@Monkey:
For a similar white version, the old standby "white trash".
A bit late, but pretty sure this is partly why my friend's dad got put in prison. I live in the south, so you have a common mentality of 'He was arrested by the police, so he's guilty' along with 'He lives in said area along with not making much money, so obviously he's white trash and did it.' That said, he luckily got out on an appeal ONLY a year after being in there.

That's horrible. Economic discrimination is a major problem in this country, sadly. :/

Want something fun? Letterman is going to start pissing Republicans off:
http://bipartisanreport.com/2016/09/18/breaking-david-letterman-makes-major-career-announcement-republicans-are-pissed-video/Huh, that site was a bit misleading. I thought it was a new show (haven't had cable in while) Letterman would host. But on going to wiki and looking "Years of Living Dangerously (tv series), "I see its already had 2 seasons and it has ..guess you call them guest hosts who are celebs. And seems not ALL Reps would be against it (just most and the loudest) as one, Schwarzenegger, hosted one episode. Time for me to sit down and watch YouTube

Looking up "Desai" and it's from South Asia (India and friends).
As for whiteness, the dude looks pretty pale, so maybe he's half Indian/Pakistani. People can convince themselves of a great many falsehoods.
Hell technically Nazis aren't even white supremacist, but "Nordic" supremacist, and all those Russian neo-nazis are basically as absurd as a black guy being a Nazi as far as Hitler's intentions mattered. -

Ironically the actual Aryans did come from India thousands of years ago.

Ah, I saw "sanskrit" and thought "middle east". Ironically the actual Aryans did come from India thousands of years ago.
Yeah I was gonna say something along those lines.
Though they didn't come from India exactly, they were a horse (nomad) civilization in the middle of Eurasia that spread their languages around all over the place, Europe, Iran, and yeah India.
They were especially famous in India for rolling into (north) India and effecting lots of change there culturally and otherwise. The Nazis believed some hooey about how…
1. The Aryans were AMAZING SUPER GENIUS IDEAL HUMANS, rather than guys who probably ate horse jerky and lived in yurts mostly.
2. The "Nordic" people of Europe were the purest true descendents of the Aryans.Among the truest descendents of the Aryans ironically (genetics wise) ....are Russians, Ukrainians, and Poles lolll. So Hitler was uh....an idiot basically.
-
That reminded me of Jackie Arklöv. The Liberian born-Swedish raised neo-nazi.

I think he was just trying way too hard to convince everyone that he wasn't of Jewish descent.

And of course.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neo-Nazism#MongoliaIt's way weird how a group of Mongolians would choose to focus a movement on the "good side" of Hitler.
Like oh we know he was flawed but hey that save Germany spiel was some good shit that really applies to our lives.
Human beings be great at rationalization. With bisarre results.

Daammnnn the Senate just said hell no to Obama in a big way voting 97-1 for an override of his veto.
https://www.yahoo.com/news/senate-poised-override-obama-veto-9-11-legislation-071325323.html
The decision will now go to the House where they are too expected to vote to overturn Obama's veto. Of all the vetoes in his 8 years (12 vetoes including this one) this will be the first to be overturned. Thus, the bill which will allow families of the victims of 9/11 to sue Saudi Arabia will become law. What that entails for citizens of other countries wanting to sue the U.S. government and officials is left out in the open.

Like hell anyone's gonna get in the way of the great American pastime: Suing anyone for any reason you can think of
-
It's a stupid bill and Obama was right to veto it. Congress is either short-sighted or too concerned about re-election.
This going to end up costing the government hundreds of millions of dollars.

Sooo who will preside over these cases? I mean what's the point if a US court rules that Saudi Arabias government should pay X amount to a group, if SA does not acknowledge the courts authority in the matter. And if it were an agreed upon third party then holy shit how the US would be swamped with claims. I don't see the upside here.

How the fuck
Look, I understand that the ads for this would've been a goddamn nightmare because of how many nerves this issue touches in America, but how the he'll does the Senate unite to set up this abomination of a presidence?

Not exactly sure how that's all going to shake out. All I know is that the chances of any of the lawsuits being successful are low, but there's a real good chance of these lawsuits hurting international relationships and spawning reactionary laws against the United States.

When we need them to work they can't pass funding to run the government, get the funds to aid communities in need after a disaster, or fund scientific research to combat diseases. But when it comes to setting up the United States for future retaliatory lawsuits (some probably justified) and agravating a key ally (but this is Saudi Arabia so "eh") they actually get to work right away. Look, I understand both sides of the debate because any country found guilty of sponsoring terrorism should face consequences but…I don't see any evidence that the Saudi government wss involved in 9/11. Honestly, would we still he their ally if they were responsible for the deadliest terror attack in American history???

It's like that scene in Rush Hour where Chris Tucker keeps yelling i ain't no punk bitch at the Mongolian BBQ guy.
Still don't mean he's going to get any soul food there, but you gotta let people know you ain't no punk bitch. Except with countries.

Honestly, would we still he their ally if they were responsible for the deadliest terror attack in American history???Saudi Arabia is responsible for a lot of awful stuff, so I think we probably would still be their ally for oil reasons.
Also, aside from aggravating one specific ally and possibly opening the door to lawsuits against the US (for things we shouldn't be doing), why is this bill bad? Won't it pressure the US government to pull on the military's leash a bit more?
-
There's no goddamn case to make against Saudi Arabia (for 9/11 at least).
Yes, Saudi Arabia did some Al Qaeda funding years ago. That doesn't mean they told bin Laden "Please ram planes into buildings and send our best ally into a series panic and downward spiral".
(for things we shouldn't be doing)
Oh yeah it's certainly going to be 100% people with legitimate grievance and not 99% random yahoos blaming us for shit outside our control.
-
I look forward to the GOP explaining why the inevitable negative side-effects of this are all Obama's fault.
-

The bill states it's for the purpose of seeking greviences for the atrocious actions of 9/11 and it's blaming Saudi Arabia. Like, not just certain Saudi officials but its entire government. Not only does that claim they're responsible for the deaths of 3000 people and an attack on one of their allies but it's also just false from the evidence collected and investigations done.
-

Future headline: Kim Jong-un files a suit against the United States government for not suppressing The Interview.
-
It's also pants-on-head retarded to think that Saudi Arabia has any interest in causing terror attacks on US soil, which would be the equivalent of shitting the bed and then following that up with biting the hand that feeds you.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Future headline: Kim Jong-un files a suit against the United States government for not suppressing The Interview.
Vladimir Putin has sent lawyers to America to sue the American people for electing Obama.
-
That Benghazi thing? There's probably someone that can be sued.
-
Speaking of Russia, Putin and Assad's government have decided to fuck up Aleppo and I mean all the way. Like, bombing it to bits all the way before retaking it. It has gotten so bad I don't think there's going to be another cease fire until 1 side can't fire anymore.

The allegation largely seems to stem from this. If those 28 pages were made public, the Saudi connection either would have been dropped or properly confronted by the public years ago.

I think it's more that they could have done something to stop it or dissuade private citizens from funding Al Qaeda? It would be hypocritical though, given the fact that many US citizens and even politicians freely fund the IRA.
@Cyan:

I'd hope that there would be something to prevent that.

I wonder that myself especially since democrats are involved in this too. And don't really have anything to lose by voting against this.

This going to end up costing the government hundreds of millions of dollars.
…..Since when have republicans cared about getting re-elected (especially since some of them hail from gerrymandered districts) and wasting large sums of money that's not theirs?

US Congress passed Zika funding today too. I'm too lazy to find a link.

My living memory, at minimum. Not exactly sure if you're being sarcastic or saying Republicans are pulling a move that is similar to the worst of Democrat tendencies. Both parties are guilty of cowardice and showmanship here.
-

Sarcasm but as it is this almost seems like an idea dredged up almost exclusively from the minds of Republicans looking for something to waste time and money legislating on. The fact that they can say that successfully vetoed Obama on something is something they're obviously going to take great pride in.

That depends on the outcome. If this really does end up costing us hundreds of millions of dollars, the GOP will want it forgotten faster than a bush presidency.
-
^ They've wasted nearly that much money trying to repeal the ACA alone what's a few more millions flushed down the toilet.

Not surprising it's starting to become a very bad trend of people calling the police for help then someone winding up dead after the fact.

The police do seem to have huge policy problems with domestic disturbances. My girlfriend's boss had violent squatters living in his house for months, doing drugs in front of his kids. The cops wouldn't do shit because it was a "domestic issue".

So much for history being written by the winners huh?
http://www.rawstory.com/2016/09/washington-history-lesson-horrifies-parents-blacks-used-to-have-strong-work-ethic-during-slaveryAccording to the document, African-Americans “took full advantage” of welfare programs that were created by President Lyndon B. Johnson’s “Great Society.”
“The long-term results, however, have been devastating,” the document says. “Over three centuries of a strong work ethic, cohesive families, the thirst for education and Christian values as vital parts of the African-American heritage gave way to long-term dependence on the government and the erosion of the work ethic.”Someone didn't tell this guy blacks had a strong work ethic during slavery because they were coerced into working under threat of torture and death. This isn't even getting into the fact that Slaves weren't allowed to learn and their descendants were kept from going to white schools under Jim Crow.
