Super needs an actual series compositor and not just different writers each episode to tighten up the writing.
It's part of why the writing is so inconsistent across each episode, there's no real head to it.
For those that don't know The Business that much, the series compositor is something of a mix between a head writer and a writing director, they're the leader of the writing team and develop the drafts into more fully fleshed ideas and stories, which are then handed off to the episode writers who expand the sections they're given into the 22 minute episodes.
Super doesn't have anyone on series composition and it really shows. There's some good writers in there, some episodes would have been a lot weaker without some of the smaller touches, like 18's episode against ribrianne.
But then you get writers who just follow the beats in the drafts and frankenstein them together, so you get bad sequences like _and then piccolo gets knocked off, I guess"
A series compositor could go along way in making the show's writing a lot more consistent and meaty, especially if they touched base with Toriyama & Toyotaro to wring some more details out of them.
