I imagine this will be a special one-off episode.
Chapter 794: Sabo's Adventure
-
-
Does the animation team have enough time to put all this in the special episode ?
Presumably, Oda already gave them this information.
-
I honestly doubt most of this is going to make it into the Episode of Sabo special.
They've pretty much revealed that it's a recap of the Ace/Sabo/Luffy flashback, along with Sabo coming to Dressrosa. Perhaps bits and pieces will make it in, but I don't expect it to be exact (especially since this chapter is going to be an episode of its own in 9 months).
-
I don't think the crows are from Dragon. I think Sabo would know more about his power and wouldn't have to ask like he did here.
Translation mistake.
-
I enjoyed this chapter, despite all the Sabo. I liked Usopp sleeping half on the bed/Luffy and half on the floor. I love that we're getting a bit of relaxed atmosphere FINALLY, but it's also way disappointing, because we're still missing half the fucking crew!
I think I'd be way more into this chapter if the Swirlybrows weren't still question marks a year and a half later.
-
My thought is that Sabo as a character was probably created when Oda planning for the introduction of Ra later in the series.
The trio of sworn blood brothers is just too good of an allusion to miss and when Sabo was finally introduced, his fate was probably decided. Amnesia as a plot device is not very good most of the time but honestly any other way of explaining Sabo's disappearance would make no sense.
The way he remembers is also pretty well done compared to most others. Also I really wish Bellamy would not join the SH crew or even Law's. He still has a long way to go to redeem himself imo
He is still essentially the very same person as before, but he might be able to progress into a worthy ally in the future. -
I keep forgetting to say this, but volume 79 is totally going to be called Sabo's Adventure to mirror 23's Vivi's Adventure.
Translation mistake.
Oh. Right. I forgot I read that earlier @_@.
My other point still stands, though. I don't think Dragon would come to Dressrosa after everything is over, just to be Sabo's taxi xP
-
@A:
Or he could just be pissed that a person fired a Bazooka at a child with the intention to kill…............That's a viable explanation too.
My fav part of this chapter was a little hint into Dragon's character and his similarity to Luffy and Garp; when the guy was confirming that Dragon was Luffy's father, he just nonchalanty replies "Oh. Yeah." No sh*ts give...........I love that!Haha yeah, true that. Just seemed so off on Dragon since he always looks angry anyway.
-
Bellamy could actually stay in Dressrosa I suppose. He's one of the better known and liked fighters of the arena. Not really linked to the country's messed up past either.
-
Seems like the Vivre Card is gonna be useful in keeping Luffy's future army in touch. Law, Barto, Cabbage, and the Happou Navy are all gonna get a piece, and perhaps Rebecca as well, in representation of all of Dressrosa. As for the rest, I'm sure they will get a class God Usopp speech, inspiring them and what not. I see two more chapters in Dressrosa. That or they leave at somepoint in the second chapter from now. 800 is when we see the SwirlyHat Pirates, I'm betting.
-
Why no team up Bellamy with Cavendish and Barto? Could be a hilarious spin-off series, those three, loosely following the strawhats because something between hate-love and complete admiration.
-
Oh wow, the chapter's already out?
I see on the cover page, Oda's still teasing with Doflamingo's eyes. I don't understand why we can't see them >_< Are his eyes One Piece?
The amnesia seems like it came out of nowhere, but it explains why he didn't try to save Ace.
I was about to ask if the crows were some Devil Fruit power I forgot about, but I guess this is new.
-
why would dragon be at dress? no reason for the number 1 and 2 to leave. Unless he can send the crows a vey long distance. I think it was kiola

hope this is what happens, either that or he sets off again or something where he isn't evolved with the plot
-
Hiding the unconscious Bellamy with Luffy's group was the best move. He's pretty much known as a die hard Doflamingo follower, it would be bad if he ended up with the other injured pirates at the palace.
-
I think that Bellamy totally got redeemed. I mean besides that fact that he is an idiot he pulled a Luffy and no matter what didn't give up on his dream of working for Doffy. It's a stupid dream but with that coupled with Luffy calling him his friend, I would not be surprised if he did join the SH. I don't think he will but if he does wouldn't be that far off base for Oda to do. Would rather have Barto or Cavendish tho….
-
I'm not the only one who got the feeling that Sabo giving the crew a Vivre Card will end up being another rescue down the line, only this time, Luffy succeeds, am I?
-
@S.C.:

Hard to say. Sabo gave them a Vivre Card for Luffy, which means if that is the case it's Luffy who will the one getting rescued.
-
nice simple chapter with a simple explanation of sabos absence. curious if he knows law saved luffy shouldnt he have thanked him? sabo didnt get to meet everyone but that ok they can rest well :]
-
Bellamy has actually had a very fleshed out, well designed character and background drawn up for him, with even some parralels to Luffy that Luffy admires most in people.
He started off as a vile villian, who was everything Luffy hated (aside from not caring about his friends). He didn't believe in dreams, he hurt Luffy and his friends, and he stole from, and hurt the helpless (Cricket)
We then see that he is an associate of DD. We believe him to be dead, or seriously injured.
Now, in Dresserosa, we see that he has begun to believe in the dreams of pirates. He has been to the Sky Island, and has done all of this to earn the respect and admiration of the Pirate whom he has admired, DD (his Shanks), since he was a child. We get a sense that Bellamy has grown an admiration for Luffy and what he represents.
Even when he fails, and is told he can be redeemed by killing Luffy, Bellamy chooses not to listen to his idol, and throws away what he has been striving for since he was a child. The chance to join DD. I'm sure Luffy can understand what it took for Bellamy to do this, as he would struggle mightily if the Pirate whom Luffy has been striving for, and based his life and journey around, turned out to take Luffy for granted and spit in his face.
Even then, after we all know Bellamy does not agree with DD, and considers Luffy a friend, he still fights Luffy (hoping to die in the process, because he can never be apart of the DD pirates after what he's learned in Dressrosa). He has lived his life dreaming to be a DD pirate, and he wants his last act, no matter how frivolous, to be a part of his journey to achieve his lifelong dream.
He is a person whom I believe Luffy understands, and has the utmost respect for. I have a feeling Bellamy will be appearing in many, many more chapters of One Piece.

Nice Post
Although didn't Bellamy actually try to kill Luffy but Dellinger stopped him?

Hard to say. Sabo gave them a Vivre Card for Luffy, which means if that is the case it's Luffy who will the one getting rescued.
So now this means Zoro will free Doflamingo from Impel Down to save Luffy from the marines.
But on a serious note, this is a biiiig hint that Zoro and Luffy are going to get separated.
Now Sabo will always know where Luffy is, so when he does need a hand, Sabo can truly come. -
But the reason why the cliché of amnesia is boring is not its believability but that it rules out other interesting alternatives. Before the chapter we were wondering why he had not appeared to meet Ace or Luffy. Now we know that… he simply got amnesia... Coherent but uninteresting compared to the expectation.
or he rushed there and couldn't make it in time. Both are feasbile, he could've been on the opposite sides of the world. The only reason why luffy made it in time was b/c he had a shichibukai helping him.
It's funny that Bellamy got the message from Luffy to follow your dreams but in the pursuit of them his crew has died and he's only been through more suffering.
i think he lost his crew, saw that sky island was real and THEN started chasing his dreams. His beliefs were only shaken when he realized luffy was right.

at that point it wasn't a dream anymore, it was his pride on the line. By fighting his hardest for DD and being beaten by Luffy, his pride was left intact. I think it was a cleanse too for him or purification, since now he's free to do whatever (which is probably help luffy become the king).

CPO leaves around 3 when the deal is going down. Final fight and broadcast happens when it's still daytime. How would they have made so much time leaving that it would take them twice as long to return? Wind and waves against them now? Plot convenience?
They left hours ago, they probably went back to their base.
Now they are returning to Dressrosa.
But shieet, when Sabo is getting the hell out cause CP0 are coming, you KNOW these guys are scary and beast.
-
Hmmm come to think of it isn't Dragon's nose a bit beak-like? His nose style always stood out for me.
-

Dressrosa's about to have a bunch of formidable guests. CP0's, Sturu, Gengoku and maybe Garp. And we already have admiral Fujitora, VA Bastille, Maynard and 3000 marines.
-
That bird is the biggest mystery. I doubt it's Dragon, it's too early for him to make another appearance and it wouldn't make sense to have the leader of the army and the chief of staff together at the same place in the open without doing something big.
-
This post is deleted!

I thought this was a great chapter and I don't understand the fuss about the amnesia. It makes perfect sense considering what happened to Sabo. Is it original or exciting, no… but it gets the job done without unnecessarily complicating things.
The best part of the chapter for me though was Dragon. I loved his casual response to the Revs asking about Luffy.
Oh, and what a great cover page...

Nice post!

Cover page represents the KHA Alliance going after Shanks and eventually helping him once their own agendas fail and Shanks says he can help them.
Dorothy= Shanks: Red haired with a sword
Scarecrow= Hawkins: Obvious
Tin Man= Kidd: Metal Theme
Cowardly Lion= Appoo: We've seen him show moments of courage but also running away scared. -

-
Only the Flamingo with the glasses on was the request, everything else was Oda's idea. That's what I gathered from the request title.
-
Suppose so, good find.
My only gripe with this chapter is that it doesn't really tell us what we're leading in to. I liked it a lot, but we have a few more questions to answer immediately.
-
I liked the chapter but…@Piitan:
Next chapter we find out the Swirly Pirates have been hit by Sugar's powers, which is why Luffy and the other at Dressrosa are so chill.
This is accurate. I was expecting a post-Baratie where everyone hauled ass but I guess it's time to stay the night. On the bright side, we'll get a nice chunk of chapters highlighting Sanji's team.

Loved the chapter. Was wondering why people was in spoiler section yesterday. I wonder if zoro eye is closed because Mihawk asked him to do it for some reason like the alcohol. Crows definitely not Dragon. Wonder whats going to happen to Luffy and who will wreck him to the point where rescue is neccessary. Zoro, Franky and Robin vs the three Cipher pol Aigis member, not sure where exactly. The others like kinemon and Bartolomeo might be preparing the ship, for stawhats departure. Which means atleast one extra crew will meet at Zou. Finally night time. What has Fujitora been doing all this time?
-
-
Who would be the Wicked Witch?
Sakazuki.
Anyways, this was a p great chapter! Nice, quick flashback, and I'm always a fan of more Dragon!
-
Who would be the Wicked Witch?
Doflamingo.
Whilst You'd think the flamingo is controlling Kidd
It is in fact Doflamingo in the background.
-
OK so you basically know what is written in the news about the revos. I find it just strange that people as minor marines and underground fodder knew him.
But well maybe I'm looking to deep into it
Maybe he heard about it, but thought it was someone else and never considered that the brother he thought was dead and always wanted to be a pirate was alive and had turned into a revolutionary.
-
Blackbeard is the key. why in earth aokiji is joining with him. he is planing to take down younko big mam or would be shanks
-
A few hours obviously has passed since Doflamingos fall, I'm pretty sure they didn't forget about Sanji. They probably talked with him and he is safely waiting for them at Zou (They escaped from Big Mom).
I don't see a better explanation :)
-
Who would be the Wicked Witch?
Big Mom duh!!!!!!
Edit: sorry didn't see the next page
-

If Aokiji goes against Shanks with Blackbeard and the KHA.. unless Shanks is disgustingly more powerful now than when he was 2 years ago. He'd probably lose.
Aokiji or any Admiral would change the battle if they had a Yonkou on their side
-
But on a serious note, this is a biiiig hint that Zoro and Luffy are going to get separated.
Or a plot device to make sure Zoro doesn't get lost anymore on an island
Joke aside, I agree that this foreshadows another split of the crew in the future.

Next Arc, Zoro needs to scape like Sanji and we won't see him, Franky, Robin, Usopp for a year. We will focus on Sanji and Luffy ;)
Seriously though, i would prefer it if Zoro was on his own, and we got a POV on him and his thought process.
-
I agree. Bellamy should not be a Nakama. Jinbe should not be a Nakama either. Bring in Bartholomew
-
Honestly, it feels like we could have figured all of that out ourselves. And amnesia? Man, that's like a copout. But it was a heartwarming chapter nonetheless, I'm not made of stone, it felt good to see a sweet closure for the revolutionaries this time out and I feel like Oda has earned himself a week off for the consistent releasing. Well done good sir. Maybe we'll finally see Nami and Sanji again next time?
-
Haven't read every page so I'm not sure if someone suggested it, but I'm thinking the crows/ravens are either some exotic paramecia like Hobby fruit or a mythological zoan.
An obvious possibility is a three legged crow, or Yatagarasu. Fact that there are many of them might be due to special ability. I haven't found any example of Yatagarasu multiplication or controlling other birds but I'm far from an expert on the matter. Besides, Oda can add abilities as he pleases, like he did with Sengoku's shockwaves.
Doubt it's Dragon. Maybe that dude with a hat that was shown?
-

He drew Kyros with two legs the whole chapter. If that wasn't intentional he really needs a break. And his editor/proofreader a shamefur dispray.

There is only one panel with Kyros that we see his two legs, might have been an assistant also but it will be fixed in the volume.
