@theackwardstation:
Thanks for the support, but I'm less optimistic.
Trump didn't get the popular vote since the beginning, and his persona is a little bit more scandalous on a daily basis, so it was only a matter of dems making a good strategy to mobilize people to vote and try to get the electoral college right this time.
But Bolsonaro is actually popular in Brazil (despite having a high rejection too), so much so that he easily won the popular vote without even bothering to go to TV debates and stuff like that. So Bolsonaro is going strong, especially considering his supporters are just as fanatical as Trump's and he is even more populist. It's mindblowing, but his approval rating actually got higher during the pandemic despite Brazil probably being the country that handled it the worst and our currency being the most affected in the world.
Hopefully I'm wrong.
I think will be a hard battle but can be done. He was elected with a great deal of support from the middle class, and I can see much of this support disappeared already. His cabinet is a joke, all the ministers are grossly under qualified. We been two years into his mandate and he has accomplished absolutely nothing, he neglected a global pandemic to focus in being reelected, there's absolutely no economical plan, he whore himself to the center parties to consolidate his position a thing he said he wouldn't do, his eldest son is being processed in the grounds of the RICO law, his second son is being investigated for the same thing, the third one was supporting US election fraud conspiracy, two years where bigotry and racism have being mostly ignored.
All the mayor candidates in this year election related to Bolsonaro, or his former party are losing, which is a sign that his position is not as solid as he likes to think it is. Globo also played a huge part in the 2018 election in pushing for a non PT gov't, don't think they will do the same again. He also dogged to going to any debates due to being stabbed, poor crazy guy couldn't finish the job (and I also suspect that it was a sham to blame the left for an attempt on his life in the always constant fascist search for enemies), how can he doge the debates in 2022?
On other side of things /pol/ is having a meltdown, bloody hilarious.
