Thanks 4 the chap, and I dont think he's rubber now, he could just do Luffy attacks now!
Chapter 475 "The Pirates in the Forest" Discussion
-
-
Anyone else notice all the Strawhats seem to have longer hair now? (except Chopper, but he has hair all over). Oda drops little hints like this to show us that some time has passed since the start of the journey.
-
Yeah, but only a couple of months passed, and Thriller Bark arc is only one night!
-
the art in this chapter is AMAZING!!! when did nami change clothes? where the hell did she get perona's clothes? although it does look more appropriate than her fighting odz in a wedding dress
-
Wow.
Talk about action packed. Great chapter. Thanks!
Moria is frigging fantastic.
-
XP Holy shit.
Brook: Milk will heal my bone fractures!!!
Usopp: LIAR!!!
-
Thanks all around for the RAWS.
The chapter seems great, the only complaint I have is that nothing is really accomplished (except Nami appears).
-

Usopp: LIAR!!!
Brooke grew up listening to Mista T. He has learned well.
-
Did anyone notice Usopp's face on page 10? That's kind of creepy. It reminds me more of the stereotypical manga face-fault Oda-ised.
-
^^ This chapter was pretty fun after a read through it. Can't wait for some better quality though.
loves how cutely clueless Luffy looks in the last panel
-

I'm pretty sure that he's just wearing his goggles.
-
So since Oz is a rubbergiant now, why was he affected by Nami's thunderbolt , huh ?
It depends on what Moria's done. Maybe he just made him stretch with his powers without making him rubber. I dunno for sure, but I'd wait 'til it's explained.
Speaking of the thunderbolt, I'm glad that the "it didn't do much damage" thing from the spoilers wasn't really true. I mean, Odz clearly took that attack well but the thunderbolt at least stunned him for a few seconds.
-
At last! The great mystery revealed! Brook heals his cracked bones with… milk! Why didn't I think about it?! It's so obvious! Wonder whether cottage cheese will also do...
Nami's attack certainly worked, on the next panel Odz is shown on his hands and knees. But he didn't stay that way for long.
The end of the cover story was rather abrupt. What will Ener do with his new army???
-

Live on the Moon. Enel has Vearth and subordinates to boss around. He's content.
-
Thanks for the chapter as always. Seeing Usopp and Franky's group attack was amusing as well as Zoro and Sanji's, seeing Odz/Moria's true potential a little more was a fun, and damn the roller pirates are…
-
So the cover-story is over ?
Thanks for the chapter Battle Franky and also to Clever
-
So: Oz is now able to strech his arms and legs - as it seems without any enhancements.
Do you think Oda will use this as an explanation how DF powers work? I could think of a NGE like explanation: A person's power is coming from the shadow that is in some way a "Dirac sea". A devil's fruit alters the way, a person can use this power. Each fruit alters it in a unique way. That's why there are several similar powers but no same/equal.
Just some thoughts that came into my mind after I worked on the NGE articles in the German wikipedia for several days some weeks ago (until they were deleted - while other similar articles were not. :w00t: )
-
I just had a thought. Since salt is used on zombies because zombies only have a bit of the Devil Fruit's ability in them, and since Moria having ALL of the Devil Fruit's ability is in Oz…. salt wouldn't work would it? Like if the shadow even did come out, he could just pull it back in right?
Zombies can't die because they're already dead, and purification is now impossible with Moria inside Oz.
Looks like one of those deus ex machina things would be nice about now.

You mean, like, say, Luffy meeting someone who knows Moria's secret in the forest outside Moria's mansion?
-
A decent chapter. And the rolling pirates are obviously ugly because they've probably been stuck without sun (pale) eating vermin and are extremely malnourished.

Excuses to the 16th power.
-
Okay, I finally got to see the chapter! (Damn EGUS and their internet meddling. :getlost:) Not a bad chapter. From the sound of it, Odz is also surprised by his new stretchyness, but I can't make much else out, too LQ. I think that Odz really is a robo, his arm seemed more like one of those boxing gloves that you can shoot out at people. Wonder what the secret to Moria's power is. Glad to know that the Lola/Laura/Rora growth wasn't for nothing.
-
If Perona does come back and she sees Nami wearing her clothes… Cat fight.
That will please some boys here. =^.^=
-
Well, here you go guys. Have fun with the chapter
As usual wait for the HQ in the next one or two weeks. What secret of Moria's power will the pirates reveal. Will it be a weakness?
-
I TOLD YOU NAMI WOULD PWN THIS ARC!
I totally called it. Now watch Perona join.
-
This chapter seems quite dissappoiting so far.
But thanks anyway.

I'm curious, what makes a good chapter for you? Because that's the 2nd action filled chapter I've seen that you've hated.
It's your opinion, man, I'm just curious.
-
I laughed my ass off at the whole milk thing, and Usopps reaction. Brook works so well with the Mugiwara, I can't imagine him not joining them. As for the secret, I predict it is something incredibly silly that is well-hidden. I bet Moria's credo of having other people do stuff is going to be linked with it. Or not, it is Oda
-
@Fire Fist:
You mean, like, say, Luffy meeting someone who knows Moria's secret in the forest outside Moria's mansion?
Oh sure they may foreshadow the miracle, but that still leaves us room to predict what it is right?
UNLESS Of course anyone can find some way to win without the miracle?
-
Afro Luffy returns next week. Called it.
-
( jumps on the ''fillerish but fun'' bandwagon, and then drinks a pop.)
-
May I bequest a simple cream soda from your cooler?
-
I think this may be my favorite fight in the series. The group attacks are all great.
-
May I bequest a simple cream soda from your cooler?
No, you fat shit.
Go back to that dietary plan I gave you, and jump on the bandwagon with me.
-
thanx a lot for this!

I just realised, the big robot docking technique, that Robin didnt want to do, could be done with Brook, he is really light and can hold his sword up, making himself a great weapon. hope this happens
-
(imagine this in some form of animated gift or video, don't have the time, or skills for making it)
Narrator: When the chalenges of the grand line become unbearable for the strawhat pirates, it is time for the capitan to adapt to the situation, and transform into a form that can and will beat the danger ahead.
First it was Mizu Luffy
Luffy: "In this form of mizu luffy, I have control of your weakness crocodile!!!!" (or the right quote…)
Crocodile saiying that he is still the same, and then geting hit..
Then it was Afro Luffy
Ussop: (the speech about the afro and the soul and stuff)
Luffy: HELL YEAH
Foxy: <intimidated>Now when the enemy thrills on darkness and nightmares, is time to bark back with... KURO/YAMI/KAGE LUFFY
end of trailer, probably with the last page of next week chapter.
Basicly, the thing is to not get burned by the sun, so its likely a veil(marriage lola) of some sort that filters all the light from outside, rendering luffy shadowless, unable to be burned of by the sun, and totaly blind...
Santum beat me to the firs post of this theory, damn</intimidated>
-
Nami changed outfits, just what I wanted to see!!1
Anyway - I love the cover: the Den Den Mushi microphone, and Luffy in that hat and headphones. XD
Also, it's interesting to see the group dynamics in this fight against Odz, especially Zoro's role. Though they never refer to Zoro as "first mate", in events like this you really see how he fills the role.
Also, going to agree with Zoro. Sanji really is damn annoying. :P
-
havent they called Zoro first mate? i could have sworn they did sometime in the past… =S
hmm maybe im just mixing it up with the listing of crewmembers in the "next nakama" thread..
-
Odz's new rubber powers were simply awesome. The part where we meet the real Risky Brothers was good too. So Lola is the captain of a pirate crew? Can't wait to see how she really looks like imagines Alvida before she eats a Devil Fruit
-
I wonder what would happen if Odz did Gear Second?
-
Stephen's script is out.
Speaking of which I found this in chapter 443.@Stephen's:
Brook: Head Chef!! I would like milk for my mealtime beverage!!
Looks like milk was foreshadowed a long time ago to help Brook. It's so simple, I mean milk DOES build strong bones.
It was alright. The fight seems to be dragging. The combo attacks are cool though. They really can work together like a real crew should.
Luffy's new magical powerup next week. That'll probably take up the majority of next week's chapter, so I call Odz being defeated two weeks from now.
Thanks to everyone who made this chapter great.
-
Imagine if it did Gear 3rd…......
-
The SH's going all Chrono Trigger was awesome.
Moria who's already an unstoppable beast getting even MORE powerful was pretty sick.
Seeing that Brooke isn't a powerhouse fighter but more of a dork with tricks up his sleeve makes me look forward to him having his own fights if/when he joins.
Not a whole lot in this chapter but for the first time in along while the manga is delivering a totally sastifying fight. I'm already liking the SH's vs. Odz more than their fights against any of Moria's subordinates.
Sanji's a dumbass for totally giving away Nami's position that way. I mean,t he second he saw her I kinda thought "Please don't scream and point, Sanji!" then that's exactly what he did. Also, I'm ejoying Zoro being the "battle commander" or whatever. I think he's much more affective at leading the SH's charge into battle than Luffy would've been.Luffy's new magical powerup next week. That'll probably take up the majority of next week's chapter, so I call Odz being defeated two weeks from now.
I doubt it'll be revealed until the moment Luffy actually uses it against Moria. Most likely they'll just be a quick scene with Lola explaining Moria's weakness, but we won't actually see how to exploit it until he catches up to him. But that could happen next week. I doubt we get another week of SH's battling Odz to buy time.
-
Somebody called the pirates in the forest a Deus Ex Machina moment. I disagree with this assertion wholeheartedley. They have spent a long time on that island hiding in the forest. They probably observed Moria long enough in that forest to learn much about him. And of course they would want their shadows back, so of course they would help Luffy do what they weren't strong enough to do.
-
-
Well, the pirates in the forest aren't so surprising considering the old man and the rest of the shadowless people Luffy and the crew found when they were looking for Nami, Chopper, and Usopp.
-
