Zoros chapters are awesome
It definitely pays to be a Zoro fan .
I'm kinda curious though. If the Ashura state was also a form of his king haki, does that mean it was perking up back in Enes Lobby?

For me, what happened there is confusing. Was it ashura ? Imbued king's Haki on his sword ? or just Oden's sword ?
Might be the three of the above.
IF Ashura is in CoC territory, then it means that Oda introduced us to stands AND that Zoro awakened before Luffy. But took way more time to control it (which he technically didn't do yet).
If he unconsciously imbued CoC on his sword, then cool I guess.
BUT if it's only about Oden's sword then it sucks ass.
Very good chapter but I am a bit annoyed that it took Zoro this long to realize that the a swordsmith is having the same name as his friggin' hometown. And nope, no matter how much you he says "I didn't put much thought into it" it's absolutely not to think of his hometown when he hears it's name being dropped of only in a different context. Let's say you change Zoro's inner monologue like follows:
"I realized right back when I heard your name that it's been old man"
"But I didn't put any further thought your into connection to Enma because you just made it, you don't teach the way of the sword.
"However now that I see things more clearly, is there something in your many ramblings that could make me understand Enma better?"
I'm now very good in terms of eloquence so I'm quite sure that someone more eloquent than me could write up a cooler sounding monologue containing the same information. The point is with this we would have the literally same chapter minus Zoro coming across like a moron that took this long to realize that Shimotsuki Kozaburo is sharing the same name with his hometown.

I wouldnt say not thinking the old man has the village name after it and is an important person in a far away land is that crazy. People dont tend to associate casual acquaintances to famous figures. So that part didnt bother me. The part that does is when the old man specifically said he made a sword named after the lord of the underworld. And I doubt Zoro wouldn't remember something so specific in the 2 weeks.
On onehand Zoro is an obsessed meathead who would lose his ass if it wasn't attached.
But on the other his sole obsession is swordplay, which makes it weird that this is what he forgot.
for me this was a chapter where we should put logic a little to the side. It was nice to have some new information on how the swords lore. The explanation of cursed swords was long overdue. Now we still have to learn how Zoro will make a black sword
Do you think that one-day Zoro will eventually retire and become a swordsmith ?
He'll remember that one time he visited the how to make swords black district of magic sword village and got the full layout on how to make a black haki sword

I might be mistaken here but I don't think this is how it works. He's good at using the sword but hasn't shown any signs of knowing how to actually make one. If anything I think he could become a teacher passing his way of the sword down to the next generation.

Zoro's memories get lost on their way to his brain.
He's forgotten who Sanji is like twelve times, that's why he never calls him by name.
What you mean old man Shimotsuki who made cursed swords is the same Shimotsuki who made all these cursed swords. What a world
Zoro is a freaking moron. Always has been presented as such.
I still remember the discussions concerning Zoro and how he's probably illiterate. Good times.
!
Zoro is not a moron lol, there is just this gag about his sense of orientation (why he's being called a moron in-universe most of the time) + the joke posted by Jabra.
Also other gags I guess that made him look dumb like the moment when he was stuck upside down in a chimney in WaterSeven.
We've actually discussed this on a French forum like years ago, but–- do I really need to dig up all the moments when Zoro was insightful and/or acted like a right-hand... just because he can't differentiate right and left ?
Being wise is not the same as being smart.
Street Smarts VS Book Smarts, one may say.
The only "book-smart" in the crew is Robin. Who is also "street-smart" given her history of running away from the WG…
Being wise is not the same as being smart.
Maybe not, but what would be the difference for you ?

I rather expect him to get second scar in his duel against Mihawk and him meeting time traveler DF user that goes backwards in time, opposite of Toki DF should also exist ;)
Him becoming known as God of Sword Ryuma in past being his fate. Twisty but I would enjoy it.
His motivation for time travel being that after besting Mihavk he would have chance to meet someone called as God of Sword, wanting travel in time to get to Wano to meet him and finding out there is no such man living in OP world, Zoro getting to fight a dragon and understanding that he is Ryuma.
:ninja:
I meant it more like : when he'll become the World'sStrongestSwordsman, he'll be bored and will need some hobbies. Just like Mihawk is spending is time gardening.
But now that you've said this, a sequel with Zoro traveling through time to fight strong swordsmen (or why not sword-woman) would be fun. Anyway, Onimaru being his companion of travel is more likely

Zoro did realize that his village and the clan share the same name, he just thought it was coincidence like he said in the chapter.

For real? Then I totally remember it wrong. Thanks for pointing that out. I stand corrected then.

wouldn't that be a 3rd scar?
wouldn't that be a 3rd scar?
I meant scars on his face. Ryuma had two, one like Zoro.
Zoro has literally forgotten Kokoro exists, like erased from his memory, so its 100% canon that he forgets details and names. If he can forget the first mermaid he ever met he can certainly not think about a guy he met years ago on the other side of the world. It doesn't bother me.
I always took that as more of a selective memory gag. Like he knows who Kokoro is he just doesn't want to acknowledge her. I'm sure he would know her if they met again.
