Bleach Discussion 0: Hello Darkness my old friend
-
-
I haven't commented on this chapter yet because I can't find anything to say. I'm coming up blank, empty, white space, zilch, zero, nothing!
Why Bleach, why?
I feel the same. I feel so empty reading Bleach.
-
Even the jokes feel so empty. I can no longer remember which scene in Bleach that I genuinely thought to be funny.

The chair
-
@Purple:
The chair
?
The chair/Aizen relationships is one of the best things Kubo accomplished in these last past years of Bleach. How can you consider it funny?I can´t believe people are sobbing over the lame Ass. Class. flashback when such quality material has been released over here.

"Chair, you've got some 'splainin to do."
the chair stabs Momo from behind

-
Aizen as the serious shinigami man and Chair as the free-spirited, hippie life companion? Too much Dharma and Greg. They clearly need to be the Monica and Chandler of a group of 6 bachelor Shinigami in some upper district of Rukongai.
-
I wouldn't be surprised if the godhand ripoff will appear out of the blue, with juju bach joining them as the new guy with a moustache armor, and all the shinigamis sacrificed
-
-
I almost forgot that Hougyoku, a wish-granting orb of whatever, is still merged with Aizen. This can also mean that Aizen cannot escape the binds simply because deep inside his heart, Aizen wishes to never part with the Chair in the first place.
-
He looks human, I don't like it, I'd rather keep his Douchy image when I make fun of him.

2. His love of white nothingness has permeated his wristwatch. -

-
I'll bet his feet are manicured as well.

Perhaps the Hougyoku is made of Chair and is merely manipulating Aizen until it can return to the master who created it.
No, wait, that's the One Ring.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
One Chair to rule them all, One Chair to confine them,
One Chair to seat them all and in the darkness bind them. -
The chair is the last boss.
-
Kubo really does like his life
-
!
!
! Kubo loves his life.So different. I guess that (in)famous pic of him with sunglasses, arms crossed was ages ago. XD

Guess which much-beloved character makes his/her comeback this week!

Guess which much-beloved character makes his/her comeback this week!
i think it's honestly a good sign that i have no idea who that is
-
It would be better if Kubo didn't as well.
I mean, every single ally and enemy from every arc and every faction coming back to form a huge alliance in the last fight could be EPIC if properly done. But when you have to keep the plot in an almost non-existent pace to add characters in small doses for many chapters it really gets boring. Fast.
-
Well, I guess it's true that she died on her way back to her planet if she's here now
-
What the hell is she wearing?
-

Oh no, it's one thing to have Ririka back, but this probably means Kubo didn't forget about the rest of the Fullbringers, so we're gonna see them again too.
It'd be something to have Aizen mess with all of them or have Giselle turn them into zombies.
-
But of course Tsukishima will come back. He's been Bach's best friend forever

right the fullbringer girl with the awesome ability to put people in toyhouses i nearly forgot how dare you remind me
-
I guess she will be as usefull as all the other characters were so far. :ninja:

Shhhh….
Do you hear that noise?
That's Gliblord furiously flipping all the tables in his house right now.
-
Nothing happened.
-
Nothing important happened except the Soul King got absorbed….....
As if the main boss wasn't already powerful enough,m though i find it ironic given how powerful the S.K is in terms of power, he wasn't able to protect himself or do anything to sotp what is coming....
-
I have this feeling that by absorving the Soul King just makes Bach weaker for some reason.
Also, Love Neliel's comeback.

Oh, its the old putting previously unknown reiatsu pocket-dimensions into cute rooms and transforming cute rooms into Videogame Boxes on rails and stuffing it all into a garganta in order to travel around trick
Also, did this arc ever have whatchamacallit, momentum? There doesn't seem to be any around, though I could swear there was something about the world ending….
-
At least Neliel's back :) Hope she does something

There is no narrative cohesion or flow.
WOW IT'S GRIMMJOW, LET'S ALL SOAK IN THE SHOCK AND DELIGHT–oh wait no not even going to be a big cliffhangery thing, here's a grabbag of other irrelevant characters with no emotional stakes piled in with an overwrought metaphysical transport lecture no one cares about, underwhelming Ishida beat, Bach's inky back, the end
-

I love how Kubo seems incredibly obsessed with explaining reishi and reiatsu mumbo jumbo ways of mumbo jumbo travelling mumbo jumbo storage BLA BLA BLA. . .but completely and utterly disregards narration, pace, momentum or anything of that nature. Like that's secondary, first comes some half-baked but oh-so-wordy explanations for things that are honestly not as exciting, nor engaging, nor smart nor interesting as Kubo probably things they are.
And the character reveals. . .we said it last chapter. It's a check list. And Kubo is going through it in an as perfunctory manner as humanly (or Kubonly) possible. Here's Grimmjow, stand aside, here's Nell. . .Grimmjow no longer matters! Sudden burst of comedy and here's Riruka and Game Boy Kid! Nell no longer matters!
-
It's like, SUPER not the time for this, Kubo

Also "Urahara-san made me a bracelet to turn into any form I want!". Oh jeez, I had no idea stabilizing Nel's form was THAT easy. Nothing less from Mr. Walking Plot Device, eh?
-
oh great two characters i kinda liked and two i really really hate are back
also, look: its another magic transportation device with retarded, boring explanation. how many does that make this arc? like 8?
first there was the that pillar ichigo got up on the first time
then he could only return down by taking snake way
then bach used the opening THAT method made to get up
then ichi and pals took the cannon up
then the urahara has an elevator to take up but it needs charging
then that other scientist guy has reiatsu supercharger to imediatly solve thatnow its this vaguely explained bullshit, why didnt they use that one to get ura and the shini troupe as well? he was the one directing these c-list characters right? why didnt he tell them to pick him up first?
whatever
-
What more there is to say. With this kind of writing, Kubo could make Bleach last a decade more and not a single day would pass in the story.
-
Now only Harribel is missing for a "return".
-
Now only Harribel is missing for a "return".
It'd be hilarious if Kubo panned back to her after three years of being a hanging plot point and she was literally just a skeleton in those chains now
-
I thought Boots girl killed herself…
Oh well
-
Bad enough with the Grimjow return, but then more insufferable characters returned. Just what I wanted.
I like Ichigo showing emotion other than neutral smug, so there was that. Needing all this explanation about the box was not needed. If the world and plot were actually fleshed out before, I could understand. Instead, we just get an explanation about stuff that has been only important a few times (if at all, since a few things I don't remember at all).
How do people think this is the greatest thing ever? That, and it being deep and meaningful?
-
So taking bets, does anyone believe this plan to ambush Ywhach will actually have any success? Given his bullshit eyes that "see all". LOL
-
Well, at least Grimmjow is still hot
-
I thought Boots girl killed herself…
Oh well
I had the same issue myself before remembering Soul Society is also the afterlife.
-
Is our mutual friend back as well?
-
Never have I felt so indifferent to something like I do everytime I read a bleach chapter. There is just nothing there at all to care about.
