@ Gorlom: Moria's actions made sense as long as you recognize that he had not considered brooke in his plans. Were it not for the Hummer, The remaining strawhats would still be running around the island like chickens with their heads cut off. They would be whittled down one by one by the spidermice or take care of by the invincible zombie horde. They would all be passed out and shipped out by now.
Brooke changed all that by telling everyone where the missing three were, how to defeat the zombies, the ramifications of losing their shadows etc. If Brooke hadn't been involved, Moria's regular entrapment strategy would have worked like a charm.
Other notes:
Does anyone think that Sanji's pointy teeth on page four may have been Oda's response to people complaining about Moria's dental surgery from flat to pointy teeth?
I'm kind of worried about how popular that panel will be as an avatar in the near future.
Also, I really love how zoro and Franky stabbed/shot Odz without him even noticing. This really bodes well for the upcoming fights.
@aldrich: Moria's character design is really growing on me as well. The mixture of sadistic grin and evil eyes with the personality of a teenage brat is quite unique. Besides, those little curly horns are endearing.
@pass the rootbeer: Actually, a lot of odz has been changed freely over the weeks. Little care has been taken to match his stitch design, for example. Only the more obvious marks, like the splots and wound at his right armpit and other more obvious characteristics are kept constant panel to panel. Also, this arc'll last us for a couple of months a least. We're still in setup phase. The fights alone should take two months.
