Funimation have an Industry panel at 1.30 next Saturday from NYCC. Fingers crossed for a Punk Hazard dub announcement.

Oh yeah, regarding Jango, they also went back to the original season 1 pronunciation of JAHngo. During Marineford, a few lines called him JAYngo.
I'm already liking Kyle more than Joel.
-
They have One Piece badges for NYCC
I'm so ready for the annoucement
-
Can’t wait to hear what they announce specifically. Hopefully Dressrosa too. I can’t imagine they’d go through the trouble of licensing only forty episodes (PH).
-
If I've been looking at the right listings, they must have something against the Upper Midwest. Nothing for Stampede in Minnesota (where I live), North Dakota, South Dakota, Wisconsin, or Iowa. Not that I was gonna be willing to travel a full state away to find a theater, but was surprised I couldn't even find a listing just 1 state away. Could also not know what I'm doing, but oh well, I'll wait and watch it online and buy it whenever it gets released someday.
In some recent water damage troubles, seems I've forgotten to order the East Blue set. From the responses, sounds good enough to order, so I'll have to get on that.

The theater listings are usually always being updated. I would suggest contacting your local theaters and letting them know you and others want them to screen Stampede.

I see Oda's one-shot "Romance Dawn" is getting an adaptation, and will air on the TV series 09.30 slot on the 20th. Funimation will want to dub that, so hoping they at least wait until we've had Dressrosa, which will take a long while if they do continue on the current distribution model.

That's just an episode of the regular TV anime, so they'll dub it when they get to Wano in the dub
-
I know this is really old, but it is interesting nonetheless.

This may be a hint that they've had them licensed for at least 3 years, so at some point, we should get them dubbed.
-
That would be amazing, but I'm not going to get my hopes up again.
-
Hmm. That only has the first half of Dressrosa. Sure would be annoying to get a hiatus mid-arc.
-
Well, looks like there's been a lot of encouraging news since I last checked in, here's hoping for that announcement next week.
Also, as of today it's been 12 years of Funipiece, gang. Can you believe it?
-
Wow, 12 years?. That's crazy. It'd be cool if Toei let Funimation put all of Punk Hazard on Funimation Now for the anniversary, ahead of home video.

I’ve been praying for something like this—or at least the first set.

For the Episode of Sanji bit, after a close rewatch and comparison: I think you guys said Ghin was replaced, but he sounds extremely similar, so that’s good. Krieg sounds identical too. Luckily, Zeff only has a few lines; his new actor is the weakest on display here (I felt the same about Kinnemon on the Dressrosa recap set). His younger version does a slightly better job—assuming that’s still the same actor. It isn’t quite as deep as the older version, which risks sounding a little fake. Seems like there’s almost always one botched or entirely different voice each “episode”—Shanks, then Django, then Zeff.
Man, that Ghin vs Sanji fight had some slick animation. This special is such a masterclass in recapping; they should hire this writer to write the recaps for every episode of the anime. He’s really good at figuring out the important story beats and eliminating anything superfluous.
Re NYCC:
So the bar is PH; here’s hoping they exceed expectations for the anniversary instead of just meeting them. -

Andy Mullins returned as Don Krieg. Which is good for when Wapol eventually returns.
I was planning on not picking up Episode of Skypiea, just because of how weak it is. But I may anyway, just to see if they decide to consistently give Eneru his laugh now.
-
I’ll pick it up, albeit bitterly. Must…support...series...
My least favorite arc in a poorly written/edited clip show format. Ugh. Might be more enjoyable in English than it was in Japanese, though. One Piece, more than other shows, usually is.

I feel the same, (though I like Skypiea), I was expecting so much from a Skypiea movie, but it was disappointing. I wanna support the dub though, and I'm hoping I'll like it more. Kinda worked for Nebulandia, though that's still my least favorite of the specials
-
Huh? I think you misread something.
My mistake I thought you said there was a bar at the NYCC that was dressed up to be PH themed

Which should be soon, since Wapol is in Stampede

Funimation have announced their plans for NYCC on their blog. Oddly, as of right now, there's no One Piece panels but, at the bottom it does say more to be revealed. If they don't add a panel, then unless it's a random social media tweet, we'll likely have to wait until Saturday at the Industry panel.

Colleen Clinkenbeard is going to be there. I’d look at any panels she’s going to be a part of. If she isn’t at the industry panel, we probably won’t get the news there.
I’d be surprised if they don’t have a surprise Stampede screening. Man, wish I could go this year.
-
This is the first time in 8 years that I haven't gone to NYCC, oh well lol. At least I got to meet Colleen Clinkenbeard at last year's panel
-
Is anyone on the forums here going? For those of you who aren't, here's a link to a page that tends to live-update.

Voice actors don't need to be to be present at industry panels for them to announce something…

For the 20th anniversary, I think they're planning to announce it with a little more huzzah.
-
So there's certainly stuff going on this weekend, though it looks like they haven't announced it all yet.
-
We should get a dub Stampede trailer soon too
-
I can't say I've heard of the gentleman who tweeted, but it doesn't seem to indicate Funimation have any involvement. Still hoping for some dub news at least.

What happened to the 20th Anniversary thing on Saturday? Is it just the lightbox show?

The lightbox show was the only One Piece specific thing they had announced for Saturday
-
I think we just wait till the industry panel, we wouldn't get anything at these other panels.
-
Do we know for sure we're getting a dub announcement for more TV episodes?. I agree, I think the Industry panel is the most likely.
-
Doesn’t the convention technically start today? Long wait for Saturday, assuming they wait till then.

It does start today. It seems all the major panels etc all take place over the weekend oddly.

Zephray went on a tour at FUNimation and said we should expect something at NYCC which he wouldn't elaborate on, so we'll see if that comes to fruition.

Trust me, I'll be the most disappointed of all of us if it falls through for some reason. haha. It does seem weird to me that they'd announce something without even having an OP panel. Maybe a surprise panel incoming? Idk if they do that.
-
NYCC has already started; any planned panels should be announced at this point.
If Funimation plan to make an announcement it's most likely going to be at the industry panel. They don’t need to have an OP-centric panel or anything to announce something.

There is a One Piece event from Funimation. It's a 20th Anniversary event starting at 20.00pm on Saturday until midnight. It's on their blog. It does say beneath that there is more to be revealed - not sure if that's more in terms of events and panels in general, or specific to One Piece.

Yes, I’m aware, but it’s not really a con panel

Or it means they haven’t updated that post to remove that statement. Again, the con has already started and there has been no word from Funi or the con itself about a One Piece panel, so I see no reason to expect any.

I feel like I’ve heard of surprise screenings before. I won’t be surprised if they have a sudden Stampede screening for attendees. In any case, I’m anxious for Saturday; here’s hoping that’s the day.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Been rewatching episode of East Blue. For the Nami episode, most everyone sounds the same but ever so slightly different—Belemere, Cho, Genzo, and Nojiko. But you can only tell small differences if you listen to them side by side, so it’s really no big deal. Just comes with aging and trying to get back into the exact tone of a very old character—hard thing to avoid. Nezumi was the only stand out difference, but the new actor was trying to imitate the old one, so the difference wasn’t too too extreme. Arlong sounds pitch-perfect; that actor really knows that voice.
So I guess in the end my initial statement about the characters sounding different was half right and half wrong—from bad memory. There are a few characters who sound notably different in this special, but most characters sound exactly the same or very close; I think Shanks and Young Luffy bothered me the most.
-
Today’s the day (I hope!)! Weirdly, they don’t have any panels scheduled for Sunday.
-
Just over an hour remaining until the panel. Please Funimation. I can't take this any more.
-
Is there going to be a livestream?

They haven't mentioned one, so I'd say no. I hang around on twitter and search using the Funimation Panel hash tag.

Here is a live blog of the industry panel:

I hope a snapchat filter won't be the only OP related thing lol
