This doesn't exactly fall under politics either does it? This was about inclusion and or exclusion in media.

It appears Disney has no plans of rehiring Gunn.
in other news, water is wet. -

Also I saw Ant Man and the Wasp last weekend. It needs a second viewing, but I probably rank it the second worst of the Marvel lot, which is a shame cause the first Ant-Man is so good.
-
Oh no, there are several worse movies in the list.
They've got a roster, long as they save Doom for the second film instead of squandering him in the origin AGAIN. (he can be post credits). They can also borrow from the rest of the Marvel U as well, since everyone else is borrowed from them already. Heck, Spiderman and Torch traditionally get along, and Hulk is often matched against Thing.
Doom started as a scientific colleague of Reeds, right? Easy enough to put him in the first movie, but save the Doom transformation for the second.

gape That . . . . needs to be in Deadpool.

@Count:
Before or after people accuse Marvel of ripping off DC's Aquaman by making a Namor movie?
HAHAHAHA love it
also just thought of this, the entire first antman movie they talked about how shrinking down without a helmet could cause mental illness, yet in this one they shrink down a ton in those cars without any helmet all the damn time, just food for thought
-
The point was to shrink in closed spaces, that's why the car can't open when shrunk. The helmet is just a portable breathing space.
The ilogical part is:
! The microverse

@Count:
MCU Spidey is taking their time by starting with low-time villains like Vulture and Mysterio.
And Scorpion as well, technically.

If he can be included, then we may as well throw in the Tinkerer, Prowler, and two Shockers.

It wasn't great, but it was entertaining which is a pretty big factor for me. That's why the first Thor sits so low on my list, but Iron Man 3 sits comfortably at the bottom for all the horrible choices they made. At least it didn't feel like characters were being butchered here, but yes, A-M&tW left a lot to be desired. It's hard to come up with something great when you have the twin constraints of the fallout from Civil War and not having anything earth-shaking happen before Infinity War.
-
Ant-Man and the Wasp was entertaining for sure, and I'll probably enjoy more a second time, but it wasn't that solid "ham and eggs" film that was so welcome after the caviar of Age of Ultron, and that's a shame.
Oh well, you can't win em all and it is better then Thor the Dark World (still honestly probably the single worst thing we did, and Marvel fans gave WAY too much of a pass too)
-
If we didn't forgive the dark world, we might not have gotten Infinity Wars. I find that both uplifting and terrifying.
-
what happened in dark world? i only remember jane foster being a weapon or something.
…..did they retire her character?
-
I guess so. I mean … Thor doesn't even mention her anymore. In Infinity War he wasn't like "oh wait, there is still this girl i like/d!".
It's probably for the best. For me she and Kat Dennings (i don't even want to think about that SHE had a sidekick too ...) we're one of the weakest parts of the first two movies.
Although Dark World had a lot more problems for sure. -
I'm pretty sure in Ragnarok they made it very clear they didn't plan on using her (at LEAST for the movie….clearly, in Infinity War they didn't even care to refer to her or ANYONE else involved with her party including that one guy who I thought was a part of SHIELD but...whatever who cares). I presume, much like with the Hulk movie characters, they pretty much dumped them in the bin until they MIGHT need them again such as like Thunderbolt Ross...though I wonder whatever happened to the "Leader" or Abomination. Shrug
-

Jane had the energy of the Reality Stone inside her.
-
That could be a plot hook for trying to beat Thanos, find remanants of the stones and… do something.
With the over emphasis on sacrifice (Vision for Mind, Gamora for Reality and then Soul), and trading lives for the stones (Thor for Space, Nebula for Soul, Tony for Time), I guess that price is going to be the catalyst for something.
-

Leader, no freakin' clue. But if you watch Agents of SHIELD, in season 1 they offhandedly remark that Abomination's (though they just refer to him as Blonsky because unlike Hulk, the nickname never stuck) in a cryogenic prison facility in Barrow, Alaska (where that neat vampire movie 30 Days of Night was set, I think).
-
It was mentioned at the beginning of Ragnarok that Jane and Thor split up. And I didn't care about her at all so I was fine with that. I don't think Dark World is egregiously bad, it's just by far Marvel's blandest movie. It's little more than a big fight against a generic doomsday villain that doesn't really succeed at telling any other kind of story, and Loki was the only character who held my attention.
-
@Kaido:

in the same way Bruce and what's her name, Betty, Betsy? back in the 2008 Hulk movie?
They might get a mention in the post-Thanos world next movie, but I guess their roles are over.

To me, Dark World fixed all the problems I had with the first Thor. I wasn't bored most of the time, I laughed a hell of a lot more than I did during the first one, I enjoyed the fights a lot more and the atmosphere (more Asgard, more of other realms) and it was nice seeing the 'new' Thor after the first film and the Avengers where he's no longer interested in the throne and more of an adventurer than a would-be king. Makes him much more accustomed to the role he played in Ragnarok and Infinity War so it served a purpose. It also actually had some stakes like his mother dying, while Iron Man 3 didn't really do anything significant that lasted.

I agree with your comparison between Thor 1 and 2. Dark World was at least more fun.
-
I didn't see Thor 2 until the night before Thor 3 came out.
I saw it that recently and swear I can't tell you a single thing that happened in it. I don't think I could tell you even an hour after seeing it.
Except for Loki "dying", but mostly because Ragnarok made fun of the scene.
-

At a guess, the situation with Universal holding distribution rights to Hulk films makes Marvel reluctant to use characters from that comic in films except in relatively minor, secondary roles. That's why a condensed Planet Hulk story was the B-plot of Ragnarok instead of its own film.
If so, we probably won't see either of them unless they're part of a group.
-
Do have to wonder when they'll get around to She-Hulk, that feels like something they might just be saving for after they lose most of the main regulars after Avengers 4. She could very easily be a staple in the next set.
Though we already have tough green girl Gamora so maybe that's a factor too.
They're plenty different in terms story and personalities and location, but to a regular audience they'd be pretty close appearance and power wise.

The character I wonder about is Spider-Woman. I feel like she would get a name change just so people don't immediately assume she's closely related to Spider-Man. And to just avoid any rights shenanigans with Sony.
I also wouldn't be surprised if they make her costume look similar to Spider-Gwen's just because of how popular that design is and how she too used to be called Spider Woman (she's going by Ghost Spider now).

Secret Wars movie, anyone? That would give them an excuse to bring back even dead villains and throw them all together.

They could always take a page out of Ultimate Spider-Man's playbook and make her Peter's clone.

And I thought Wolf Spider was a corny name.

And I thought Wolf Spider was a corny name.
I had a sort of idea for a character called White Spider, who'd be the daughter of Peter Parker and Ava Ayala from the Ultimate Spider-Man animated series. Probably as corny as it gets.
-
^ Yeah that one wasn't meant to be.
-

I always loved when Ultimate Human Torch told Ultimate Spider-man (his best friend) that he made out with ultimate Spider Woman, and Peter freaked the hell out and ran away to go get some air and figure things out

Stan Lee has officially retired from any further public appearances. Sad, but he's 95 let the geezer rest.

As in no more movies cameos? Yeah, sucks, but totally understandable.
-
That, and likely no more Comic-Cons either.
-
So, his last one was in Antman and the wasp? Or IW2 or CapMarvel are already recorded?
-
It'd be nice if IW2 was his final movie. That would be a perfect send-off for him.
-
Infinity War 2 should be completely filmed, yes.
It's a fitting send of for him. Still sad but it's understandable. -

His most recent cameo was in the Teen Titans Go movie.
-
I would hope for one last cameo in Spider-Man: Far from Home as a last personal hurrah with his biggest character. But Avengers 4 is still a fine sendoff.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Sony just topped DC for stupid sounding cinematic universe names.
-
SUMC - Sony's Universe of Marvel Characters. LMAO
-
Sony's Universe of Marvel Characters That Aren't Already Part of the Established Marvel Cinematic Universe and Maybe Some Other Stuff.
Or SUMCTAAPEMCUMSOS
-
I know last time they did Stan's movie cameos, they filmed like four of them all in one day. With computers and all he doesn't actually need to be on set or act or anything. I know he wasn't in the room for Deadpool and he was dissapointed about that.
IW would be a good send off and he should have a spot in that.
They could also start hiring guys that look like Stan Lee just to continue the tradition.
-

Eh, I feel like that's kinda defeating the purpose. The point of the cameos was to pay tribute the creator and the superheroes' origins by having Stan Lee himself appear, while also adding some levity and humor. Stan Lee look-alikes would just feel kinda hollow.
And to think this all started (I think) with that cameo in X-Men where you could barely see him in the background.
-
Yes, but they established that he's the Watcher! Or a Watcher assistant at any rate.
-
real quick, he's retired from cons and signings. Not Cameos. I doubt he'll ever willingly stop that because he loves it so much.
-
Plus doesn't he live in LA? Don't think it's too hard for them to get him to a studio and film a bunch in bulk like before.
I'm also for referencing him in ways like Deadpool 2 did, when they couldn't get the man himself.
EDIT:
So I'm waiting on more valid sources because I'm on my phone and busy right now, and the only sources I'm seeing are random instagram accounts and Breitbart. But articles are floating of Gunn being at some "how to catch a predator" themed party. Make of that what you will.

Breitbart is literally a propoganda machine, and actively grinding an axe against him for the sake of Trump, they're the sort that got him fired in the first place. So… some source other than them would be a place to start.
-
My friend had told me Disney already knew about all that stuff when they hired Gunn, so it's not like they cared then. This 'outcry' making them take this action is cowardly in the extreme. How many Mickey dolls do we need to burn in effigy until they change their mind?
-
I dunno how this Gunn this gonna go. At one point we have articles on Disney maybe taking him back then another round of pictures of him going to pedophile themed parties show up…How do you try to take someone back from that? Awful tweets forever ago are one thing but pictures along with a common theme. That's dicey.

Wasn't that just a Halloween party?
