Yeah, I've not read the Dragon Ball Z manga but know for a fact that the anime has a lot of episodes like this and it was the worst thing to watch.
So let's see:
-Law should have been done for that arc. I wonder why he had to get involve again.
-I don't mind the birdcage thoughness. I find it pretty reasonable actually. I also don't consider it OP since Dofla is inside and CoA seems enough to not be cut.
-Still saying the gladiators should have gang up on Dofla.
-I am surprise how no one is calling the admiral on his BS.
-Princess tears are cool.
-Next chapter Luffy get haki back.

Oda is great at showing character reactions to this dire situation. That being said the way Luffy is being set up to take down Doflamingo doesn't work for me. Doflamingo is injured, why can't Zoro take him out? Or Fujitora? Yes, I understand the main character has to take down the main bad guy but it should be done in a believable way with minimum plot holes. This is way too forced. Having a straight up Luffy VS Doflamingo fight without this timeout would've been better.

I don't think Fujitora's gravity powers work the way everyone seems to be assuming they do. People are saying he should use his power to stop the birdcage and I legitimately fail to see how. Or, at least, how he could without risking significant collateral damage and loss of life.
Unless I'm misremembering, I've never seen Fujitora's powers work out well on the small scale. Even that one but when he was introduced took out a decent chunk of floor. On that note, every use of his power seems to have been just increasing gravity, making things heavier, and calling down meteors. We already saw the latter fail and I don't see how the former could help. Pushing the birdcage down to ground level seems like a bad idea to me.
This is the moment Law should have saved gamma knife for.
It was largely due to the Gamma Knife they even got this far though.
Just imagine Doffy hiding inside the SMILE factory and locking the door…

It's relatively speaking in the One Piece world, not something relative to real life. An admiral, 2nd in command revolutionary, Zoro etc etc have to all work together against a move which Doffy doesn't even have to pay attention to.

cmon gravity fruit , he could just lift the whole ground under the birdcage .
beside that his power must be really cool , wonder if he can create a black hole ,or use some moves like centripetal or centrifugal gravity circling his opponents head with his hands and applying the power , boom … ( another fruit going to waste while mr strings have it all , but oh well whats the point in complaining we are close to the end of the arc )
overall i think the chapter was necessary , Luffy will win in 2 chaps or more

There is a good chance that some of these will be explained next week, while others are just not possible with the way the arc developed (all Colloseum fighters storming the flower fields as a sign of support to Luffy), but that's not really satisfying either, because while it explains why certain characters weren't at certain places, it just makes them look stupid.

I guess I can understand everyone's complaints, it's just… Saying One Piece has gone downhill, or that it "sucks now" is a little harsh, isn't it? Everyone has parts of a story they dislike, you can't expect everything to go the way you want it to go, or be perfect or anything.
I understand a lot about the birdcage is symbolic and the struggle associated with overcoming it also ties into some other themes this arc, but there is still too much stuff that Oda needs to address;
- Why can't anybody hide in the ground. There are several superhuman characters walking around, none of these guys can blast a hole in the ground?
- What about the underground port? Maybe there is too much rubble laying around, but again, a bunch of fallen rocks shouldn't be a deal breaker for characters like the colloseum fighters?
- Law can teleport
- Dressrosa is surrounded by huge boulders at the edge of the island. Nobody can blast one of these away?
- Kanjuro can create doors that seemingly lead somewhere safe, so what about that?
- Why isn't anybody thinking about hiding inside the factory?
- Are the dwarves even really in danger considering their size?

I actually liked the chapter, even if it was a bit repetitive. Its wonderful to see Robin, Barto and Fujitora join the fray, and having Rebecca and Law be up to something is way better than having them sit out the climax. Mansherry's part was better than her past appearances, and Viola was perfect. The bit with "God being angered" was hilarious as well. Not a perfect chapter, but I enjoyed it. But I understand where people are coming from.

They're talking about in Punk Hazard. But I don't think Law used his Ope Ope powers to switch them, I think he literally went to like, the supply of Seastone Handcuffs, and switched a pair out for a regular pair. Otherwise, he would've been able to switch his handcuffs when he was being interrogated by Doflamingo and friends.

Ha ha, this needs to be taken into consideration, too. I mean, how many of have been following One Piece from the very beginning, really? If, say, a book were released in a chapter-per-week format, people would enjoy it less than they would if they were reading the whole thing straight through. And hell, people need to start learning to use their suspense of disbelief.

I have no idea why I made the dragging comment hahaha. I don't feel One Piece drags… it's just that I didn't personally enjoy anything in this chapter.

Wait… But, he just cuts those off?? Law's powers have shown that he can cut stuff like that, doesn't matter if it's hard as seastone or diamond. Besides, he's not really "cutting" them in the sense we thinking of cutting. He's separating them. Let's think of Law's powers in this sense: when he creates a "Room", it's like he's creating his own dimension of sorts. We can gain information about these powers from looking at it's effects on living things. When cutting a limb off a person, they don't start bleeding or anything. Therefore, we can interpret that the limb and torso from said cut individual are still attached in some way, just not in a way we can see in the metaphysical universe. So, the chains are still separated, but not cut. They're still attached somehow, just not in a way we're shown. Kind of think of it as a small-scale wormhole or something.
Of course, this poses a question: what happens to that person who's limb was cut off, if they leave the "Room"? Bloody, or still connected?

Pulling/pushing the strings with his gravity, levitate it upwards. There's a lot of possibilities that seem much better than just pushing the strings with his sword.

What the hell is "Admiral Level", anyways? The Admirals have differing amounts of strength, different ways of fighting, different strategies, ect. The concept of power levels is very flawed, and doesn't speak for the true ability of a character. Imagine if Pokemon didn't have different stats, like Speed or Special Attack. Just "higher number is stronger" logic. It wouldn't be fun, and it'd be very unbalanced.
I hope we get an explanation for why bird cage is so strong…:blink:

Remember, the only reason Birdcage is not cutting the Seastone is that Seastone has the unique property of nullifying DF Powers, though apparently not enough to actually get rid of the strings.
the Birdcage is just ridiculous, Dofla could have litterally dropped it on the bay of Marineford, when the Whitebeard pirates showed up ,and they could have done nothing about it…
he doesn't even need to stay inside of it since he can simply make it pop out of a string clone, nullifying the only possible downside of that damn thing
garbage chapter. Oda tries too hard to drag things out for drama. when there really is no sense of danger.
