Pekoms would be great addition to Strawhats at least for Wano arc.
It would be also cool if he would reform Nox Pirates and join Luffys fleet.

yea he's so used to people scapegoating for him by now none of us will ever be surprised again. it's pretty established this is one of Luffy's innate abilities, the color of plot armament haki.
Dude is tired as hell. He even fell asleep with sanji seconds later. You really should double check your expectations.
I wouldn't mind Pekoms going along for the ride.
As some have pointed out in the spoiler thread, the giant Stansen from Hajrudin's crew is not a new character. The timeskip did wonder for him, btw.
So Smoothie decided to stop chasing/attacking the Sunny and keep them trapped between her fleet and the big fleet surrounding Cacao Island. Hmmm… ok... WHY??? I mean... WHY??? They were caught, for f*** sake, they don't have anywhere to run if she decided to attack again but "oh, let's just stop and call more ships. More ships to do nothing".
My hopes that Sanji had actually replaced the cigarette for the lollipop died fast. Unless that lollipop is on fire, that's a cigarette alright. Oh well, it would be fun but it's not a big deal. It's not even a small one.
Sad Sulong!Pekoms seem like a feral werelion instead of the mid-aged salary(werelion)man I was hoping for. I can never get what I want... Anyways, Pekoms is just as lovable as they come and I live for any moment with this guy. He is one of my favorite BMP and being a fan of the crew I really liked him here, but if him betraying them means we'll get more of him in the coming arcs I am all for it.
I know that I am biased because I am always rooting for the villains in any story I follow and I particularly like the BMP, but I REALLY hope the SH/Germa get completely crushed here and only manage to escape thanks to the development of Firetanks+Big Mom. It's not going to happen, but I wish it would and the real reason for it is: this has long developed into a full blown direct fight against a Yonkou crew, and even though Oda has made many moments where the SH would have been defeated if not for some outside force (like the Tamatebako), I still think this whole thing is leaving the taste that "half the SH - and a half without Zoro - can defeat a Yonkou crew directly... provided they gome a few allies".
At this point, I am seriously getting the feeling that if the SH went all to Totto Land, they would have destroyed the BMP. Sure at some point they would hit the impassable wall that is Linlin, but for anyone below her it would be a defeat - and I still think it is too early for that.
At this point Sanji, Jinbe, Nami, Chopper and Brook are perfectly fine and I honestly can't see how them + Zoro, Franky, Usopp and Robin wouldn't be able to handle Smoothie, Snack and Oven. Sure the BMP still have many other strong fighters, but they just don't seem like a threat at this point.
Oven can heat things just by looking at them. This fruit is even closer to become my favorite now (Nagi Nagi still getting the crown because sweet lovely silence). I still wish he had got a scene with him holding some nameless fodder by the head and heating it up until they fell dead unconscious with their brain cooked.
I hate Oda for not having introduced Yuen before. What a cute fellow.
That Stansen giant is the same guy that Rayleigh saved at the slaves auction back in Sabaody. I can only imagine how happy he was when Hajrudin told him what they were about to do!
I am pretty sure Pekoms is fine. Even though he went berserker, I assume he can use his fighting abilities just fine and he just happen to have a DF that provides him with amazing defensive capabilities.
Also, forgot to mention but Brook and Carrot were missing in all the Sunny panels this time. Maybe they entered the shark submarine and are going to rescue Sanji and Luffy? This could tie with Pekoms going berserker if Carrot somehow manages to calm him down.
As I said in other posts, looks like Sanji is going to get some upgrade using a Black Raid Suit. He looks overpowered by the others constantly in this arc.
Overpowered? The dude hit the 4th son and that one didn't even see it.
I'm still waiting for the Germa's fleet to supercombine into a giant snail megazord, or Sanji's siblings to do a weird combination move mimicking that processs somehow (akin to the Pirate Docking Six attempted during the Thriller Bark Arc)! Maybe next chapter I will get my satisfaction..
Too bad we didn't get to see Pekoms fully transformed, but I rather witness that down the line and get a decently competent showing from the Big Mum pirates instead for now.
Also, wouldn't it have been smart to bring out a beaten Katakuri in order to thouroughly break the morale of the Big Mum pirates? Seeing how most of them see Katakuri as their perfect brother as well as strongest and undefeated fighter, the sight of him badly beaten would have awed them and given an opportunity to make a break for it, I'd say. I'm also pretty sure that his defeat is a pivotal point in Morgan's upcoming big scoop, and I wonder how the public will find out about it now that he has been left in the Mirror World..
Sanji specialises at CoO, luffy just upgraded his CoO to see the future and beat katakuri, yet both can't dodge a ball the size of a house.
And funny how skywalk was the most special thing sanji got after 2 years of training even with flashback to show it, and now bm pirates are like :'' betch, please, anyone can do something as simple as sky walk''lol
The dude hit the 4th son and that one didn't even see it.
Why people keep repeating that? Oven even asked himself who was that guy that attacked him. He clearly saw Sanji, he just failed to react in time (no surprise, since he was attacked mid-attack).
Anyways, Sanji's whole existence is a negation of Judge's beliefs and actions. Him getting a suit - specially if that would remain with him as a power up - would go against everything his backstory was about…
... so yeah, I can see it happening.
Liked the chapter; really short, and Pekoms moment was cut short. . .but visually it had great shots (Sanji kicking Raisin is a reaaaaally cool panel!), it was frantic, and I'm a sucker for the Big Mom Pirates so. . .yeah, cool!
Do you think other members of Hajrudin's crew already appeared ?
Oimo and Kashi ?
pekoms: i wont let pedbro's sacrifice be in vain. aka i'll sacrifice myself as well so you can escape.

Nah, he doesn't need it. Sanji more than likely has an ability he just hasn't unveiled yet and Oda likes teasing the fuck out of us.
@uniaka:

The keywords are "the size of a house" here. And Oda even made Sanji distracted by Pekoms.

Life Return that makes him look more buff/refined and slightly Okamish.
He was not using it because he thinks it looks hideous, he will be pushed to do it. He was frowning after fight with Vergo when he thought what would have happened if fight would have continued. He surely was holding back something. I expect reveal that will make him look like a threat to someone like Owen or even Snack. I might get dissapointed but I am certain that there is something fishy about Sanjis combat power. That + Blue Flamed diable jambe in future(CoA hardening + Diable Jambe).
Also people seem to ignore that Sanji just one-shotted somebody who could have been pre-timeskip Zoro level or more.
They didn't show Baeju's face :(
Judge is probably in his castle dishing out orders to the fleet. He's not exactly a foot soldier. Although I agree with people saying Sanji should under no circumstances get a raid suit as a permanent upgrade, but as a one time deal Black Ranger Sanji should suit up and unleash hell. Equipment is equipment at the end of the day, whether it's a sword, climatact, slingshot, rumble ball, cyborg cannons and being able to jump into a megazord. No one complains about any of those, I want Sanji to suit up at least once and fight with his siblings against the BM pirates. Probably won't happen but it would be a visually stunning thing to see if they do that while Pekoms is on a rampage sulong form and Germa cannons are just firing from the sea like a buster call.

Luffy was sleeping and Sanji was distracted by Pekoms, so would be really difficult for them to use Color of Observation.

He didn't see Sanji because he attacked Pound and said "there is no way that was you" then later he said "who was that just now?" He knew someone attacked him and the person was not Pound but had no clue who the person was.

I got the "there is no way that was you" as an answer to Pound because he was having delusional thoughts that he was surprisingly strong. And of course he didn't had a clue who Sanji was… he was wearing a mask.

It's makes sense considering the overall goal is Luffy's safety.
I thought Sanji would have a Mr Prince type plan but he just grabbed Luffy and tried to make a run for it. I guess those Mr Prince type of plans don't work against Yonko crews they're stacked with 500m+ bounties.
@Galaxy:
I'm pretty sure that was his last bit of energy, since he fell asleep as soon as Sanji grabbed him.
I rather think he goes to sleep because he is in trusty hands not because he has no energy left
All and all ok but i can already see pekoms wrecking havoc next chapter and lol at Sanji again failing…

Yeah, there's not a whole lot of planning that can be done around a whole army/armada
Especially when they know critical details of the escape plan ie the time and location of Luffy's departure from Mirror World
I really like that the Big Mom Pirates took Sanji's Geppou into consideration when it came to stopping Luffy escape
Really shows that they genuinely weren't underestimating the Straw Hats at all
Only thing that bothered me is that Smoothie plans to corner the ship without ever mentioning what countermeasures they plan to take against the Coup de Burst that they all witnessed earlier.

I too like that the Big Mom pirates are at last portrayed as the threat they should have been all along, but still I'll be a bit disappointed if skywalking his way out is all there was to Sanji's plan. I didn't expect some masterclass stratagem that would without fail get them out of sight, but surely he's considered a few steps beyond this obvious part ? Come on, whatever happened to Mr Prince.
Altogether a nice action-packed chapter. I'm just bothered by how easily the entire Germa fleet managed to catch everyone by surprise, not to mention the 4 Vinsmokes casually flying unnoticed through some 10 thousand people before they could reach Luffy & Sanji. They may have both personal and fleet-wide cloaking devices of course, what with being the kingdom of science. But since that wasn't emphasized at all one could think that among those countless Big Mom ships guarding Cacao island, maybe at least one person would have seen them coming… My suspension of disbelief is stretched reaaaaaal thin by this last-minute save, eventhough I'm glad to see them back in action.
DAMN they said gouge out his eyes and someone is seen using a pickaxe and slamming it down with what could be blood on the end. Hardcore.

Germa very likely used "Stealth" technology that Niji used against Sanji at start of this arc.
These unique designs and powers of Big Mom pirates are really appealing. So appealing that I'm a little bit bummed that we're not getting more of them. Remember, back in the day, some swan looking add-ons for shoes and shape shifting swords were used by relatively important characters. It's actually very weird to remember Machvise who had a questionable design with an unexplained tail and a reused weight fruit when Oda could clearly come up with much more interesting stuff as proven with BM pirates. I'm also concerened that Oda might be draining his creative ideas with such minor characters, but then again, it depends on how many crews does he intend to show us in the future.

no doubt Oda's drained of creative ideas. it's all coming to Luffy's luck now and his thicc plot armor
Good that the fight is actually over and the plot seems to be moving again.
Solid chap overall.
I feel like the title of the chapter was not complete; are we sure there weren't a few more Kanji that translate to "…Is Terrible!"
I didn't really get much out of this chapter. I get it was transition, but the chapter ending with the arrival of Germa as if it was a great, unexpected event that we haven't been expecting for the last 20 chapters was odd. Also, Oda just is NOT gonna give Sanji a good showing battlewise no matter what, huh?
Anywho, people were saying last chapter discussion that Luffy was still on his feet and moving ONLY because he hadn't made it back to his crew yet, and would be completely done once he did. I LOVED that that turned out to be the case in this chapter!
Luffy's asleep now guys, his stamina can't hurt you anymore.
This statement is greater than we know

chldren are not gonna remember that the germa was supposed to show up until they see them again…in the end it's still a shonen manga.
To be honest we were expecting the Germa to back at every single opportunity, so whenever it happened it would be predictable.
We should be grateful that at least it took this long for it to happen…
Sanji's empathy is holding him back. How many times must he be punished cause he looks away at someone in danger midfight? It's like Oda wants us to think Judge was right and Sora was wrong.
So, does Yuen have a DF then?
Simultaneously happy and disappointed that Sulong!Pekoms was put down so easily. Would have loved to see him rampage around a bit, but it's good to know that for all its Dragonball Oozaru-esque nature, it isn't some unstoppable engine of destruction. Oven instructing his men to gouge out Pekoms' eyes is a practical, if brutal, solution.
Similarly, given all the braggadocio they've been throwing around, it's nice to see that the army Oven put together isn't just for show and can give Sanji a difficult fight.
Looking forward to seeing what the Vinsmokes have planned. Glad though I am that well get to see them fight properly, I'm hoping there's more to the Germa's intervention than just "beat down the Charlottes and help Sanji/Luffy escape". If ever there was a chance for them to show off, now's the time.
Wonder if the Vinsmoke tech is geared alot toward sea battles. It would be a good way to thin down BM's fleet if they are simply lots of ol'wooden ships up against the high tech snails of doom.

Well they could be pretty far away since the vinsmokes went ahead on foot and the ships were the ones who launched the cannons.
There's also the possibility of them coming from the opposite side of the strawhats. Besides once things got crazy with luffy coming out it's not like they were paying attention to the coasy
Seriously, 2 sacrifice in this arc just to keep the plot going? sacrifice that i cant even take seriously anymore.
It was strange but touching the first time Bonchan scapegoated for the SHs in Alabasta.
Pell's was dramatic and impactful just until we found out he actually survived.
Bonchan take 2 in Impel Down… bruh...
Pedro, now Pekoms... I wonder how many sacrfice are needed in Wano? On their way to Raftel?

Totally agree, that's why I was put off by Oda saving it for the big chapter-ending cliffhanger. An earlier debut in the chapter would've been nice, with a meatier set up for next chapter, but oh well.
Also, yeah, Sanji's plan was as bad as Pekoms'. I expected more from him.

So, Mr. Strategist, what would have been your plan?
@S.C.:
So, Mr. Strategist, what would have been your plan?
Diversion. When you have that many against that few, guerilla style is basically your only option.
Just spitballing. None of those plans are worse than Sanji's Operation "Fuck it, I'm just gonna run at 'em really fast!"
Diversion. When you have that many against that few, guerilla style is basically your only option. Create a large enough distraction, and attempt to steal the entire mirror if you have to. Find a piece of mirror from one of the MANY destroyed mirrors on Cacao, communicate to Luffy what's happening, maybe. Use Jinbei's mastery of water to sneak through the bay and try to secure the mirror for himself.
There's literally thousands of enemies there, and Oven is deadset on guarding the mirror. Even theoretically, by the time Sanji could wrest it from him, the others surely would have heard the commotion.
And Jinbei and co still haven't landed and Luffy left then are there. He didn't have time to sync up with him.
And that's not even getting into trying to escape carrying a delicate mirror, which would open Sanji to the same perils he faced anyways.

Yeah, not saying any of my hypothetical plans would have succeeded. Just saying the attempt would've shown that Sanji had put more thought into everything you yourself pointed out and decided to try something other than directly rushing in. Again, not a big deal, just not really a good showing for Sanji…...AGAIN! In fact, it doesn't really seem like he had any impact on Luffy's predicament whatsoever.
I am pretty sure we will be able to see a full Pekoms transformation in the next chapters going out on rampage and there will be a Pedro come back to stop his rampage.

I have issues seeing any ally in his place doing any better or coming up with a better idea. Case in point, Pekoms's idea failing almost instantly, as well.
Zoro or Jinbei would have been bogged down instantly, for example.
Oh boy… BMP got all the rights to be called a Yonko crew. Magnificent performance, truly what i expected since the beginning from them, to go... on Sanji xDDDD
Yuen: "So you can do moonwalk... just as anyone here can do it" xDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD I love this shit, Sanji returns to Baratie plz.
Pekoms got Kame Kame no mi, the fact that he's being massacred it isn't a problem to him. Hope Sulong becomes his free-ticket to Awakening.
I love the fact that Oda put these two with a wonderful plan, only to fail miserably while doing it xD Classic Oda.
Oven got another interesting skill, wave attacks, yep, like it. Germa's cliffhanger was also nice to see, hyped me a little.
Good chapter, Sanji made me laugh... but oh!!!! I see a mistake, Guys did you see??... Sanji was talking through Den Den Mushi and the one at the Sunny didn't appear like Sanji at all!! Hope Oda fixes at #89... unless a new rule for hijacked snails don't become the character speaking D:
