After the last chapter I really hope we make some progress tomorrow.

I think majority of one piece fans are like that me included.
I wanted an anime to watch then HULU suggested that I should watch one piece, I watch first episode and I'm like damn this anime is shit, I went back to watching Naruto then couple of months later( I think after 6 months I tried the first episode) I had no other anime to watch and Hulu kept suggesting one piece to me then I was like "oh well, I got nothing else to watch".
I gave one piece the 2nd chance and when I reached the Morgan scene where he mentions about other Devilfruits out there, having power to control fire, cause storm, lightening then I was like damn this my kind of anime and I got hooked.

There was a panel that might indicate he can turn it off at his own volition. When he uses Leo Bazooka on Dofla, one of the people asks him why he's still bouncing and can't he stop himself, to which Luffy says "Nope.".
I agree it's nothing definitive, but Luffy not being able to deactivate G4 might be one of the answers.
Luffy wanted to use Gear 4 to finish OFF Doflamingo.
Doflamingo mentioned earlier Luffy couldnt stop bouncing. Its another drawback (if exposed). Luffy is basically a ball that kicks itself.

The fact of the matter is that Luffy didn't. Doflamingo knew Luffy would end up in that state and so did Law.
One Piece fans: If you prove points for a certain character or group you are regarded as a fanboy. If a fanboy all points must be disregarded.
It's Zyzz its cool and funny (to me) at the same time.

So, since last chapter was called "My Fight" will tomorrow's chapter be called "Our Fight" sort of a united front from everyone in Dressrosa v Doffy? Or it might just be named after the character that has the spotlight, so related to Viola's redemption or Cavendish in some way or form, and yeah I 100% see Cavendish swooping in, as half Hakuba half himself, because he'll need the speed.

You see i always thought the english translation for haki was ambition. So the 3 forms of Haki CoC CoO and CoA were all manifestations of ambition to me.
I've always translated haki as "willpower." Ambition is complicated; it might be a kind of willpower, but I'd rather call it a manifestation of willpower. You need a strong will to have ambition, but ambition also drives your will.
Willpower, generally, though, may not entail ambition (despite being often related). It is possible to have a forceful personality or will without having any real goals or ambition. You see it in a lot of young people (I was like this when I was younger): You throw yourself at everything you encounter as forcefully as possible, but you don't really seek out your own path at all. There are of course less aggressive ways of having a strong will - maybe you are dedicated to persevering whatever happens to you, or something like that.
I guess that is the literal translation. Seems like we've had several Haki-using characters to whom the idea of ambition doesn't really apply. Like what's-her-face and the priests back from Skypeia, or the majority of the Kuja warriors.
It's a good point. I think we need another distinction, though: we've been told (I think) that CoO and CoA can be trained. It is possible that many people, strong will or not, can unlock CoO and CoA through training, but that the strength of their ability is based on their willpower and so they might have very weak haki. On the other hand, ambition (a manifestation of the will) is a necessary condition for developing CoC, and the strength of your CoC may be more directly dependent on your willpower/ambition.

Birdcage is one of the first things in One Piece that I have complete disdain for, at this point, at least. It's way too overpowerd. I know this conversation has been had, but eh.
yep, its just too convenient. for someone who was pissed enough to put up the birdcage then he should have start the shrink from the very moment he put it up. and for it to basically take all of dressrosa to stop it when we have ppl like zoro, cavendish and fujitora… ALL swords men and NONE of them can even cut one string? what about kinemon and his fox fire? why cant he burn it? way too convenient.

You're completely right, if doflamingo has this power, he could've essentially blocked anyone into the birdcage and killed them… but, i hate to say this, but if you look into it logically, most of the strawhats should've been dead by now if you look at their backstories.

For everyone who says the swordsman can just cut the string…Isn't it more likely that the strings would regrow extremely fast, vs it just leaving a big weird gap? If so, anyone who is super fast might be able to escape, but then all the citizens wouldn't be able to. If that's the case (or at least how I rationalized it), there's no point in trying to cut the cage.

Doflamingo's strings have been shown to be able to cut off the legs of super giants and restrain massive men made of pure diamond. It's safe to say they're extremely sharp and not easy to cut.

These strings aren't all bullshit IMO, they are super sharp and strong as they resisted Laws slashes in his room. They're plot convenience, but I genuinely believe they'll just regenerate. Destroying one small section of the birdcage and it reforming really isn't going to help the situation at all.
I don't think we need to judge who can cut what.

Law's fruit denies the properties of matter allowing him to go thru anything no matter how hard it is.
In that panel Law's not cutting, it's a deffense move from Doula's atack.
In fact if Law had stamina to make a Room as huge as the actual size of the BC, he would slice it into little bit pieces.

I think the reason why this fight is boring minus gear 4th is that
1.) The forced situation to create luffy as the hero even though there are many possible plot holes armor going on.
2.) the lack of consistency in terms of power with DD, time scene he's op'd then his power isn't then it is again…barghghgg
3.) lack of explanation on powers of DD, birdcage, lack of parasite usage...etc
4.) the over lack of developed villains.
Even with a backstory DD doesn't seem that good of a villain. Croc was so much more compelling.

Yeah, it's a cheap plot device to create tension. Though I have a feeling that this string fruit woudn't be anywhere near this powerful if Law's fruit didn't exist. It's a very obnoxious power creep of "I have the power to have all the powers I want to make the plot go wherever I want."
