@Kishido:
That's why I said it is a shit forum… But that isn't my point.
The point is they at least try to bring people in, even if the ways are stupid and I do not want to have all this shit here... Hell know it is the main source for spoilers for some people.
But I feel this forum isn't even trying anymore that much and is just happy at is... But with time... we will even be less and less ... and less if we do not bring new people in.
A lot of people who had a huge standing and influence into me left... But I do not see too much new.
Of course for reasons you stated, even if I disgaree with the Marinford boom... Hell even after it it was pretty active like I am on my 30s on my own and a dad of a 2 years old daughter... And I do not have the time like in the past like a lot of us nor I find OP as apealing as in the past...
Still I do care for the future of this forum beyond maybe my time when I truly will have no desire or time... And I do not see it that much.
Who knows… Maybe RomanceDawn himself will lose interest
But everything is said… And I won't leave and thiw will always be my platform numero 1... And maybe my feeling is simply wrong and the statistic isn't as bad as the feel.
PS
The engine is still outdated as fuck...
One Piece is in my DNA like Nintendo and Chinese martial arts. These things define me and I'm shamelessly proud of that. Unless Oda completely goes off of his rocker I don't think I'll ever lose interest. Though maybe you meant the forum in and of itself? Smash Brothers discussion swept me off of my feet like never before with the announcement of Ridley so I have been obsessed with talking about it over at Resetera since about June of last year. Though I'm always checking in to see what people are talking about, always reading the chapters day of release and looking out for what Robby, Stephen or Greg has to say about anything.
I will say though when negativity piles on I generally just don't engage. I don't particularly care if people are kind of toxic to one another from time to time as it's certainly a friendlier atmosphere here than it was 10 years ago. I have a hard time joining in a discussion when i'm excited about something while everyone else is on the hate wagon. Especially near the end of an arc. Any arc, pick one. It seems like every other chapter near an arcs end there is some new outrage and Oda is a hack writer.
Your disappointment for all things Sanji for the last half decade is just so over blown to me. The way you and half the forum talk about him is just off putting and usually I just don't engage. I can't convince anyone to like something they don't like so I just don't say anything. For instance I love Sanji's relationship and interactions with Nami and Robin and I feel like just saying that would get me in trouble in some circles.
Oro Jackson is even worse with their tier wars. Like I remember a topic had to go up to clarrify why Sanji got a higher bounty than Zoro. Lets all be clear, it's not because Sanji's stronger, just remember that! Puhlease!
That goes for each crew mate, I have a ton of love for each of them and when the haters start hating I often just back off. To me the characters are more or less the same people as when they were first introduced and thats why One Piece still appeals to me. Though I do like to jump into the defense force when I feel like a Straw Hat is being piled on for some event or action when I think the story supported said event or action.
Going back to power levels and tier discussions, when I first started watching One Piece I found this forum because I wanted to know how others theorized the characters would power up. I kept wondering how would Sanji, Luffy or Zoro ever be able to hit Aokiji? Those discussions are really fun but naturally it's going to lead into stupid power level comparisons and when you can't discuss that as openly as you want you will take that discussion else where.
As for the second bolded statement this forum is old and Oro Jackson does have a layout and presentation that is a bit more appealing with more modern utility. Couple that with their anything and everything goes for topic creation it's no wonder that newer people flock there.
@Big:
Random question to the Mods/Admins:
Doesn't the fact that this forum doesn't get THAT much traffic/new members simply reflect the general trend where more and more things are on YouTube/Facebook/Instagram/SnapChat or whatever new Social Media is popular in your country?
I personally think I'm part-time stuck in the 2000s, classic boards like this I've always liked. I don't participate in social media and I am a damn nostalgic who really hasn't grown that accustomed to the 2010s in a way, but I don't think you could ever get THAT much participation/discussion/new members as you might have gotten over 10 years ago.
I for once cherish simple message boards like this and always thought of apforums as the more "elite" board in comparison to OroJackson. I like it that way. (Yeah, I know how this sounds :ninja: ).
The bolded is definitely a big part of it. A lot has changed in the last 10+ years and people just have many more outlets to choose from.
