Rabbit…Was he supposed to have been a rabbit this whole time and not the same cat species as Berus and Champa?
I think he's just a tailless member of the species since Champa comments on how much he looks like Beerus.

Am I uncool to remember his name is Dyspo?
For Germans Dyspo sounds somewhat stupid as it's basically the word for overdraft / line of credit.
Vegeta's anger boosts and second winds are bigger bullshit than Caulifa's transformations ever were.
Takahashi's drawings are so gorgeous. Episode #122 didn't have much in the way of good animation, but the still shots were just so…gorgeous. Wow.
! Looks like Vegeta is getting a new transformation. In the preview for #123 and at the end of the new Ending Vegeta has black pupils and his Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan form is colored a different blue.
Vegeta's anger boosts and second winds are bigger bullshit than Caulifa's transformations ever were.
Just, no. Anger is the way Saiyans boost in this universe. Goku over Krillin's death? Way to go calling Toryama's canon bullshit.
Literally the only time ever that Goku got an anger boost. When Krillin died the first time, Tambourine almost killed him. Vegeta NEVER got an anger boost until Beerus. Anger boosts were unique to Gohan, which is why it was mentioned CONSTANTLY by other saiyans like Raditz and Vegeta. Maybe re-check Toriyama's canon some time.
Not gonna lie enjoyed the beating Dypso was doing to Frieza in the episode, he's definitely dragon ball Flash.
So if Jiren is Superman and Dypso is the Flash, who's Toppo suppose to be? Maybe the Hulk?
That looked great and as an action episode was pretty good.
There was a little too much fluff at the start, but I definitely liked a bunch of the action shots when it comes to choreography and general composition.
I also enjoyed the character moments. They all served to set up the three final on-going fights well.
Dyspo's speed felt really nicely weighty and he pulled a nice smart move on Freeza. Gohan's warning to 17 was a nice call. Jiren calling Vegeta out gave not only Jiren his first substantial character moment, it did Vegeta, as well.
In short, Jiren is a good guy, he does value righteousness and calls Vegeta out. More of this, please. I liked Jiren for doing that.
Finally, it's interesting how Vegeta connects his arrogance with being Saiyan. It is a Saiyan thing to seek out fights after all. He still does care about surpassing Goku, but his own terms are much more important now. It's interesting.
I was kind of expecting more, but this was good.
! Oh hey, I was wondering when we'd get our first substantial KO instead of a ring out, and here it is. Looking forward to seeing how Vegeta will recover from this.
Vegeta's anger boosts and second winds are bigger bullshit than Caulifa's transformations ever were.
Didn't he do that bullshit against Beerus briefly surpassing Goku with it?
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Highlight was Dyspo trashing Freeza. It's great to see the little guy give such a visual trashing to a favorite. It caught me off-guard and I like that.
I ontinue to prefer Vegeta over Goku an while Jiren himself is boring people fighting him sometimes have good moves.
! Yah, Frieza is killing him and getting disqualified in the process.

I posted my reply drunk late at night. Never a good idea :D
You're right. But how got Vegeta his Super Saiyan form?
This was a great episode and animated really well.

He rage boosted to super saiyan, did he not?
Good episode.
I always thought Dyspo was really extra, but he being Freeza's opponent can make him grow to me. Also good to see Freeza is already being overpowered, so he will probably be able to turn the tables later (unlike if he kept the advantage the whole time, meaning he would probably be defeated in the end).
I like Toppo and, to my complete surprise, I fell in love with #17, but god damn it, Gohan annoys the hell out of me, so to be honest I can't be excited for this fight.
As for the main fight, Vegeta reaching a new transformation, huh!? Well, more transformation are boring, but I suppose was to be expected if Blue is the God equivalent to SSJ, so there should be equivalents to the following SSJ2 and SSJ3 as well (assuming that's what is going to happen. I'm avoiding spoilers).
I just want to see Gohan get a new form
I'm looking forward to seeing Toppos true power in a few episodes from now. I think some forget how powerful he is cuz of Jiren…..
Jiren says Vegeta is too arrogant, gives him an brutal beatdown, etc. Reminded me a lot of Vegeta vs. Perfect Cell.
Vegeta's anger boosts and second winds are bigger bullshit than Caulifa's transformations ever were.
my headcanon is that vegeta gets all his powerups from the indignation at the idea of other people being stronger than him
His heart is pure, pure selfagrandization.
Vegeta seems to get an arm hurt a lot.
This episode had some good animation. And it's weird that I feel like I'm actually rooting for Vegeta to win instead of getting beat up lol.
I don't like the new ending very much. Mostly the soft fluffy songs feel put of place to me. The last ending was much better.
The endings seemed to be out of order, specially weird having one that features U6 as high as U11.
Vegeta and Future Trunks are the new Gohan's

Probably because it's the only other universe that mattered. Not to mention they're definitely coming back.
lol it's funny that Jiren calls Vegeta arrogant but his nonchalant finishing move (turning away, arms crossed) and "Come, I'll tank your attack" attitude are pure arrogant
Funniest thing about this arc is the fact that the Z fighters are pretty much the villains there:
They're the ones who personally eliminate all the other universes.
Goku suggested the whole idea of a death match to determine who has a right to exist amongst the universes.
And look at their competitors: a demon king, two death robots, the prince of a murder-race and an evil space emperor.
They crush a team who fight with the power of love and their final ennemies are a team of friggin superheroes who get cats down from trees and give ballons back to kids…
Goku suggests a tournament for funsies, who then is used to determine what universes get to be destroyed by it's arbitrer.
The universes instead of just realizing that "if we all leave one person in the ring, at the very least, then no one will be eliminated by the Omniking's rules!", but no, they use cheap logic to try and gang up on U7, who become the logical target later for being the team with the most participants.
Losing is being erased, after getting roped in this thing, is like surrendering in a match to the death. Stupid and suicidal.
And Picollo never was a demon king, that was his father, and ironically his worst crimen is to avenge his father, at the request of said murderer. The androids were two random kids drugged, kidnaped and altered by an evil scientist, and managed to reconnect with their humanity. And Frieza, who is just there because if they had put Yamcha, or one of the kids things would have gone worse.

Of course if you want to be dull and use logic to counter my totally fine argument…
Still, if the show was from the perspective of universe 11 it would seem like all other universes bravely sacrificing themselves in order to chip if even a little the strenght of evil universe 7 who, in turn, destroys universe after universe (with whole universes being destoyed in order to remove a single Z fighter). With random evil quotes from freeza and the like for the lulz...
The universes instead of just realizing that "if we all leave one person in the ring, at the very least, then no one will be eliminated by the Omniking's rules!"
It would take exactly 2 seconds before the Omniking's would cry out: 'This is boring, I guess we'll just destroy all universes anyway.'
And it would probably take even less than that for the Mouse to try and betray the other universes.
It would take exactly 2 seconds before the Omniking's would cry out: 'This is boring, I guess we'll just destroy all universes anyway.'
THIS. It has been mentioned several times that the worst thing you can do is disappoint the Omni King. In the end the person who can destroy all of existence has the mentality of a 6 year old.
Shida Naotoshi dropped a bombshell of sorts today. He's taking credit for the scene where Trunks slices Freeza in half at the end of Dragon Ball Z Episode #120. This was an in-house and Studio Junio episode and at the time Shida was still working as an animator for Last House. I can kind of see Shida in how the shading is drawn on Trunks and his fingers in a few shots near the end as he uses his Burning Attack.
, either. It's not the first time we've had cases of uncredited key animation (Miyahara, Nakatsuru Katsuyoshi and I believe Satou Masaki) or even uncredited chief animation supervision (Miyahara Naoki and Shimanuki Masahiro were initially uncredited CAS for the Studio Cockpit and Studio Carpenter episodes). What's really interesting is how it's almost impossible to see Shida in those shots in #120. Animation Supervisor Nakatsuru must've really corrected his work heavily. Starting with Dragon Ball Z Episode #159 Shida left Last House and became an in-house animator for Toei Animation, where he has been ever since. For the rest of Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball GT Shida would work on the movies or episodes overseen by Miyahara Naoki or Yamamuro Tadayoshi (who is now the current character designer). It's crazying learning these new details twenty-seven years later. I wonder what else Shida did uncredited? He doesn't even remember a lot of the things he did receive credit for, so working on this scene must've been really impactful to him. I wonder who invited Shida to work on the scene, too? Nakatsuru? Episode Director Hashimoto? Were they trying to guage whether he was someone they should recruit to be in-house? After this episode Shida kept working with Last House on Episodes #123, #128, #132, #136 and #141, so it seems like nothing was determined quite yet. Prior to this, Nakatsuru did work with Shida on Dragon Ball Z Movie #4, where Nakatsuru was an animation supervisor. Hashimoto Mitsuo was also the director of Movie #4, so that also makes me think it was definitely one of their ideas.
Not that it's any surprising, but Shida is apparently also schedule to work on Dragon Ball Super again. I hope he has a good schedule.
Vegeta and Future Trunks are the new Gohan's
Gohan is still the OG. Just wait for his moment. When he finally gets angry in this tournament, all hell is going to break loose

BTW why does the forum looks so dead? Are all people wasting their time at Oro Jackson?

No it’s up again but still shit.
Well maybe I’m just seeing into wrong. But the activity seems pretty bad if I look at the chapter thread alone.
But maybe it is the standard now… dunno cuz I’m barely around.
Still in the past it was far more active while now it seems everyone Ian talking Oro Jackson as numero 1 OP forum.
Which I find pretty sad. Even if I dropped OP the people here are still the best to talk about with

The shots in general are hardly great (Shida's far better now than he was back then) but it's nice learning something new about the project, especially considering how popular an event Trunks slicing Freeza in half was.
Besides, Miyazaki and Disney are nowhere near the pinnacle of good animation. Miyazak in general takes the best animators in the industry and has them produce their worse work.

Just like in the 25th Budokai?
I'm not sure about this episode. Vegeta's form didn't really have any kind of explanation, but most importantly absolutely no weight to it's reveal and to be fair it seems like a rage-boost kinda thing/mastered Blue for the anime. Point is, nothing actually meant to be huge.
Explanations can come later and we have that training in the time chamber as a perfectly good explanation, but he can get Ultra Instinct just fine later, when he's actually being pushed. A lot of the episode also looked like butt.
The strong part of this episode was actually the choreography and tactics used by Goku. Again, actually smart fighting that shows Goku as the competent fighter he's supposed to be. I also like Zeno imitating Jiren. It was adorable.
Right now it's lead-up to the finales. Next few episodes might look like butt for the finale to be good. Kind of a big ehhh this time around. I'm still happy most of the worst of this arc is kinda just average rather than straight-up unwatchable and me frustrated and unhappy with something every episode. I take serviceable type of forgettable over cringe type of boring for DB.
I love these random fanfic tier team ups. This episode Gohan and Android 17 team up to fighting a dabbing moustached muchacho. Next episode Gohan and Golden Frieza team up to fight a supersonic bunny. Dragonball AF eat your heart out.
I would have liked for Vegeta's transformation to have more of an explanation but it's still nice that he's fighting to bring back the sayain race.

"Miyazaki is crap, now let me tell you about the intricacies of Korean Sweat Shop 33's work in this animation cel of Roshi coughing."
Vegeta wanting to keep his promise was a really nice moment for him….although part of me wanted him to think about Bulma, Bra, and Trunks too, because that is the main reason why he's fighting in this darn thing.
Also can Freeza just knock out Dypso already? He seems so minor compared to Toppo and Jiren.

What would you say is the pinnacle of good animation? I am genuinely curious.

Don't get me wrong… The quality of those other sites are shit level and nor do I care for One Piece myself anymore...
But seeing this forum being not even close to Oro Jackson it's somehow sad if you think about that Arlong Park was the numero 1 by far in the past.
Dunno if the mods are OK with it or do not care that much but I would search for some reasons... And one is the old as shit forum version.
And again... That is no bashing or anything... It's the opposite cuz the people and forum here I have posted with for over a decade are somehow important to me and I learned a lot from them.
