Another interesting thing on 3 eyed girl… Oda had her in like three panels, and in all of them her dialogue was "...." Now, I'm pretty sure he's not going to have a silent character, and he could have had her say any little comment. Could that have been him thinking about the eventual anime, and not wanting them to cast a major character 3-4 years ahead of time based on a nothing audition piece?
@The:
He does have some overlap in that he's a pervert swordsman, but has shown that his fighting style isn't redundant.
He also cuts fire, which could be running into Sanji's territory. That said, him wanting women to dress properly does work well against Sanji, in the same way Paulie could have potentially back in the day.
@The:
You know, Kinemon is in a really interesting position. Theoretically, he could be with the crew for a total of six, seven years of our time. He has something going on with Kaido, and he's a samurai from and going to Wano, so it stands to reason that he'll be heavily involved with Wano (especially if that's where we deal with Kaido). On the other hand, we could be going after Big Mom first, and seeing as Momo is with that section of the Strawhat crew, Kine will be involved in the coming Big Mom conflict (depending on how it goes down with Sanji though).
He's also had fairly good interaction with the crews, and had a unique introduction… in pieces, and his design is fairly unique though not great. (And Luffy did invite his legs to join the crew.)
I personally find him pretty boring, but the sheer logistics of how long he's going to be around really do make him a fairly prime candidate, as long as Momo is resolved in some way. (The easiest being not actually his son.) Its extra hard to judge since his backstory and character depth are blatantly being held off on till Wano.
"I think he's boring" doesn't matter though, plenty of people said the same about Jinbe, and Robin was a bit off at the start too. (though the wardrobe does clash a little with Jinbe as well. Samurai and mafioso are pretty different, but they both rock the kimono. Sanji and Brook both rocked suits, but thats been less of a thing since he bacame soul king.)
He has a better chance than anyone that premiered in Dresserossa, but his role as it currently stands is hard to gauge.
Law definitely isn't joining though, his story is done with Dofla beaten, and yeah, he has his own crew to go back to and "rival crew" status to uphold.
This might also just be how Oda rolls now. The crew is going to be a certain size, but different characters just tag along for extended periods. Get the cake and eat it too.
