Moria looks crazy now..he scares me

Despite the fact that he's now a lifeless corpse, I still have this feeling that Hildon is going to do something. There's just something about that guy.
Eh, maybe someone will trip on him later.

A problem.
In writing about Franky during TB I came across the Spider Mice. I've noticed a possibly disturbing hole. Tararan says there are 500 of them. If they were zombies they would make up for about half the creatures on TB. They would seem to be Wild-type given their weakness and design but there's no single group of zombies on TB with 500. Not even close. They do have numbers which a differentiated by an 'S' before the number. Hopefully this means they are an ADDITIONAL ie. living force similar to Absalom. The best way to prove this would be by finding a Wild Zombie with the same number as them, I have not succeeded in that as of yet. Even so, one wonders why Moria wouldn't have taken control of their shadows which would boost his already impressive 1000 by another 500. Unless of course he's unable to make a deal with a shadow and its original owner (assuming they aren't zombies) while it's in the true owner's body.
Either way I can see this making sense, it's just something he needs to elaborate on.
-
I just thought, that most of the SH crew has used desperate measures in the last 2 arcs, Choppers monster point, Sanji using hands, Zoro not so desperate but 3000 worlds. Luffy almost dying against Lucci. I bet his going to do something unlike him this time.
-
This probably has been brought up before and all but… the fact that the current arc is themed "Nightmare before Christmas"-ish, I wouldn't be surprised if Oda was to release the finale of the battle right before IRL Christmas. Whether you choose Moria to be that "nightmare" or whatever it is we'll be seeing of Luffy in the next chapter (or even Nightmare Luffy from before), I'd like to take a wild guess and say that this was all planned, time and theme-wise'd.
Oh and, hi to all. First post. Lurked for a long time (old forums, as well).

I was looking at this myself. We can see that the spider-mice are KOed by Shadow Asgard, so I'm gonna assume that they are zombies. Yeah 500 spider-mice. So there are 500 shadows still unaccounted for (or 400, if think that Moria took Luffy's). While there are "slots" for 900 zombies or whatever, we can assume that they are not all filled up. After all (too lazy to check) what was the number of the zombie, Usopp, Chopper and Nami saw Hogback making in the beginnning? So while there may have been 800 zombie bodies (and probably not even then) there don't have to have been 800 shadows inhabiting them. If you go back throuhg, you never really see 500 (or 400) active zombies throuhgout Thriller Bark. So we can assume that this is actually NOT a plot hole but that there were more spider-mice than regular zombies when the Mugiwaras stepped up to the plate.
That actually might make sense. As Moria is currently in trapping mode, rather than war mode. Plus once he got all his shadows he could always relocate the spider-mice's shadows into some of his grunts bodies for fighting. Or leave 'em in the spider-mice as the proved fairly capable of taking out some tough guys.
So # of spider-mice > number of other active zombies.
Possible.
Plus do you really think that Moria had 996 shadows before the Strawhats got there? It's a cool number. It might even be 1100, but would Moria say that? No. He'd say 1000. Much cooler.
-
Also, the SH+brook+the Lola crew purified some zumbies.
-

He's doing that freaky eye shit, so I think it's safe to say he's gone berserk. It's because of his state of mind that I can see this fight being believabley condensed. Victory in time for Christmas.
Then snow will fall on TB.
-
Moria's definitely gone berserk. Hopefully it won't get in the way of him pulling off some awesome ''Shadow Revolution'' attacks and combos. That fucking neck in itself could be a damn weapon. (Hilarious, at that.)
@Taz:

Speechless.

Not Moria, Oda, hehe. He's good with stuff like that and knows fans will nitpick. Maybe he'd let a few slip but not 100.
So they were KO'd by Asgard huh? Well that FUCKING SUCKS. This leaves the following possibility: Spider Mice have assorted rank. Some may be Bikkuri, some may be Wild, some may be Soldier etc.
Another plausable idea is that he has 500 Spider Mice IN ADDITION to the 899 zombies but only has 500 active/enabled zombies. That would make sense as well.

Actually it's for that reason I don't think we'll be seeing Shadow Revolution or at least any clever attacks. If he's bugging out, then most likely he's just going to be about tearing shit up.
Speechless.
cue generic japanese pop song

Zoro & Luffy have yet to use that attack they both used to overcome Aqua Laguna's towering waves. So if its a team fight against Moria, I would like to see an improved version of that attack, I forgot what the name of the attack was.

An even more plausable idea is that Oda just tricked our minds to believe such ideas of him planning everything so carefully from the beginning instead of just thinking that he just felt like powering-up Moria with 10000 shadows because…
1000 is cool, yet not ridiculous like 1500 or 2000, plus 1100, 1400 or less shadows would not have worked as well as the more realistic idea of Moria having 1000 shadows left after the Strawhats and Brooke got rid of a fair number of his zombies (Well, it doesn't make sense at all, but I sure look like the impact of him having 10x the power of Nightmare Luffy).
Anyways, it's just a matter of time before someone asks Oda such a Pointless question in the SBS....

actually, that make sense. Just like snowfall in merry's funeral. My first thought was It supposed to give a dramatical effect but then I realized that this is the f***ing GRANDLINE… Oda is a genius

That is exactly what my long rambling rant was saying. Yes, thank you for being concise
-
Speaking of that SBS question, there's more than 899 zombies. I assume you know the numbering goes up to 900 and left out someone(Odz?) on purpose, but what you might have missed is that the numbering goes down to 0. Zombies #1-900 would total 900, so Zombies #0-900 would make 901 zombies.
Sorry. I really dunno what you mean by this.

Don't worry. I think I know what he means. But he's wrong. Plus it was a stupid point.
-
Khamolen: Where is this zombie number 0 you speak of? What proof do you have of his existance?
-
chapter discusion please.
anyway,I stil think Moria looks "good",but Im a bit disapointed that if the thing on his neck is indeed his pirate symbol, why wasnt it anywhere on Thriller Bark?
it may be his OLD pirate symbol, though.Wonder who would crew up with Moria, though.
-
Absalom, Perona, and Hogback apparently
-
Hogback joined Moria AFTER he lost his crew and decided to get zombies to work for him. Hogback says in the flashback that he was recruited just to make the zombies.
Perona and Absalom…it never says if they joined before or after the New World, but I'll guess before because Moria mentions Kaidou to them.
-
I seriously doubt someone like Absalom could survive what Moria's "famous" subordinates couldnt.

Never said he didn't

Look closely. ;)

Greg, was wondering something, what's the general opinion of the japanese fans about Moria? The guy's pretty controversial to say the least among the western fandom and from what I've seen generally more hated than liked. What's the deal in Japan? I noticed there was no fanarts of him in the last volume. Any feedback from your students or friends?

some of these fans opinions i wouldn't value to high if i was you.

Theres people there who take up VALUABLE SBS time asking if characters were inspired by them. For theese "peoples" opinions,I realy couldnt care less.
-
@Battle:
Eh, I've kind of had my fill with giants, and the like, for now. I don't dislike Nightmare Moria, though I wouldn't rather something a little different.
I just would like for him to fight a bit more with his shadow(like he did when Luffy initially confronted him) before just becoming a giant generic tower smashing Oz 2.
Especially since all that remains is for Luffy to beat his ass so hard he surrenders.
This is assuming the time limit for absorbing shadows doesn't apply to Moria himself.
-

Yeah. Since all Japanese people are like the retards from SBS.
Aldrich, they haven't talked about him much really. I mean usually villains have some highly quotable lines and stuff but Moria who (in character) has just been floating around not doing much hasn't generated much buzz. Everyone's really been talking about Odz and how crazy/insane he is as a character in OP. They don't seem to dislike Moria, just they haven't seen him do anything worthy of talking about. I imagine that will change now to a degree. I won't be anywhere near a school for the next few weeks though so I won't get their final opinion until about mid-January.
-
I didnt mean ALL the japaneese.Just those who put in theese kindsa questions.
And considering the rising amount of those kindsa questions,I dont wanna hear opinions of THESE people.
I mean "give me that porn mag!" is REALY an inteligent, noteworthy and sofisticated OP related question that we sat and prayed to have answered for years.
I WOULD like to see a bit of Moria fanart there, though.
-
Ok, thanks for the heads up Greg.
-
i been wondering, paramecia = body gain supernatural ability, logia = body turn into certain substance
oda stated that luffy is paramecia but his ability is body turn into rubber… issit luffy considered a logia that way ? -
logias get the ability to turn their body into an element to avoid takeing damage but they can still become completely human again. Luffy doesn't have that option, he is allways made of rubber and can become untoucheble.
(BB can't either and he's not made of "black hole"/darkness, so there seems to be more to it then the description you gave… don't think anyone but Oda can really say what the difference is.)
BTW: why did you post this in the chapter 481 chapter discussion seth? =S
