I still think we're going to end around 1400 - 1500. Which has basically been my estimate since the time skip. We're probably not finishing Wano until mid-2022; 4 years on one story arc. A year is a mini arc by Oda's standards (something like Elbaf taking a year would be barely longer than Zou, for context; about 10 chapters longer than Zou).
I think, after Wano, we'll have a string of arcs building to Laugh Tale / One Piece taking about 5 - 7 years, culminating in Luffy vs. Blackbeard, then the final war against Imu and the World Gov, which could be as long or as short as Oda wants; basically the endgame.
Wano - ends around 1050; mid 2022; Carrot joins
Vegapunk Arc - ends around 1100; early 2024; Underworld (Crocodile, brokers, lvl 6, Kizaru, and CP0), SSG, Revs, Bonney & Kuma, Devil Fruit & Awakening explained, new Weapon, Hancock, Vivi, & Sabo; Smoker joins :ninja:; Vivi returns; Crew complete
Elbaf Arc - ends around 1180 - 1200; 2026 to 2027; Charlotte Family, Eneru returns, Uranus, Elbaf royal family, Urouge, space / moon(s); maybe Shanks involved, maybe not.
Blackbeard / Shanks / God Valley / Lodestar / Laugh Tale - ends around 1300 to 1350; (really hard to estimate; I think it will cover these 3 locations, but hard to say how long each will be. I'm imagining these being paced similar to Sabaody through Marineford, culminating with the Straw Hats vs. Blackbeard Pirates before Luffy discovers One Piece and becomes Pirate King). Shanks and Blackbeard are the focus; Final Road Poneglyph, Rocks Flashback, True History, One piece, Luffy becomes Pirate King
Final War - ends around 1400 to 1500; Final War against Imu and the World Government; Marijoa, Imu, Ancient Weapons, Zunesha, destruction of Fishman Island, the Straw Hats accomplishing their dreams (which I think will happen independently, but will also all be tied into the final war; I think all of their dreams are inherently tied to the central narrative arc of liberating and restoring the world to its proper state). Includes epilogue
A lot more uncertainty as we get further out. I think Elbaf will be the last big arc before Laugh Tale. Basically, I think of the remaining stuff sort of fitting into bins. I think Oda's statements make a lot more sense in light of the vol 97 SBS - 5 years to find One Piece, but that's not where publication ends; it becomes a different story at that point, focused on confronting the world and shouldering he burden of history, rather than a fun adventure in search of lost treasure. One Piece was left behind for a purpose and once Luffy becomes the next Pirate King, he will inherit the responsibility left behind by Roger - he'll need to surpass Roger and finish that which Roger could not.
I honestly do not believe Oda can resolve the story of One Piece in 5 years. I may be wrong and if I'm wrong, it's okay. I just don't believe it's going to happen. There are no signs at all on Onigashima that Oda is rushing things along. He spent a lot of time on the rooftop fight between the New Generation and Emperors where he could have easily cut away earlier. I'm not saying he should have, but if his primary interest was cutting time, he didn't need to spend 3 chapters on Luffy, Zoro, Law, Kid, and Killer exchanging blows with Kaido and Big Mom when the battle hasn't even entered its final phase yet. Main reason I haven't changed my estimate is because, despite the interview statements, I see no evidence on the page that Oda is rushing. The only evidence for Oda 'rushing' in the New World has been him off-paneling / skipping fights, but honestly, he hasn't consistently dedicated full chapters to fights since CP9. This honestly seems like more of a function of the extremely large cast size in most story arcs and lack of interest on Oda's part (slows down the pacing significantly). Oda's individual story arcs just keep getting longer and longer.
My honest guess is One Piece ends around 2030 - 2033.
Dressrosa, Whole Cake, and Wano are all massive arcs and Oda hasn't resolved half he plotlines he set up in these story arcs. Resolving storylines typically takes more time than set-up and it's not like the final story arcs in the series will involve fewer characters. If anything, the cast in each arc is only going to grow larger. Even saying there are a handful of islands left, it's hard to imagine Oda doing justice to the characters set-up but not yet introduced (like Vegapunk) or barely touched on (like Dragon), while also resolving the storylines for other major characters and and answering the deepest lore / mystery questions in fewer chapters than the most recent story saga (Punk Hazard through Wano).
