Doffy's clone and Robin's clone are full BS, aren't they?
Robin's cloning feels like a natural extension of her power, could be awakening.
Doffy's is definitely a stretch though.

Since Robin grows body parts I think growing a full body makes sense. I dontdthink it should be able to walk tho. Doffly making clones that looks human is quite strange. I am quite unsure how that works.

If I'm not wrong, Doflamingo could create strings of any color, so it must have been some supreme weaving skills.
Why didn't Sengoku name his goat Sengoatku?
Came here to ask and then saw the last person to post's name was Sengokusgoat, that's perfect.
@Medical:

There's no evidence that he didn't

Doffy's first (and continuing) use of his strings was to puppet people around so it makes perfect sense for him to construct a makeshift puppet on the other end of his strings to fit the motif.

You are talking about motif not how his power works. Also I don't think clones and puppet are the same motif.

That's like saying Hawkins' straw shouldn't have the ability to wield Voodoo dolls but he can. So clearly motifs play a part in the actual wielding of the power.
Or how Viola could use whale tears as an attack having vision powers because of…. eye things.
Still, good catch with the puppet / clone thing
Doffy COULD have made any puppet he wanted, not only a clone of himself.
Guy can stitch together his torn organs, so…
Maybe we will have a clue when we find out about the origin of Devilfruits. I mean, isn't the weird thing how people find out about specific possibilities to use their powers? Sure some are more obvious than others, but how did Sugar found out about the contract-thing? Maybe it's enough to know that there is an unbelievable amount of techniques to make use of on a single DF. We most likely just grasp the tip of the iceberg; which makes it the more interesting to see how - let's say - Sabo, Blackbeard and Shilliew will make use of their fruits in contrast to their predecessors.
The most likely thing, will be seeing Sabo use his "breath" technique like in Dressrosa, which I am assuming is the advance haki Luffy is learning now., but it being "Fire Breath". So we see flames erupting.

I think It's closer to Viola making whales which I also find to be BS. Either her powers make her see far or it makes whales. The strings were simply sharp strings until suddenly they could take every aspects of a human from shape to color to talking to sweating. A devil fruit should have one power not a bunch. But that's my personal distaste for the Post timeskip fruits.
I still stand that Oda had made abrupt design change on Cracker, ergo the biscuit soldier.

I'm just saying at least Hawkins' and Doflamingos' special talents make some semblance of sense. But yeah, Viola's was preposterous.

Was it ever shown that Cracker was using Haki to empower his biscuits? Luffy already had an impossible time breaking them without Nami's help so if Cracker wasn't even using Haki to strengthen their defense it would be even more impressive. Otherwise he just majorly dropped the ball and deserved to get whupped the way he did.
Why the hell is Robin creating a body double BS? Her power is literally to recreate body parts and use them normally, a body is simply connecting the body parts.

Unless you have Awakening, you apparently can only use Haki on your DF "products" if you are in contact with them, so Cracker did use Haki when he was inside the armor himself, he could not when he had the biscuits in front of him, but in exchange, he constantly recreated the shields once they got broken.
Viola just produced or drained a mass amount of tears. What form it took doesn't matter at all. That amount should destroy her in real life, but it's OP and she either stored that amount over a large amount of time or she produced it as part of her DF power like Doffy makes strings or Cracker makes Biscuits from nothing at times.
I look at DF abilities as not just 1 dimensional, but the lore of what it's connected to. Voodoo Dolls are made from straw, but straw is the subject of Hawkin's Df. Genies/Jinns come from vessels, mostly a lamp. Daifuku is said to be a lamp human with steam (i think), so he was able to produce the figure that appears as a Genie and can be ridiculously huge and strong.
Sugar and Law are actually the best examples of DF having capabilities coming with an interesting subject with lore.
I view Devil Fruit abilities as following a general motif of sorts rather than any straightforward abilities, so I never had any real issue with it. Viola's whale tear thing was a little weird admittedly, but even that is apparently a reference to some pun if I recall correctly.

This may have nothing to do with it, but I read before that Whales have almost alien like communication skills. Alien in the sense that their intelligence is novel like. It can be explained on how they can learn and apply what they learn in human terms. With Viola having an awareness/communicative based ability, I guess using a whale to illustrate how strong her skill would be symbolic.
This is all reach like assumptions, so it can't even be a theory.
Hiya, been absolute ages since I last posted here. I plan to re-read the manga by the end of this year or so, so that I experience everything again before Wano comes to a conclusion. In the meantime, there's one thing that's been bothering me lately because I don't remember the details at the end of Whole Cake very well.
What was the reason again that Jinbe is not with the crew now? What did he have to do to stay behind there?
Idk it's just been bothering me lately, it made perfect sense for him to not be there up until WCI due to him making Punk Hazard and Dressrosa easier, but we're up against a Yonkou now (two, in fact) and I just don't understand why he's still missing. Can someone help me out here?
We will only learn that when he returns… Maybe that moment will happen at the begining of act 3

He was staying behind to make sure the Straw Hats could escape.
@Johnny:

What do people on this forum think about that? I have mixed feelings tbh: on the one hand needing someone to stay behind to make sure the rest can escape adds to the tension of that arc and the difficulty of the escape they had to pull off, and nobody else would really have made sense besides Jinbe. On the other hand, as I pointed out earlier it means he's still not with them now which is kinda annoying. I really hope he shows up early on in the next part.
I hate it. Postponed the second time already…
i Hated it too. I'm really tired of the blueballing concerning Jinbe, Fishman Island finished over 300 chapters ago and Jinbe STILL isn't with the crew.
For a person that doesn't want anybody after Brook, Oda is doing well with Jinbei. If anyone is to join, they better be put through hell 5 times
I'm not a big fan of Jinbe, so i'm fine with it - he sure had his moments on WCI.
I've been speculating that maybe Jimbei has some serious connections to Wano. Maybe these connections are best saved later for some shocking revelations or something. The Wano connections could include the origins of Fishman Karate, Jimbei's style of dress or an established relationship with Jack. I figure these things Oda would want to tackle later rather than earlier so leaving Jimbei out was just the easiest course of action.
It's going on 2 weeks now since he separated from the group right? If everything was absolutely ok I'd have to imagine he would have made it by now. Story reasons as to why he hasn't made it to Wano yet could be because he was captured by Big Mom. Maybe he got involved with someone else's problems along the way. What ever the reason I'm certain he got wrapped up in something that will bring in a small fleet of allies to help with the fight.
At this moment I don't like it one little bit. The crew has been separated enough for my tastes and I want him there with the whole gang. Hopefully during Act 3 when the crew is supposed to come together he will be there as well.
Still I'm always one to just patiently wait and see the ultimate outcome before I fully judge a plot line. Maybe he returns and my mind is blown for what ever reason.
I bet Jinbe will give us a reason… Again
But god please let him fucking set sail with the crew.
This 2x postponing is annoying...

Sounds spot-on, thanks for that. I hadn't really considered that there might be more to it. Let's hope.

My thought is that the Fishmen actually used to live over at Wano ( perhaps w/ Fishman island even forming part of it at some point ). Lady Toki? A ( dragon-type? )Mermaid Princess from the past. That Octopus and those Carp are at the entrance are carrying on a centuries-old duty dictated by the Dragon King of old. Fishmen and other inhuman "yokai" of Wano got driven out by the samurai after they armed up and kicked em out.
Whitebeard confirmed that shanks is Rocks Son. In their meeting he said that wound still aches when I see u '' that guy''. People believed it's Rodger but it's rocks

I mean it's definitely possible but it's not like it's written in stone, it could easily still be about Roger, also Rocks was on the same team as whitebeard

I believe he was obviously talking about Oden.
Why the hell did Raftel get changed to Laugh Tale? It's such a stupid name. Maybe I am just attached to Raftel.

I don't know why, but I do agree. Laugh Tale is just dumb.

What do you mean with this? I have never seen Laugh Tale before except on this forum (havent been here in ages but recently started looking at a few posts again), I thought it was just a meme emerging from a bad translation somewhere. So what do you mean by "changed" like it's official?

Yes, it seems so. That is how it appeared in Stampede, the most recent movie.

That had to be from Oda right? Because it surely can't take 22 years to realise that the island holding One Piece didn't have a romanisation?

Even when you search the Wiki's Laugh Tale comes up instead of Raftel. It was in the latest movie, but damn it took 22 years to give it a romanisation?

Ah, okay. Looking into a few posts on it, people have made connections with how Luffy smiled when he was about to die and such, and a possible connection with SMILEs.. Because of that it's already starting to grow on me. It might actually make a lot of sense depending on what's revealed in the story later. It's a shock for me that it seems to be legit, but who knows where things are gonna go.

By the way now that I'm in this thread anyways.. Just today I finished my re-read of the entire Manga and I didn't see the name "Saber of Xebec" for Blackbeard's ship come up anywhere.. I might've just missed it - I do tend to look over the pictures quite quickly sometimes in order to get through the dialogue quicker - but where was this name revealed?

Blackbeard's vivre card.

As someone that hasn't been too fond of some of Oda's recent name changes, honestly Laugh Tale is the kind of thing we wouldn't think twice about if that's what it was called from the beginning. Feels like a pretty fitting name all things considered.
How do you guys think Crocodile will get reintroduced to the story, we know he has a backstory, I mean the scar on his faceand a hook for a hand are dead giveaways at that, but we also have Iva's secret about him which I'm almost certain is gender bending
But will he be against the straw hats again? Will he be an ally? And if so in what capacity, will it be his idea or will he have his back against the wall and need to team up based off necessity?

Blackbeard's vivre card.
Is this something we were shown in the Manga or is it from a databook?

The ultimate question, when is Urouge going to get the love he deserves?
Oda needs to include him in an arc

It's been a couple of weeks or even a month at least since Kaido dropped on that Island, so he should be healed up.
Something I noticed when re-reading the series recently: in Zou we have a full moon blocked by the fog, then in WCI we have another full moon when Carrot shows her Sulong form, and I don't recall any indication that more than a week or maybe 2 passed in the meantime, and now on Wano when the attack is about to launch we have a full moon again, and again I don't remember any indication that it's taken more than like 2 weeks since the last one.
Am I getting my time indications all messed up, or is this the first solid indication we've gotten that either there are multiple active "moons", or the moon in OP works very differently?
If it is so with the moons how Ebel only have seen one or are they staying at the same orbit all the time
If yes Enel has a lot to travel for
