@Daz:
Baby 5 got off scot free by virtue of having a sad backstory (and being cute), despite being a top commander in Doflamingos evil crew. I think Pudding is going to be quite safe.
At least Baby 5 didn't do anything directly bad to Law.
Call me petty, but I'm still bothered by the look of Sanji in despair (which Pudding pretty much rubbed salt into the wound) so I'm still disappointed that we might not get some comeuppance.
Going off your other post regarding the Vimsmokes….they treated Sanji like crap too. If I don't get him at least kicking Judge's face in....
@TitanG545:
I think BM being creeped out by the third eye is getting overblown, I am going with the backstory that Pudding was adopted. BM is not known for being the picture perfect mother, so in saying that I would expect any bad mother to say what they are feeling even if it hurts their kids feelings. I think back on the first Xmen movie when Bobby Drakes mom finds out he is a mutant, his mom is like have you ever tried not being a mutant. His mom was clearly weirded out by it, also it's not like we have BM saying it over and over. The first time she sees it she is weirded and moves on past it after that, as far as we know never to have issue with the three eyes.
Oh I'm not expecting her to be the best mom, as we see a lot of kids following her out of fear. To me, three eyes is a very innocuous quirk compared to some of the other stuff that can conjured up in the world of One Piece.
It's possible BM is "weirded out" by a lot of looks in her family, but she herself is "weird". I think it'd be more fitting (and funnier) if she was weirded out by Pudding because she didn't look freakish enough or something, based on her goals.
@Seafarer33:
The OPverse doesn't seem much different, considering the 3-eyes are apparently extremely few. As such, I don't find it absurd that some deviations from the biologic norm may be more unsettling than others.
As I once heard in a Matthewmatosis video - "we as human beings are naturally creeped out by a face that doesn't look like a face". I suppose having more/less eyes are the easiest way to accomplish that, opposed to more limbs.
As for being Big Mom's daughter, I don't see how this should preserve her in any way. Those kids mocking her yes could very well be her siblings, and even if they're not children tend to be cruel to each other regardless of social status and such. Besides, Linlin's idea of education is that wanting to stab your brothers and sisters is perfectly fine, so I don't really picture her making a case against name calling
What # was Pudding again? Because now I'm curious to see more of her upbringing.
Anyway, this is only my take on the "being a 3-eyes in Totland" situation. Beyond that, I seriously hope Oda doesn't pull a Violet again. It's fine if shock stays her hand for a few minutes, but that really shouldn't be enough to completely turn around Pudding's character.
Agreed. She can have her moments of this….surprise, but this shouldn't go full Baby 5 (yet, if possible).
