My RightStuf order hasn't changed yet, which good for me, since I'm shipping it to my new apartment, which I don't move into til March 1st (>.<) Would be pretty bad if it shipped tomorrow and I couldn't get it

I’ve got an order with Rightstuf and another with Funimation (I want the exclusive charms and can make most of my money back reselling the second on eBay). Neither shipped. Oh well. Hopefully next week.
-
Anyone else get shipping notices? I haven’t gotten mine from either.
-
None for me, yet.
-
I ordered Stampede from FUNi's store and just got a shipping confirmation (had to recheck the release date, didn't think it was this month sooo it's super early), so yay at least I can finally watch that
Well apparently this was a false alarm. I ordered this and Code Geass Re; and uh yeah for such a large company their ecomm sucks
Here is what they showed me under the email heading "Great news! Your order has shipped"
But upon further inspection of my order page (once I received my package that did not have OP with it) they really only shipped Geass as I guess OP is not yet in stock. So yeah their email confirmations are completely unreliable, if you order from their shop don't trust their emails
-
Yeah. I figured it was a glitch if no one else was reporting.
This Blu-ray comes with a gift. In my limited experience, items that come with gifts usually arrive late or on time. Here’s hoping we get it early, though.

ONE PIECE VOICE ACTORS CELEBRATE THE ANIME'S 20TH ANNIVERSARY AT C2E2 2020
Epic pirate adventure One Piece may be getting its first-ever live-action adaptation courtesy of Netflix, but the incredibly long-running Eiichiro Oda manga is also celebrating a big milestone on the anime side of things. With over 900 episodes released over the show's 20 years (officially observed last October), fans of Monkey D. Luffy and his motley crew know that the voice cast have plenty of war stories from their times on the seven seas. Which means that when voice actors Brina Palencia (Tony Tony Chopper) and Colleen Clinkenbeard (Luffy) sat down for an anniversary panel at C2E2 2020 – also celebrating the return of the Funimation One Piece dub -- it wasn't hard at all to stretch an ear over for what they had to say.
"We recently did the 20th-anniversary special features" all about how One Piece came to America, Clinkenbeard said. She produces the special features on the Funimation productions, so she explained that she got to go deep on the history of One Piece for this epic interview-laden mini-doc that will release on a special anniversary disc.
Speaking about their origins of their roles, the actresses explained that they got to hear their Japanese counterparts ahead of time -- a rare event for the industry -- because those behind One Piece wanted them to be as close as possible to the original voices. Since Funimation doesn't yet have all the episodes of One Piece acquired, the American dub of the series isn't quite caught up to the Japanese original, but both panelists were adamant that they'd continue their roles throughout the foreseeable future.
And how does the hyper-prolific series keep its audience around? The actresses give all credit to the author. "Oda does such a fantastic job of making it forever interesting," Clinkenbeard said. "It's never boring," Palencia confirmed. The franchise will only get wilder from here, since the series is next headed into live action at a major streamer.
Netflix's take on One Piece will bring its 10-episode first season to Netflix in the near future.

Colleen Clinkenbeard said at a C2E2 One Piece panel that they just finished making a 20th anniversary mini documentary on the history of One Piece in America. It was said it woule be released on a "special anniversay disc."
Credit to WTK on Twitter for noticing this [
I](
) really wonder what the special anniversary disc is? I've gotta assume the article is just wrong and this is just a extra feature on a upcoming set for the dub release? (This could also just be talking about the bonus feature on the stampede disc I guess.)
-
I hope they include some background on the 4kids deal. Yeah Yeah sue me.
-
I mean, they’re describing exactly the same thing that appeared on the East blue special, aren’t they?
-
I guess Stampede will give me my dub One Piece fix for a short while, considering the new dub episodes are looking to be vaporware
-
They are far from vaporware, we know they're being worked on and this has been reinforced several times this year alone
-
The delay will probably be extended due to Coronavirus so we may as well get comfortable.
-
I’m not so sure that will have an effect. If the paperwork has been sorted out, which I assume it was when they made the announcement, they won’t have to wait on anyone for permission to upload. It just comes down to their own timetable.
But of course we don’t know anything, so anything could happen.

Oh right, I forgot that we weren't talking about physical media.
-
Well, I managed to keep Sabo’s return a secret from my dub-only fiancé for years now. But I just got Pirate Warriors 3 on the Switch and he’s front and center on the switch homepage icon. Guess he won’t be a secret from her for much longer…
--- Update From New Post Merge ---
Looks like Stampede was released digitally today. Good for those of you who don’t want to buy it or are impatient for the Blu-ray.
-
Matt Shipman gives a bit of info on his voicework for Cavendish in a recent AMA
-
Well, they pretty much well into Dressrosa then for the dub. That's good to hear.
-
Woo! 15-20 in to his character. That’s what, 50 episodes into the arc or so? So either they’re recording PH and DR simultaneously, or Stephanie Young just posted an old photo that’s was in her phone and they’re actually a good bit ahead.
Well, at least this bodes well for consistent releases.
-
An interesting response to Shipman’s post that I noticed:
“The Funimation discord server just asked fans if they want One Piece to move to blu ray so it should be another month or two until it's available for preorder. Then three months after that.”
I don’t have Discord so I have no idea if it’s legit or not. Could be a good sign if it’s true though.

While I personally don't have a problem with the series on BD, I would rather them release BDs along side the DVDs continuing forward, rather than changing the format altogether and just releasing BDs onwards. I am the type of collector that would not switch formats half way through a series for continuity sake. For instance if I started collecting the series on DVD, I would like to continue the rest on DVD and vice versa for BDs. Since there was only ever DVDs of OP until now, in which I have collected them all, I would honestly be pissed having to switch at this point in time.
From the sound of that one response (to me anyway) it sounds like FUNimation was considering JUST releasing BDs moving forward rather DVDs. I really hope that is not the case and that they release both DVDs and BDs to please everyone. Though if FUNimation is now mentioning physical media again, it must means the wait is finally coming to an end and we are about to see OP return on home video (probably as early as Summer)
-
I hope they don't go that route with the One Piece release. That would screw over the people that been collecting the Collection release of the series. The final volume of Season 9 isn't out in a collection yet, since the collection it supposed to be with is the first volume of Season 10.
-
Did some research. Here’s the conversation; I wouldn’t look so far into it. They didn’t even say what series it was about.
-
Well what other series could it be? Fairy Tail is already on BD and there's no series that they're currently only releasing on DVD
-
So the person who posted that took everything FUNimation said out of context

Actually, it could still be Fairy Tail. They never said anything about DVD only. They were asking if the series originally released in DVD cases, would they mind the switch to BD cases. FT was always released as a combo in DVD cases. So they could be referring to that

I see now. That's unfortunate. Oh well. The silver lining is now we know they're well into Dressrosa, which is good news and makes me hopeful we'll get larger than normal chunks dropped on us in Funimation Now when they DO decide to finally release episodes.

Don’t get your hopes up. More likely they’ll make the episodes last in 13-episode chunks, and they’ll stop recording for a year or two while the episodes release. That seems to be their MO. I’m curious if there really is a hold up or they’re just trying to get super far ahead of the release schedule. If the latter, I wonder how far will be far enough for them.
Also, vote for Bernie Sanders tomorrow (Mar 10th), y’all.

It looks like RightStuf has got Stampede in stock now. So they must be going to ship anytime.

You must be watching that like a hawk; I checked it like two hours ago and it wasn't in stock.
-
Rightstuf charged me last night, so I think that means it ships today.
-
My copy of Stampede has shipped from RightStuf, along with Attack on Titan Season 3 Part 2.
-
I've been keeping an eye on the forum since my last post, but this is my first in a little while. I see Matt Shipman has stated he's recording Cavendish, and seems to be quite far in. If that's any indication as to how far they are into Dressrosa, I'll take that in a heartbeat. Fingers crossed they are mixing PH, and if we are very, very lucky, they may just give us a regular schedule for it.

Dang that's what I'm waiting for too, but it says AoT isn't in stock yet

Oh, Skippy. Right. I know him. Haha
-
Got my copy .

Any good special features?

All I see on the back is the behind the scenes with the cast feature. I have tried to watch due to work, working out and trying to get a date, though it looks like that fell though.

Funimation and Rightstuf both suck. Rightstuf shipped my copy and it won’t arrive until two days after release day. Funimation hasn’t even shipped the item yet, so that one might be a week or so late.

Funimation's store is really bad about returns and replacements.
It takes them months to ship anything out (well beyond the chargeback deadline for any credit card), and there's no guarantee that you'll even get what you wanted.
They can't give you any shipping estimates either, and if you ask too many reasonable questions they'll stop replying to your emails.Early last year I ordered a bunch of One Piece DVDs from Amazon, Rightstuf, and Funimation. Each batch had at least one broken case or scratched DVD, because the mail hates DVDs.
Amazon and Rightstuf both did relatively painless exchanges, but Funimation never sent me replacements and couldn't tell me when they'd be mailed out, so after two months I ended up having to do a chargeback.

Daman Mills is pulling out of voice work for a while while he recovers from illness (possibly coronavirus). I don’t think he voices anyone in OP right now, but I wouldn’t be surprised if this happens with other voice actors and Funi has to mostly close shop for a bit and delay a lot of simuldubs. Curious if this is also slowing down OP dubbing.
-
I am gonna buy Stampede dubbed to help with supporting the series and showing Funimation that there's interest for it, but I'm planning to just buy it on Prime Video, where it's available for $9.99 in HD. The only thing I have in my entire household that's capable of playing DVDs would be the CD player on my rather-old laptop, haha. Meanwhile, both of my TVs are capable of streaming stuff from Prime Video, so that's the best way for me to watch it on a larger screen. I haven't purchased it yet, but I will once I'm ready to watch it again, which should be sometime within the next couple of days.

He was the voice of Kelly Funk (jacket-man) in Episode of Sabo.

Considering cost of production and shipping, Funimation is probably going to make an equal amount from than $10 sale compared to a dvd sale.

Funimation just shipped my item, a day before release.

Tweeted to early but One Piece is coming to Netflix sub and Dubbed
