It's great that he was sort of in control for like the first 3 minutes, and then she made a comment about people leaving his rallies and from then on he was just nuts. So easy to play.
Also, he refused to look in her direction, he only looked at the moderators.

That was a misdirection, because the fact that Trump is in his pocket, and that Russia is helping interfere with the elections has been pretty common knowledge since 2016, so he has to deflect a tiny bit. That's what he has to say around the election, and then a few months later be clear that he preferred Trump. Same thing happened with Clinton and Biden. He gave one sound byte where he said he preferred the other person so the quote could be there, and then made his actual preference clear dozens of other times.
Or he was just making a joke because everyone in the room knows this already, and it's a ludicrous thing for him to say.
