Most of MCU films will be forgotten in the decades to come. As a package it's a great achievement. Individually it's too manufactured.

I'm in the minority of Thor Ragnarok. I didn't like it as much as most. I don't think it will be in the test of time group.

I like Dr. Strange just fine, hell I like all but 1 of the MCU movies. It's just not top tier for me.
I mean alot of them will probably be looked back upon and enjoyed in the same sense you look back at old Stallone or Schwartznegger movies. I mean Commando ain't a masterpiece by any means but it's indicative of an era and a style of film. But like all time classics? I can't right now think of any marvel film that i think will be thought of as a truly great piece of cinema. But eh time will tell i suppose

There are several tiers, but generally, in term's of a movie that that did something new or was the start of something will be remembered. Yes, Commando ain't a masterpiece, and I'm too young to say this for a certain (not even born), but in it's class it stood at the top.
Homecoming was fun. But did it have amazing acting? A scene people will recite in the future? Amazing action? Amazing drama? No, it was just there. There's nothing there for it to live on. Will it overshadow the original spider-man? I doubt it. Same for Doctor Strange and several others.
Iron Man is certainly on top, for having started it all (even though it may not be the best), and Avengers is up there for what it accomplished. Infinity War though, it's in the middle. It put everyone in the same movie but, the first Avengers has already taken that glory. I know some people lost their minds over it, but they're just high at the idea of all these characters meeting. If you look at the individual scenes, dialogue, action, drama, humor … for an average viewer, it's nothing special.
Winter Soldier did something interesting and new, and for that it can stay there.
I may sound extremely negative, I just really don't want all the superheroes movies to be made by one company, in which all have the same family-fun vibe. Then we may never have gotten Into the Spider-Verse, or Deadpool, or Legion, or Logan, or Daredevil and Jessica Jones (special case).

These are all classics in their own way to me. Thor Ragnarok has a chance too, I guess, but everything else will be forgotten. Movies that haven't released yet are, of course, still pending.

I won free Captain Marvel IMAX tickets (I swear, I must be the only one bothering to enter in the raffle for them at that store, this is the fifth time). Probably going to wait til next week so the theater isn't quite as sardine-packed (I'm not as opposed to that but my friends I'm taking are). They're talking about marathoning the whole MCU before we go but I'm like, let's wait for Endgame to do that.
Shame Disney don't own the rights to X-Men yet. Because my girl Rogue stealing her power is the best thing about Captain Marvel.
Black Panther actually might be the biggest thing to stand out of the MCU, not only for being a really good movie but for the HUGE cultural and social impact.

I get the cat isn't really a cat but seriously WTF

The funniest for me are Guardians 1 and 2, Thor 3, and Ant Man, and I wouldn't put any of them up there with my favorite comedies, but if they rank like that for you, more power to ya. Deadpool is the premiere comedy/superhero film for me, whereas my favorite overall comedies for the decade have been This is the End and 21 Jump Street. 2000s were much better imo.

A couple of my friends have seen it and they absolutely love it. So I have hope?
Saw the movie, it was okay. On par for me with iron man 2 and 3, doctor strange, the ant-mans etc. Not needed to be seen in the cinema to be able to enjoy endgame, cause it barely provides anything new to the lore, actually confuses and slightly retcons some stuff or introduces small plot holes instead.
But overall majority of normal moviegoers will probably have a good time.
Brie definitely had some moments where she maybe was too stoic, but overall I think she is nowhere near wooden as some people say, and her performance is also not outstanding as others suggest on the opposite side. She did a fine job and hopefully becomes better with subsequent movies. I think a problem also lies in the weak script and direction of the movie overall that led to some of her acting ups and downs.
Would have loved too see the conflict between the kree and the skrulls fleshed out more. Ben Mendelson was good, so was Jackson, even though I hate the explanation of how he lost his eye. Ronan was a glorified cameo.

I just saw it tonight. I really enjoyed it overall. Despite some of the jokes just falling flat. The 2nd post credits being one of them. But that tends to happen when there's more than one.
I saw it in 3D because normal was sold out. But man. Now I can't picture how it would be without it lol. There was definitely some fancy shots in there.

I would say it is this one more than an actual arc.
I think the movie was pretty mediocre, honestly.
It was entertaining, but did very little to step outside the standard Marvel superhero film algorithm. And yeah, Brie was the least interesting on camera, which seems a little silly for the main character.

Can't say for MCU for I haven't seen the movie, but for the comics is basically that since her last memory reboot. But boy would Carol be a better character if she was allowed to have flaws and struggles instead of trying so hard to make her Marvel's Wonder Woman.

God, I wish she were half as good a character as Wonder Woman, in the films or comics. Kamala is great, though and I think will be a real icon decades from now.

Carol's greatest contribution for a long time was she gave Rogue on the X-men a crazy power set.
I really liked that one time she and M.O.D.O.K were a couple.
And about the Rogue thing, I can't stop thinking that maybe Rogue bacame such a popular character that they needed to give her something more than a Temporary Power Draining Ability.
Rogue had a bunch of interesting things going on for her, in the 90's cartoon they really underused the power drain in favor of the flying brick powerset, but the southern charm, being the badass of the team (tanking and dishing damage), not being handicaped by censors (no knives, or super healing requiring showing wounds, just punching and invulnerability), power drain IS interesting, her power being also a curse, and being part of the better couple than the annoying love triangle of bland, blander and old enough to be your grandpa.
The 00's cartoon versions leave the angst and power drain, leaving everything else out, and turning her into the resident goth.
I found the facade of being happy but hurting inside from the issolation to be way more endearing and relatable than "I am darks".
Can't speak about the comics tho. I gravitate to the big crossover events (or closed stories of small teams), and as mutants don't make that much sense on a world with enough superpowered individuals to make armies, and personal weapons of mass destruction, the XMen tend to stay at the sidelines for those.

She gives birth on Earth to a child that rapidly ages into another version of Marcus, who is ultimately unable to remain on Earth after Hawkeye mistakenly damages his machine, takes Ms. Marvel back to the alternate dimension with no opposition from the Avengers, who perceive Ms. Marvel and Marcus to have fallen in love. Comic book historian Carol A. Strickland criticized the storyline in an essay titled "The Rape of Ms. Marvel".[14] Citing Marcus' line, "Finally, after relative weeks of such efforts—and admittedly, with a subtle boost from Immortus' machines—you became mine", Strickland posited that this constituted rape. Kamala is great I just worry that now that Wilson left the boat she will be used more like a writer's mouthpiece, akin to Champions, than as the quirky coming of age neighborhood friendly teen super hero, like most of Wilson's run.

I LOVED this movie. I am super duper biased, but as someone who has loved Carol Danvers for years and even cosplays her, I freaking loved this movie.
It's clear they based it on the Kelly Sue DeConnick run. Like SUPER obvious. I'm glad they did since it's my favorite run of hers BY FAR.
The chemistry between Brie Larson, Sam Jackson, and later Lashana Lynch was probably the best part. Also, the little girl they got to play Monica was great.
Ben Mendelsohn was also surprisingly awesome. Everything they did with Talos was surprising in a really good way.
Spoilers from here since I can't think of any other non-spoilery stuff.
! I knew they were changing the Origin but I didn't exactly know how. After I read the Life of Captain Marvel mini that came out not too long ago I ASSUMED it was being rolled out to set up parity with the comics and movie but they surprisingly didn't go with that origin. They went with a modified but still basically faithful version of her actual origin.
! The big differences are obviously that Mar-Vell was a man originally, he survived the event, and it was a "Psycho-Magnetron" that did it, not an Infinity Stone powered lightspeed engine. Otherwise, pretty faithful all things considered.
Still Carol getting changed up, still Yon-Rogg as the baddie etc.
! The Skrulls being basically good guys is an interesting angle TBH. I'm quite intrigued by it. Wonder if ALL Skrulls are good guys in the MCU or if it's just this cell of them? Secret Invasion is still possible then I guess.
! There is comic book precedent for good cells of Skrulls while the overall empire is still bad. Most recent I can think is the town of Skrulls Hawkeye encountered in Occupy Avengers. They were just a regular farm town of Skrulls trying to keep their heads down and have a good life.
! Also, ALL the bits from the Kelly Sue Deconnick Run made me smile. Monica being Lt. Trouble was a big one.
! OH, and I'm SO GLAD Carol didn't name Goose. She doesn't get her memories back until the end and even then I'm not sure how much she remembers, so her being a goofy Star Wars nerd in the future is still totally doable, so I'm happy about that.

Nah, Monica would be like 30ish in present day. IronHeart needs to be a college person. They already seeded Monica getting her comic codename, it's the name of her Mom's callsign "Photon" which was her first Post-Captain Marvel codename IIRC. Personally I prefer Spectrum for Monica but either works.
Riri is the obvious next step for the Iron Man franchise post Endgame. She's an interesting new twist on the concept, and it opens the door to Robert Downey Jr. possibly coming back in a reduced, cheaper, and more managable capacity.
COMICS SPOILERS ahead. No guarantee this stuff is gonna be used in the movies, but some might consider them spoilers just in case.
! In the comics, Tony goes into a Coma from the
bad writingevents of Civil War II and the majority of Riri's tenure in the "Invincible Iron Man" book is her being mentored by an AI of Tony.
! This means they could in theory bring back RDJ to do a sit down voice recording role. When talking about not doing an Iron Man 4 he said his biggest issue was how physically demanding it was and that he was cool making appearances in Avengers and Spider-Man movies because him not being the only main character means less screen time which means it's easier to do it all. Being just a voice and MAYBE a face on a hologram makes it EVEN EASIER to have him around, plus this wouldn't diminish the real Tony death/sendoff he gets in Avengers Endgame
! Plus, just in case they can't get him back AT ALL, the concept of Riri still works without Tony period with minimal tweaking.
! I'd be surprised if Riri isn't where we're headed on the Iron Man side of things.
