Man, I haven't been here for a LONG time, but I had to come here to pay my respects to this great man…
It's just so sudden, I was shocked and thought it wasn't real at first. But seeing the official statement from Nintendo broke my heart. I may not have known him personally like a lot of us, but it feels as if a member of my own family has passed away. Growing up with Nintendo and becoming a gamer because of them is something I hold in my heart forever, and Iwata-san was part of it since I was a kid.
My condolences to his family, friends and colleagues at Nintendo. It seems the world is a little less bright now without him. :(
I'll remember everything he's done for Nintendo and this industry; I had played literally 3 hours of Splatoon recently and just having fun non-stop, just as Iwata-san knew, that is what video games are supposed to be. FUN.
R.I.P.
