I don't think finding One Piece is that simple. It's not just a matter of time. Just because they're after it for 20 years and still haven't found it, doesn't mean they aren't looking for it.
Like I said: I strongly believe that getting to Laftel is not just a matter of sailing there, like any other island. There's a trick to it, and the hard part is probably finding out HOW to get there. And the answer must be in the Poneglyphs. That's why Roger could do it and that's why the Strawhats will be able to do it too. Because of our beloved archeologist.
To be honest, it will be highly unfair if only people with Poneglyph knowledge can reach Raftel. Or for that matter, people who can hear "voice of all things".
I think Raftel should be fair game to anyone who has the dream of becoming Pirate King, rather than limited to those with ad-hoc special abilities.
