oda made us lost again , to link sanji with big mom
Chapter 811 : Roko
-
-
Chapter 801 is when the bounties were unveiled. Then we have "a week later" in chapter 802 (http://www.mangapanda.com/one-piece/802/12), which is when they arrive on Zou. In today's chapter, it states Sanji disappeared 2 days ago, which would mean it transpired during that 1 week.
Did Oda just screw up the timeline? If not, it would mean Sanji's bounty got raised and turned to "alive only" before the whole situation with Big Mom

Nope, no mistake. The bounty is probably linked to something else.

that's because it has not anything to do with big mom, wouldn't make any sense
also, sanji isn't even with big mom atm probably,it'0s not an hostage, many thing wouldn't make sense if he was. -

Eh….so he got a bounty raise AND alive only because someone identified him coincidentally while all this was going down in Dressarosa? Well, I guess I'll wait to see what Oda has in store, but I was really hoping Sanji's bounty raise would be due to something he did while leading the Swirlyhats

wouldn't something infamous made as a pirate made them want him MORE dead?doesn't make sense if something he has done as a pirates warrants him a only alive bounty

interesting! I like the theory about the minks having an internal compass since the log pose do not point to zou. I didnt pay attention to the 2 days ago thing thanks for the clarification.
Not a problem(16 characters and all that jazz).
-
Man I loved all the heart warming scenes. Seeing Wanda cry like that, Nami saying she won't abandon them and Chopper taking charge like that gave me tears and goosebumps.
I remember months ago or maybe even closer to a year someone specifically said that Big Mom's crew over heard the Straw Hats's talking about Zou and then tried to follow them there. Don't know who you are or when you said but good job. Actually strike that, I think I said it and no one else. No need to look through previous posts just credit me in the future.
Sanji's situation just keeps getting more and more interesting. I don't see Sanji outright losing but if 2 of Big Mom's main forces are there he might purposely give Caesar up and then just sneak aboard while the Mom's are setting off. Still Brook's and Nami's words make it sound much more complicated than a rescue Caesar mission.

We knew a week passed, Sanji got his bounty raised for other reasons clearly, its most likely nothing to do with Big Mom, its about his birth, Oda said his birth would be revealed this year in Jum Festa, so it has to be related to that.
All the SHs that didn't do anything in Dressrosa got a bounty raise by association and Sanji got the extra because whoever finally saw his face recognized him and that led to whover his parents are wanting him alive.

Nami was pretty awesome in this chapter.I agree; between this chapter and the recent Foxy Special, Nami's athletic abilities have been really impressive. I mean in the Foxy Special, Nami (in succession) jumped through a wall of fire, dodged an attack from a Vice Admiral, and immediatly jumped into a pit of water to rescue a drowning Luffy. While not as extreme as many characters, from Nami…......that is some impressive shit.

This chapter was not bad, but it felt subpar compared to the rest of this arc so far. Most of it was spent in showing what we already knew, the flashback this time felt mostly redundant. Oh well, the next one seems better.
it would mean Sanji's bounty got raised and turned to "alive only" before the whole situation with Big Mom
Well, obviously. It's not like there is anyone from the WG in there to record whatever happened in Zou, so nothing that happened (or will happen) there can affect their bounties.
-
wouldn't something infamous made as a pirate made them want him MORE dead?doesn't make sense if something he has done as a pirates warrants him a only alive bounty
Here's my theory about it. In short: Sanji's a just discovered lost son of a world nobel (how to relate Sanji's bird with his new bounty? That would solve it).

I don't know. A manga is not about information; I say it because, even knowing that Chopper and the others treated and saved the minks, the speechless panels about it gave me a warm feeling.
-
Sanji only alive?
He is a prince from an important country.
He's a ghost. -

Because of course we saw the Straw Hats interactions with the minks when they first came to the island, CC using his powers to remove the gas, chopper helping the citizens and Big Mom finally being connected to Zou arc. We definitely saw all those things in the previous chapters…....

Sanji drinking the "women's drink" in the cover surely means something. :ninja:
Yeah the women's drink secret ingredient is breast milk.:ninja:

Hi Sandman. I was wondering if the the extrapage of this week chapter says something new about the Emperors. If you have the time could you take a look at it? Thanks in advance.

Hmm… I can't read the article about Yonkou since the characters are blurry. I'll let you know if I find some new info when I get hold of my digital Weekly Shonen Jump next week.

Year of Sanji my ass. Just another 1-2 years of Sanji being separated from the crew and being absent from the story. Meanwhile we will learn some convoluted story about his past that convinces sunshine pumpers that Sanji is still a part of the story despite being absent from the main crew for anywhere from 3 to 5 years….. Heck, at Oda's current pace of making new chapters, Sanji could be missing for 3 years...
Oda says some BS about next year being the year of Sanji. I call BS, it can't be the year of Sanji with him being locked up and captured by Big Mom and being rescued like a Damsel is Distress. He might as well be one of the weak princesses from Alabasta, Fishman Island, and Dressrosa.
I don't see anything but Oda continuously screwing over Sanji fans or just fans of seeing the whole crew together. Oda is a liar and doing the exact opposite of what most fans wanted. The one thing I and many other fans did not want to happen was a Sanji rescue arc. Then Oda does the stupid thing and does a Sanji rescue arc and keeps him separated from the crew for even longer. Meanwhile Sanji will no longer get any stronger and will be his same weak self that lost his last few fights and is a weakling. I guess its time for Jinbei to take his place in the crew ( part of the big 3). Bye Sanji.
WTF Oda?

There is no Sanji rescue arc. This is apparent with the note existing.
You're creating a problem when there really isn't one here.

Okay then, let's not have anything to do with Sanji and learn about everything the crew did in two pages of pure dialogue. I find the flashback brilliant within the story itself. Its a good way at building the story of the Minkmen without a jarring story a few weeks back. We get to learn what happened to crew B as Crew A does. Plus I'm interested in Sanji's background and it is pretty awesome a character that most consider one of the best of the crew is going to get more about his life shown. When we first had Sanji join the crew, we just saw his interactions with Zeff when they were stranded, which was great. But now we get a shot of seeing more of his background before that. I for one am excited for it. I don't feel like this is screwing over. While Sanji hasn't had the greatest moments the last years, we are now getting a part of the story that he will be the center of. I'm excited to see where this unfolds and trust in Oda's story telling. So far Zou has got me more invested than Dressorosa did.

Most people did. Big Mom's crew is also after the same thing as Kaido's crew.

What makes you so sure of your predictions? You're being absurdly dramatic.
-
Wait, if Sanji can write a letter, by mean he is not captured by Pekoms right.. Just no way Pekoms lets Sanji do that if they are in fight.. Or Pekoms is not like Jack who don't want to listen except burn and burn..Pekoms is quaite nices perhaps, and i think he with Baron Tamago up there probably, they met Sanji and make a deal without any real fight, they do that in Fishman Island right?Kaidou, Big Mom, How those two play their arms on Mugiwaras? It's Super Complex..

Every single bit of foreshadowing is making me pretty confident Sanji won't be joining the crew any time soon. The biggest being the stupid crap Oda pulled with his bounty. Its Robin and Ennies Lobby all over again. Except this time it is with a character that has already been missing for years.

Robin wasn't missing for years during Water 7 you know.
In fact, that's the arc where she got the biggest focus and development.
-
This tendency of leaving the crew and then getting a lot of character development didn't start at Enies Lobby, it started way back on Arlong Park, when Nami left the crew with Merry.
Sanji is the fourth case, maybe Oda plans to do this with every single Straw-Hat?

Usopp, I figure.
-
I meant Luffy, actually, i don't really count Usopp.
Technically Usopp did quit the crew, but unlike the other four cases, even though he got character development, we didn't learn anything about his background past, nor did we get any "Usopp" arc.
-
Me too.
I was wondering about the Nami's bikini mystery. It's not solved even in this chapter, where we saw Wanda first dressed with her regular outfit and later with Nami's tops... Maybe one of the biGGest mysteries in the story… ehm.
Wanda had not just the bikini top, but also the jeans Nami wore with that top.

I'm sort of liking the shuffle Oda has going with Big Mom and Kaido. Keeps us on our toes.

Me too. The appearance of Pekoms and Co. this chapter makes me wonder if Jack will get shelved for a while too. Personally I would love that.

Good lord is Nami's waist small. Like Oda, jesus.
Other than that, typical bridge chapter, nothing special.
Forgive me but I'll have to use this preposterously indifferent post (to the point of it feeling like a silently implied joke) from a simpleton to double up on my own feelings.
Have fun being disappointed for a long time if you didn't like this chapter rofl.
One of the more emotional chapters since some of Arlong Park. In other words I really feel what everyone's feeling, solely from the setup of giving their empathy all to Wanda to show. Hopefully I can explain better at another time (I've waited too long, reading posts here; plus it's almost sleep time), because I could feel this entire chapter being laid out as soon as I saw the 2nd page:: the weight of the nonsensical genocidal situation that happened in the storytelling of the previous chapter(s), plus this chapter's emotions, both equate to something far profound. That's especially the case in the way these chapters can be read*. In summary, I'm pretty sure Franky got it spot on; his line is the perfect summary. (He's like Bartholomew Jr.)
*On a strangely related point, the guy with the Ed, Edd, and Eddy avatar said this chapter was long. I feel like this extremely short, almost out-of-place post of his is on my level. … I took a really long time reading this chapter, too. It seems I like to tab somewhere else to recollect myself after reading some intense shit.
-
@Galaxy:
Jump does have the break, but because they need to get the issues shipped to the stores earlier due to the holidays, we get the chapter of the first week of January super early.
In return, we won't see another chapter for nearly 3 weeks.
You're right. So the next leak will be around 14th Jan for WSJ 18th Jan issue. The people in distribution who got the copy sure have their way to make super early leak.

Losing to DD hardly makes Sanji a weakling, seeing as some consider DD to be stronger than Luffy and that the latter won thanks to Law's help. I do not share that point of view, but hopefully you get my point. If this is somehow used to explain Sanji's birth, and maybe have some big reveal about him (like he's a noble of some sort) then that means that Sanji will be at the center of attention for once.So I think you're being a little too dramatic here, and it's best to wait and see how things go.
But I understand that it can be frustrating, for his fans and while not being one myself I really do like Sanji and miss his interaction with the rest of the crew.Mellorine ♪

Contrary to popular belief, I don't think Sanji is anywhere near BM right now. If anything, I think the plan was for him to get away from BM as much as possible whilst showing themselves escaping to prevent BMs crew from landing in zou.
And maybe the reason they may never see him again is because he had no directions across the new world although this ain't much of a plan to wander about I admit. And somehow, this wandering leads him to wherever he came from, maybe going there as a last resort for a hiding place or something, and history unfolds. In any case, as a Sanji fan, I can't wait for his year to finally come. Hopefully I won't be disappointed
-
While I get why some people might be unhappy with Sanji's development for quite some time, this Ravaha guy seems pretty crazy and silly to assume he knows what's coming. I'm happy he's not happy.
This chapter seems like another case of Oda planning pretty far ahead because of Pekoms. It seems like Pekoms was created as part of Big Mom's crew for the sole purpose of this moment. And even before that Bepo was part of Law's crew because Oda knew he'd be making Law a big part of the Punk Hazard/Dressrosa and by extension Zou part of the story. Either that or Oda is just very good at fitting things in together. He possibly made up Pekoms with no future in mind then everything fell into place later.
Solid chapter for learning what happened. I had no idea we were getting it so it was a nice surprise. How much longer till the next one?
