Me too. I always see Hamill as Joker now, Luke Skywalker second.

Nah, that's totally Hobgoblin. :P
No I think it's Ozai.

"Deathstroke, who is not to be confused with Deadshot or Deadpool or Deadman"
This quote from the IGN article made me crack up a bit lol.
-
Wait, how come they all start with Dead and are not the same characters?
-
And only Slade and Deadpool were invented in the 90s.
-
I thought Deadshot and Deathstroke were connected, only using different weapons.
Also, apparently Slade is not shifty malicious Ron Perlman-sounding in the comics???
-
The only Deathstroke I know is the one from Teen Titans animation, and that one was pure awesomeness.
-

Slade unironically calls himself Deathstroke in the comics and is basically the only abomination from the 90s that has gone largely unchanged from his debut. So he's a huge Mary Sue at times.
The only times he was genuinely cool was Teen Titans and that boss fight from Akham Origins.
-
Fk yeah I'm hyped for deathstroke.^^ I bet they tease him in JL so he can then come back as the main villain for the batman movie.
-
To Arrow's credit when it was tolerable to watch, Deathstroke was a legit badass and intimidating threat during season 2. You know, ignoring that his whole motivation to ruin Oliver's life was irrational blame spun by a dumb love triangle in trite CW fashion.

Your final sentence explains why I was so confused by the start of your post, as those happen to be my only two exposures to the character.

He debuted in New teen Titans back in 1980. ANd he was pretty cool there.
Maybe in the 90's he was insufferable, after he lamely became Deathstroke The Terminator, (he did predate Arnie by 4 years) but the Wolfman/Perez Titans run he was cool He's just been elevated to stupid invincible fanwank tier where he can't lose now and that part is pretty dumb. Especially in Identity Crisis.
But yes, he was at his best in the TT cartoon as Ron Pearlman. It's a mask wearing role, no reason it can't be Pearlman. He doesn't even have to get in shape personally to provide the voice.

For a minute, I thought you were going to say Arkham Knight.
Deathstroke: "Batman… I am the ULTIMATE EVERYTHING! You will never defeat me!"
[5 second buffer]
Batman: "Can you put this guy in prison for me? I gotta go deal with villains who are actually a threat." -

Joker roasting him in the cell is fucking great though.

The only ones treated badly were Executioner and Black Mask. The last of whom wasn't treated all that better in Arkham City.
-
Shame that Arkham Knight barely mentioned Bane. Given how well he was handled in Origins, I was hoping that Rocksteady would try to get him closer to that instead of the raging brute who's useless without his super-steroids (whether it's Venom or Titan). Instead, he left the country (going by the side stories) or was killed off (going by the tie-in comics).
Hopefully Deathstroke's involvement means that we'll get Nightwing as well, but we'll just have to wait and see about that.
-
I think Rocksteady just doesn't want to to admit the only good boss fight they had in them was Mr. Freeze
-
The justification for that boss fight was really weird to me though. As in, there wasn't really any?
Mr Freeze needs Batman to save his wife–>
"RAAAAH KILL YOU BATMAN"-->
Batman wins-->
Leaves Freeze to resume his work, goes saves Freezes wifeEven when Freeze wins, he makes some Ice quip over Batmans corpse, and all I'm thinking is "so who's gonna save your wife now?"

We're getting another DC TV series for
definitely not Static ShockBlack Lightning -
For some reason, my first thought that was Black Vulcan from Harvery Birdman since I couldn't remember what the hero's name on Harvey Birdman was.

Oooo. My favorite werewolf. Color me vaguely interested.
Is that really a drunken Aquaman? Or just Khal Drogo doin his thing?
-
And there goes my hopes for a serious Riddler interpretation or Jared Leto Joker focus. Having an assassin like Deathstroke as the main antagonist will be… Interesting. I wonder if it will tie into the League of Assassins or have a similar premise to Arkham Origins.
-
So finally sat down and stayed my ass long enough to finish Batman VS Supes
Oh my god was that shit terrible.
By the way Deathstroke is a poor choice. Dude's been everywhere this last few years.

Everywhere except the movies unlike Joker.

Well looks like SS broke the 700 million mark.

Geez. It's going to officially be a success at this rate.

Isn't every dceu movies so far ''successful''? :'(
They produce crap and get rewarded for it. Sure not as big as they would like, but still.

Not really. Given the budgets, advertising costs, and ho much the theaters take a cut, they are barely breaking even, or possibly even losing money. Not Fantastic Four level losses where the BO is way below even the base budget where they don't make back even half… but still not quite a money maker.
When your movies have 250 million budgets, they need to make a loooooot to make it back. 700 or 800 million just isn't enough, as insane as that sounds.
hen both Avengers movies made 1.4 billion, and Iron Man 3 and Cap 3 both made over a billion... and the previous two Batman films made over a billion... its a step down. But then, the bar didn't used to be that high. It's nuts.
Oh and of course Deadpool being Deadpool. R rated non china film with a 40 mill budget making almost as much as Batman vs. Superman...
-
That's just Deadpool. Nobody else could do it.
This scene alone is worth more than 80% of the DC movies:

Like I've said to a lot of people, Marvel has earned the right to do big budget movies by developing a loyal crowd and making movies about characters they care about. DC's insistence on rushing it and making bloated messes full of new characters with no storytelling backbone is a huge issue that is seeping into other genres of film as well. If you aren't Marvel or Transformers, you're going to have to take a slow approach and hope it works out. What I think happened is that DC wanted to do this, but Green Lantern was so bad that they just decided to hope something else worked. Alas, it isn't. I would say that big budget superhero movies are doomed at this point because of how big the budget is and how much it takes to beat it, but Deadpool would prove me wrong and the one potential counterpoint for starting with a team of characters in a superhero movie, being GOTG, is negated by the goodwill Marvel already had (which was able to get Ant-Man on top, for christs sake) and the crazy good word of mouth it got.
Also, this is random, but Gene Wolfe is a living legend.

Lol. Counting bullets also sorta reminds me of Archer….And how much I wish they could do a live action but not all the voice actors look like their characters.
-
Yeah, kinda wish dc would take it slower and dont spend that much money on bloated team movies right off the gate. Especially since they can't even juggle one character right if you look at man of steel for example, lol.
-
Harley Quinn is getting a movie.
Someone kill me.
-
Why is that a bad thing again? Most people agree she was one of the bright spots of Suicide Squad. Also, Harley Quinn movie in general = yay!
-
Harley sort of lost her luster. She's either Joker's slutty henchwoman or female Deadpool, except with lazy sex jokes instead of lazy meme references.
-
If they added Poison Ivy to the mix for some bad gal pal shenanigans I might care more.
-

I completely agree about Harley, but did you just underestimate Deadpool's propensity for flirting and sex jokes?
So… Does a Harley Quinn movie mean we'll actually get more or less screen time for Leto's Joker than in Suicide Squad?

I'm hoping less. Even if he did survive a helicopter+bazooka explosion the fall should cause some damage right?

We're talking about the Joker. The literal comic book forefather of impossibly escaping imminent death scenarios with mysterious disappearances that always lead up to a grand return. I would be surprised if we get any elaboration on how he was able to break Harley out at the end in general.
-

He's the Joker he's made more comebacks then Jame's Brown with his cape gets draped over his shoulders.
-
Put Ivy in there and maybe catwoman and I am all game for the movie.

Poison Ivy and Catwoman can really only go up in quality in a big screen showing. I was majorly bored by Nolan's version of her that even while writing this post I had forgotten they did have her in there. And that Halle Berry was not the last catwoman lol. Uma Thurman was ok as Poison Ivy from what I recall. But the movie as a whole was garbage.
-
Uma Thurman could have been a good Poison Ivy. She was just given the worst script ever.
