@game2005:
Why is it that people are under the assumption that Nami's shadow is taken just because she's sleeping?
I think that I might be the only hold out on that one. It's just that of the four people we have seen passed out this arc, three had their shadows stolen (the fourth being Perona.)
Also, Absalom had both the opportunity and the motive (remember Hogback saying that they needed nami because of her bounty?) to drop by Moria on the way to the tailors. So, nami having her shadow taken seems the most likely explanation for her current state, although it is by no means set in stone.
@WeAllEatFood:
This chapter really made me like Chopper more than I already did, and the same goes for Hogback. I also find it interesting that Moria was a stitched up monstrosity even before he met Hogback. It sure does bring up some interesting questions….
I agree whole heartedly. Chibi-chopper with the bullseye target pissed off eyes is really quite freaky. I love how oda keeps him from being a pointless mascot character with this kind anti-cute design.
Also, like you said… if he was already doing surgery on himself, then Hogback was a mad scientist even before he met up with Moria. I'm still expecting him to come out with some kind of absalom like improvement that he has made on himself to give chopper an interesting fight. Maybe some sort of flesh zombie armor.
