Onepunch-Man (redrawn version)

Did Garou protect the kid in the original? That feels very out of character for him.

! Yes, but in a different situation, if my memory serves me right.

Glasses was probably the MVP of this chapter, took one hell of a beating, which most A and B class would be on the ground after 1 punch done by Garou.

Why does that feel out of character? Did you ever have the impression that Garou is a bad guy?
-
I know discussion about the original version should take place on its own thread but I wonder if ONE wants to change Garou's story, because he is pushing his anti-hero side way too much lately.
-
Protecting the kid didn't feel out of character for Garou at all imo. I have no experience with the web comic but from what we have seen so far it feels perfectly in character. The kid getting scared and running away from Garou seemed to shock him somewhat, like he didn't know monsters are scary lol. I wonder if that will actually have an affect on him.
-
Good scott, Murata can draw.
-
! Yes, but in a different situation, if my memory serves me right.
! He'll probably save the kid again in the canon way.
-
MS version.
-
I'm glad Genos is here. The chapter was the literally the same as the previous, but with a bad aim from Garou's part to defend those unfamous at the glare of justice. The kid, i'm with the ones who criticize, Garou's identity is now unclear with helping him rather than just use him as bait for gatling-guy.
Genos… die please, what a perfect cliffhanger.
-
There is more depth to Garou's character than just an edgy boy doing evil for the lulz

! In the original at this point, he was still that edgy boy doing it for the lulz. It wasn't until he was owned by Bang and got to know actual monster that he started changing his mind.

! I was actually referring to the quick flashback he'll get. The one in which he speaks with his teacher. Not Bang, but actual school teacher

I don't know for the other version but in this one Garou's evilness seems to just be wanting to beat the shit out of heroes. Aside from that there is nothing to say he doesn't care about humans or would kill random civilians so him protecting the kid was not surprising based on this version.
-
This version Garou seems only motivated about testing his strenght against heroes, the original version has lees background so there were more grey areas about his morality.

Next chapter 11/2, and 56 pages

awesome chapter
-
Wow…Super intense. I can't wait to see the translation.
-
Murata's art is utterly incredible.
-
I was trying to remember how this situation goes down in the original because I was drawing blanks, so I checked the chapter we're at and was somewhat surprised to see that we only just now finished [ONE's] chapter 53 of 109. [ONE's] chapter 53 itself was covered in the last four Murata-drawn chapters, [Murata/ONE's] 121 - 124. Actually, if we include ONE's expanding of the original here, [ONE's] chapter 52 technically ended in [Murata/ONE's] chapter 69!!? That's not to say everything in between was "new content", but a lot of it was, right? [Murata/ONE's] chapter 70 - 120, fifty chapters, were mostly expansion of the original?
Aohige, or someone else a bit more familiar want to clarify? I'm trying to avoid anything spoilery, IE: anything that hasn't happened yet or hints towards what will or won't.
Original [ONE] Version Spoilers Ahead
! You saw that this is spoilers, right? Ok just checking…
! >! So I realized why I was drawing blanks on how this scenario played out. It has been vastly altered (expanded) and no longer takes place in the city, with the confrontation obviously extended. I like how it's being edited thus far. So the reason I was drawing blanks is because in the original Bomb gets attacked by a monster and then Genos gets his arm sliced of, then… the story just cuts to everyone at Saitama's place and monsters carried Garou back to their base. That was pretty jarring, so these changes will hopefully address that and make the transition smoother. -
MS version is out.

Superb fight direction and personally very happy with Genos portrayal here.
Kudos to the One/Murata team for bringing my favorite action chapter yet. -
Best part was when Saitama was going to give Genos credit and remembered he always gets destroyed.
-
half of my prediction is correct first garou will save the kid, second saitama will come to the park and kick ass of garou
-

One Punch Man vs One Piece
!
!
-
Genos weaponizing losing a limb is my favorite thing about that chapter.

One Punch Man vs One Piece

That was my second favorite part of the chapter lol. Poor Genos has such a shoddy track record that even Saitama is aware of it.
-
Best part for me was Bomb destroying that monster Nanto Suicho ken style.
-
Kimd of hard to see where there any punches thrown by bomb or was it a swirling of punches or did he just spin his arms
-
Honestly "Garou vs Genos vs Monster association" made me think about "Luffy vs Zoro vs Baroque Works"
-
One Punch-Man Volume 15 cover

I love that cover so much.

Why does Garou hair go darker half way in the chapter?

I think he rubbed his blood through it.

Next chapter is125 pages! Can't wait.

Is there any particular reason why OPM doesn't have a set number of pages per chapter?

It's not published in a magazine, but as a webcomic, so One and Murata have a lot of freedom when it comes to release dates and quantity of content on a chapter to chapter basis. The only thing limiting them is their own work ethic rather than an alotted number of pages in a magazine.

Oh okay. I wasn't sure if it was in a magazine or not.
-
When the next chapter?
-
-
At the current rate, wouldn't it be around late May?
The current rate is quite fast, so I'm not sure if you're being sarcastic or not.
-
Isn't the current rate the common rate ? meaning one chapter each months –>> roughly 50pages.
I don't think we've ever had a 120page long chapter though
-
It's a bit difficult to pin down his common rate however the last two chapters that Murata has drawn have both been almost 60 pages and have taken about 3 weeks each to produce.
So currently he's matching actual weekly mag releases on average page count per week. Impressive considering he has little obligation to do so.
-
We had a 100page one I think fairly early on.
