Except I don't care about the original work. Like I said, I'm in for Murata art skills, some cool characters and overall fight direction (wich Murata also excel at). Without it, I would never have touched OPM. I don't think you understand my point. I can care less about the humor of the manga, I find it unfunny and childish most of the time (wich it clearly is), but I can just pass on it (wich I do). I'm in for the fight. Metal Bat vs Garou was not that serious, but it has Murata art skill at its best and the fight direction was top notch. Plus the fight ended on a humor note, but it wasn't childish or dumb, it was quite clever to show Garou is not entirely evil.
You can say Genos is ridiculous all you want, his test fight against Saitama may be one of the best artistic work in manga history. I read a lot of manga and was litteraly blow away by this scene. I think I'm not alone to have felt it this way.
Compare those two fights with the way Saitama ends his fight with Suryiu and the way he just kicks Garou the second time. If you have some taste, you can spot the difference between fantastic art direction and childish/repepitive humor just for the sake of it. Like I said, I don't care about the humor of OPM, EXCEPT when it clash with what I like in it (Murata skills and fight direction). That's exactly what happened with the butt attack against Suryiu and the kick at Garou.
You all say Saitama has never gone full serious, but at least the way he defeats Boros or the moment he destroys the meteor by jumping into it were fantastic piece of art and they weren't ridiculous in any way. Those are the moments I like in OPM.
