Nelsan Ellis "Lafayette" died.
-
R.I.P. Nelsan Ellis….
He was one of my favorite parts on True Blood with him being Lafayette.
-
Very minor celeb, but a rapper from Chicago who had been making a bit of noise under the monicker Shootashellz was murdered last night on the Southside.
Of course, he was a gangmember who had disrespected living and dead rivals alike. But still, it's tragic to see this never ending circle of violence. So r.i.p to this young man.
-
Seiji Yokoyama :(
-
We just lost Martin Landau too.
Oh man. I loved him in Ed Wood.

Criminy, I JUST rewatched some of his performance as Sam on the Sam & Max cartoon series.

HOLY SHIT!!!
FUCK man….uh....I'm in total shock.
-
Was never a big LP fan and I made fun of their music quite a bit through the years, as did most of us, probably. But this is sad as hell. RIP Chester. He had been dealing with a lot in his life from what I understand.
-
Linkin Park were such a huge part of my childhood, and I even saw them live when they toured the Meteora album.
This has shaken me up, holy shit.Of most of the celebrity deaths in recent years this is one of the hardest hitting for me,
just for what he represents to my life. Massive loss. -
Damn, I guess he really was as depressed as he seemed in his music.
-
I also grew up listening to Linkin Park. This has hit me very hard. RIP Chester
-
A lame band but I guess in respect to his passing I'll admit…..I've always dug the hell out of Breaking the Habit....
S-SHUT UP!! I JUST REALLY APPRECIATE ELECTRONICS WELL INTEGRATED INTO ROCK MUSIC IS ALL. BAKA.Actually I'll go further than that and say they were massively beyond all the other bands in that worst of genres, Nu-Metal. Compared to the others I guess I'm too hard on them, they're not so bad given the context. They've easily aged the best.
When Fred Durst dies I'll just laugh. RIP the spikey hair guy.
-
I grew up listening to Linkin Park in HS and college. Big fan of their music and Chester's screaming vocals. I remember the first time I heard this band was through a DBZ AMV, lol. It was such a tacky way to get into a band but that's the way it was.
To be honest I'm more of a fan of their "quieter" work like 'Hands Held High', 'Shadow of the Day' and 'Iridescent'.
And I'll never forget the time Linkin Park and Jay Z teamed up and did a mix album together outta nowhere. Good memories. R.I.P. Chester.
[HIDE]
-
I myself like In the End and Numb.
-
Yeah, I'm not gonna say I'm a Linkin Park fan, but my Mom did used to play them on the radio so, like it or not, they were part of my childhood. And…yeah, I definitely can see how they can appeal to people and part of me does enjoy the visceral energy of it. If I had to pick a favorite it would probably be One Step Closer.
R.I.P. Chester
-
RIP Chester, you brought the world many great moments.
-
I remember listening to The Eminem Show and Hybrid Theory (yes i know that's weird) in the car on the way to school when I was a kid. Didn't really follow their later stuff but I still have a fondness for Linkin Park, rip chester…
-
RIP Chester
To be honest, I only know like 1 or 2 songs from Linkin Park and I don't know the members. But they were a part of my childhood so it is still a shock.
I never knew Chester had a lot of personal problem. So soon after the death of his friend, Chris. -
Just a few months shy of turning 100, June Foray, one of the greatest voice actresses in the history of animation, has passed away.
http://variety.com/2017/tv/people-news/june-foray-dead-dies-rocky-natasha-bullwinkle-1202508180/
Rocky
Natasha
Granny
Witch Hazel
Cindy Lou Who
Magica De SpellAnd she kept on doing voices for many many years. sigh R.I.P. June
-
I actually looked her up just the other day because of the Ducktales reboot announcing Magica was officially in it. And was amazed to realize she was only like a month away from 100.
It's sad, but she had a good run.
-
Rocky and Bullwinke as well Ducktales were two shows that I grew up watching. Boris and Natasha were some of the best parts of Rocky and Bullwinkle. R.I.P. June.
-
I don't think she'd had any credits over the last few years but her onscreen credits went from Lucifer in Cinderella all the way back in 1950 to her last appearance as Rocky in 2014. Considering that she was doing voice work well before Cinderella, June probably had one of the longest steady careers in film history.
We've lost one of the truly greats.
-
I used to watch a lot of old cartoons, and when reading the credits I'd see a short list of voice actors, usually just the late Mel Leblanc. However, much of the time if their was another name, I'd be June Foray. This is a huge loss, but I'm glad she got to live a long life
-
She truly was a voice-over legend…
-
Suit actor Haruo Nakajima has passed away at age eighty-eight. He played Big G in twelve films over eighteen years from Godzilla in 1954 all the way to Godzilla vs. Gigan in 1972 but he also played Rodan, Varan, Mothra, Baragon, Gaira, and Gezora in their original appearances plus a turn as Kong in King Kong Escapes.
-
Glen Campbell has died from Alzheimer's complications.
-
I had no idea that Glen Campbell was a member of the Wrecking Crew (or filled in for Brian in the Beach Boys at times whey they played live) until I saw the news today. My dad was talking about it earlier but knew him as a country singer and that's what I really associated the name with.
-
Campbell played on Pet Sounds (he's probably the majority of the guitar work on it) and played lead on Elvis's version of Viva Las Vegas (which I though was a James Burton joint.)
He was Steve Lukather's hero.
-
Dick Gregory, longtime Civil Rights era activist and influential comedian, has died.
Not much left of the 50s-60s civil rights figures.
-
RIP Sir Bruce Forsyth.
"Didn't he do well?"
-
Jerry Lewis died at age 91.
-
Director Tobe Hooper died yesterday.

Heard about it on the radio today. Real sad to hear it since Steely Dan is actually one of my favorite bands. RIP Walter

Don Williams died yesterday.
-
Len Wein, co-creator of Wolverine, Storm, Swamp Thing and a dozen other characters you've probably seen in a superhero movie the past 17 years, has passed away.

Harry Dean Stanton died. He was pretty old but I still wasn't expecting him to die anytime soon. And he's like the fifth person in the new season of Twin Peaks to die. It's a good thing the season happened when it did.
Paris, Texas is a great movie.
-
Not all that surprised, but that's sad nonetheless.

Bobby 'The Brain' Heenan have passed away.
http://www.wwe.com/article/bobby-heenan-passes-awayI grew up watching Bobby Heenan during both his WWF and WCW runs. As a ether manager or on commentary he always makes me laugh.
