RE: Chopper's forms
I have two questions :
- Why did the governement attack Jaya back then ? It is said the twenty kingdom attacked Jaya, but what were the reasons ? Where it is mentioned in the manga ?
- Is the name "Birkans" (to define Enel winged kind) only in the english version of the manga ? I've read on the wiki it's not used once in the japanese version of the manga.

RE: Onepunch-Man (redrawn version)
@Purple:
…
Except I don't care about the original work. Like I said, I'm in for Murata art skills, some cool characters and overall fight direction (wich Murata also excel at). Without it, I would never have touched OPM. I don't think you understand my point. I can care less about the humor of the manga, I find it unfunny and childish most of the time (wich it clearly is), but I can just pass on it (wich I do). I'm in for the fight. Metal Bat vs Garou was not that serious, but it has Murata art skill at its best and the fight direction was top notch. Plus the fight ended on a humor note, but it wasn't childish or dumb, it was quite clever to show Garou is not entirely evil.
You can say Genos is ridiculous all you want, his test fight against Saitama may be one of the best artistic work in manga history. I read a lot of manga and was litteraly blow away by this scene. I think I'm not alone to have felt it this way.
Compare those two fights with the way Saitama ends his fight with Suryiu and the way he just kicks Garou the second time. If you have some taste, you can spot the difference between fantastic art direction and childish/repepitive humor just for the sake of it. Like I said, I don't care about the humor of OPM, EXCEPT when it clash with what I like in it (Murata skills and fight direction). That's exactly what happened with the butt attack against Suryiu and the kick at Garou.
You all say Saitama has never gone full serious, but at least the way he defeats Boros or the moment he destroys the meteor by jumping into it were fantastic piece of art and they weren't ridiculous in any way. Those are the moments I like in OPM.

RE: Onepunch-Man (redrawn version)
It's literally a series (both webcomic and manga) that is, quite literally, a deconstruction of the tropes of action manga with a bit of commentary on society. As fantastical as the action element is to convey that, don't forget that the entire premise of the series is making fun of the things that you're lauding.
You're seeing too much into it. Don't forget yourself that ONE draw it as a test first, only caring about a plot when OPM drew attention. It's not as deep as a satire as you think it is. Sometime it's just that : low level humor targeted at younger audience.
That's it: manga readers expect a great figth but the author just throw a second joke… and you can only laugh about both: about Garou and about the readers waiting to see a great fight.
You can also be annoyed by it, especially when it's happen often in this manga, especially when Murata skills at drawing and fighting depiction is top notch. I know I am.

RE: Onepunch-Man (redrawn version)
Fair enough. Maybe you'll change your mind when you're grown if you give it a second chance.
When I'm grown ? What do you mean ?
And doesn't make sense to me to read OPM without laughing sometimes. Saitama vs Gouketsu was fun.
Fun to you maybe, but like I said earlier, I'm not in OPM for a good laugh, I don't find it funny. I'm in for others reasons I explained. It seems to me that the humour is targeted at younger audiences.
I don't know, but when the manga builds up the character of Suriyu, set up a good fight with Saitama, goes all in by showing the techniques of the guy, let you think that maybe Saitama would put up a good fight or at least try to, what does Saitama does ? He uses his butt in one of the worst drawn scene in the manga. I think it was the most anticlimatic way of ending this fight. Some people found this scene funny like people laugh when a good lad break a wind in the middle of a conversation in your college years. I'm sure if Saitama ends a fight like this in the future, those same people would crack a laugh, wich is kind of sad if you ask me.
In this last chapter, Garou goes all in for King's head. You would think that maybe Saitama would not be able to defend King easily since he's so weak and Garou's a straight killer in close combat. Maybe the author would link that scene to what King said earlier about the strenght of a real hero and make Saitama struggle a lot because of the circumstances (protecting King, the weakest of all the hero). Maybe after 30 chapter or so we could have a glimpse of the real Saitama vs Garou fight. Nope, Saitama just one shot Garou, like he did previousely. That was anticlimatic too. Yep, it tried to be funny, but it was more annoying than anything to me.

RE: Onepunch-Man (redrawn version)
I don't find the manga funny at all. I know it's meant to be a parody, but it does not reach me. I don't even understand how adults can find it funny. I'm only in for Murata impressive drawing skills (IMO the best artist in the manga industry today), the great fight choregraphy and the cool characters like Suriyu, Genos, Garou, Zombieman, Atomic Samurai and Metal Bat. I could care less about Saitama, the whole concept behind him me make him the least interesting character in the whole manga to me.
The only moments I can bear Saitama is when he gets serious.

RE: Onepunch-Man (redrawn version)
So, it's the second time that Saitama one strike Garou and people still find it funny the second time ? Hmm, I don't. I'm quite tired of waiting for the final fight of this arc, it seemed to drag a little. I hope Garou vs Saitama won't end in a ridiculous way or too quick, I hope it will be a good fight.
