Thing is that the woman in blue who kept saying she was 3 months pregnant after the fight doesn't look it yet, just fat. (not many -if any- women show at only 3 months along). So other gal didn't know did she? (serious question, not being sarcastic) The societal rule considers it a taboo to knowingly attack a pregnant woman. IMO she could still use self defence if she did not know the woman in blue is pregnant.

That is being guilty of excessive force, not lack of a right of self-defense. So while she would have a right to defend herself from someone when she did not know was pregnant, she went too far. Legal fees are far more than that (tens of thousands), and if you're not 100% sure of winning, it sometimes isn't even worth trying. Especially not for a measily 1500$

Aside from all evidence pointing to the contrary (that North Korea is a mad dog that has been a pain in China's neck for decades, and one more and more out of it's control every year), it doesn't even make any sense on the face of it. The US is more likely to be in the region with a trouble node like North Korea, not less likely.

Well the victims from such excessive force has tend to black people so I think he was making sure the woman knew she was unlikely to be victim of such actions considering she's not part of the usual target group. It's being factual about the fear she expressed. A troubling fact but a fact nonetheless.

It's the explanation quite a few people are going with. I can't really understand how it's supposed to be a defense though… making jokes about killing black people while on the job is probably/definitely should be a firing offense.
If that policeman ever shot anyone, that or those incident(s) should certainly be reviewed. The assumption being that it probably was excessive force.
Whether or not that's the case, it certainly cast a light on what he thinks of his collegues' behaviors when apprehending suspects (that there is a double standart).
