It's worrying that they chose a action scene that was minimal movement lol. Genos flying through purple space was not impressive.
Onepunch-Man (redrawn version)

The animation is so stiff in that trailer. Other than that its fine. I really hope the movement animation becomes more dynamic throughout season 2s production.
-
-
Well guys to tell you the truth not 1 not 2 were special both looked like some random dude made them completely out of sync. Number one just had the appeal of NEW and appeal of the great music we all love in the background.
So yeah… looking forward to season 2 ;)

ONE PUNCH-MAN 147 RAW
-
Finally.. well PPP got sort of vibration upgrade, Im not his fan but oh well.
Nyan looks weird with his ability to get thin but I hope he will be a match for Engine Knight- I expect them to fight later on

Translated.

Nyah seems like a cool character, PPP got boosted that he now seems to be around Genos level at least.
-
Deep kiss punishment… holy moly
-
You do sorta feel bad for those guys he raped in prison.
I mean sure they are serial killers but still
-
I hate this character.
-
I hate this character.
He hardly can be called a hero based on what he does outside of his hero activities.. he is delusional man rapist.. but for most part he uses his strength to beat stronger foes.
Him being delusional because of "love" is funny in its own right but at same time he is unlikable for me. Later on this arc
! he will threaten Darkshine with a kiss or something like that If I remember correctly and it was quite distrubing honestly.. but at least Prisoner gets beaten A LOT in this arc.
-
Yeah. He's a super problematic character. The delusional bit could be funny if he hadn't done anything. It's terrible because on one hand it's funny he thinks he's average. On the other you know he can overpower pretty much most dudes. Also his design in general hurts.
-
He always makes me think about that Chappelle bit about the Houston man-rapist.

Not a sketch I'm familiar with

What's really funny is that, for all that, Prisoner is still one of the more conscientious S-class heroes.

Kind of like how hitler had a soft spot for animals
-
Were all those rape jokes even in the original?
-
It's difficult for me to dislike Prisoner, but at the same time I really do.
Like, I really enjoy his gag in general, with the boyfriend-knit sweater and the Cat Cadre refusing to fight Pri-Pri (because as a cat he hates having love forced on him) ….. but the rapist aspects remain disturbing. It would be bearable if he were just a really uncomfortable dude, limited to long hugs and winking eyes, but sadly there is a lot more going on.
I think I will need to meditate on this. Maybe this is what people call "forbidden love"?
-
-
I made that joke 2 pages ago!
Ahaha, apparently you did! There is a slight difference though!
I'm talking about the forbidden love a reader has for a rapey fictional character, while you question wether rape is forbidden love because it's illegal!
Still you are clearly my long-lost brother from another even longer-lost mother.
-
Prisoner would have been an amazing 80s-90s era wrestling heel. Imagine him fighting an in his prime Ricky Steamboat. (has anyone ever done an analysis on the similarities between anime villains/heroes and wrestling heels/babyfaces. I can't watch Stardust Crusaders without thinking Araki is a huge wrestling fan)

I wish there was a smiley indicating that my comment was rather playful and not angry at all.
-
Nyan is lucky he didnt meet Shane Dawson….or Shokotan
-
Prisoner rape is very popular trope. Maybe that explains why I didn't find the chapter disturbing at all but hillarious, on the contrary. As Ubiq sugests, Pri Pri is a man of principle and that's really funny. It fits the parody vibe of the whole manga perfectly well imo.
-
Maybe he doesn't rape them but he tries to hug them into redemption?
I got nothing, except how most of the prisioners like him. But if the manga specifically said rape…

The forced deep kisses make him a rapist, by definition.
I don't think there was more severe stuff implied in either version, since the prisoners brought it up as the worst of his punishments.
-

Don't remember, doesn't matter. This is the canon stuff now.
-
Murata's currently geeking out hard over Spider-Verse.
-
If this was released weeks ago, there wouldnt have been a lot of complains imo.

If people learned to not judge a book by its cover and stopped acting like rabid idiots at the smallest detail threads and conversations in general would be more comfy.
-
Why would that keep them from complaining? It didn’t show anything and what it did show wasn’t impressive.

Yeah, am I missing something? @LordPerucho?
The trailer shows still-shots, old material, Garou talking?
-
The only thing it would have going for it was that it's clearly a pretty light promo in terms of what it would show off with no action scenes to really say "woooow they really turned down the animation quality"
But it still didn't show any of the mindblowing animation quality of S1 so not sure what it would have dissuaded otherwise in terms of complaints?

Writing and directing are more important than sakuga animation. Mob Psycho 100 Season 2 had excellent animation but rushed character development moments(Toichiro turning good) and they also cut a good chunk of the manga material.

The part with Vaccine Man seems to be from Extra Chapter 80.9, I wonder if they will animate the extra chapters(one thing Season 1 didnt bother to do).

Neither of these issues are particularly well conveyed through the trailer, and the issue you're bringing up about writing, direction, and cut content are kinda things not going to be directly addressed in a trailer? Mob Psycho's issue with that has nothing to do with the studio doing it more that they had to cover a huge swathe of chapters and content in the span of a 13 episode season, kind of like Kaguya this season cutting ten chapters out of its season one adaption out of necessity (and still rushing certain parts to cover the main meat of the first segment of the manga). This is an inherent limitation of cour being built around 11-13 episodes and would likely be difficult to avoid unless there was more flexibility in seasonal design (and even then, Mob was a solid 13 episodes that covered the essential parts of the series and did it well. Also Kaguya). That wouldn't mean I wouldn't recommend people to read the manga (and for both series, I definitely have), but on the other hand, it's those sort of idiosyncracies of doing things that can only be done in anime that make the anime seasons worth a recommendation to watch as well because it takes advantage of the medium. Same with S1 of OPM given how insanely good it is (and is good for a casual anime watcher)
At least this arc for OPM was given some more breathing room between Garou's appearance and the Monster Association confrontation? Perhaps that's by design given that the whole martial arts tournament and stuff is completely new material written by ONE, figuring that Garou -> Monster Association would be difficult to adapt in one straight segment? But the trailer posted probably would do little to dissuade people otherwise from its inherently lower quality compared to Madhouse's production (which was astoundingly good even considering cut content and not considering the OVAs they produced). That doesn't mean that the season can't be good, but I would say that to assert that this low quality PV being posted first would have improved expectations is optimistic at best
-
Season 2 anime? A shame. Trash. Will not watch. Hope it completely fails. But people are dumb, so… and that's why they feel allowed to produce trash without shame or fear it will flop. That's the industry for you. Season 1 was a miracle.

There is a big chance S2 will have quite a lot of stills, but casuals love still frames(Jojo and Attack on Titans). I will say that if Season 2 resembles the likes of Toriko, Berserk, Kingdom S1 anime then yes it would be an utter failure.

We have yet to see an episode of S2 and you are already saying that?
Let's wait and then judge and try to be as objective as possible.
-
I can't think of an anime with a super terrible trailer that miraculously turned out extraordinary. I even have a hard time when I extend my horizon to other media.

I take it you never saw the kings man movie?
Edit: never mind, I didn't see that you said anime trailer, my bad

I guess he firsthand saw those thousands of top notch directors and key animators that are available every season, pumping out shitty animes, ON PURPOSE.

i thought one piece looked awefull from the intro that i once saw on tv, how could i like a show about someone stretching his arms? its crazy right?

The difference is we already had a 1st season with stellar animation that did a totally hype looking promo. One Piece has always had a goofy style and kinda wonky animation. Anything less than what Mad House gave us for season 1 would pretty much look lack luster. If it started off the other way around going from meh to whooaaa! It'd be different.
