What a fu*k is Fujitora doing ? Citizens are going to die in an hour, and he is betting on pirate… Is he a marine admiral or what ? Isn't peace supposed to be marine's priority ?
Chapter 781: "Long-Cherished Desire"

Luffy´s leg didn´t get black when kicked Trébol, colorless haki it is actually still a thing.
just noticed this. Will it be a volume correction, or….?
-
I won't say so .
Don't forget some chapters ago Don had to save him from getting beat rather easy from law .
This is the same law that was getting unfair from Don whole arc , i think that told us he was not up there.Yeah, after Law had cut him into pieces with a surprise attack.
It's not like Law was just going to one shot Trebol with hardly any effort.
Even at that, we don't know how much that injection shot would have had on Trebol.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
With the same reasoning, Luffy kicked non-chalant Sai when was fighting against Ideo, to go fight more seriously with Chinjao. They had their hakis kinda matched with Luffy being somewhat superior, but recently the same Sai kicked Chinjao kinda non-chalant and won over him with just one attack.
I know that the situations are different and other things, but the point is that when someone is hit while caught by surprise they are at their weakest state (and it happened in the same chapter today with Law surprise attack, or even when Kyros beheaded the clone string!).
Sai was in the middle of fighting Ideo and got with his attention solely focused on that opponent, was blindsided by a jet stamp and ended up outside of the ring.
Trebol, on the other hand, tried to run by an opponent in full view and got casually kicked aside by him.

@Daz:
There are also very very dumb things like Doflamingos line that "I'll just make another country!!!!"
I hear Elbaf is nice this time of year.
-
Doffy's fruit is getting way2retarded. I thought clones that can travel around the island were crazy enough, but now he can heal internal injuries as well?
Why can't he? If luffy can use his powers to more or less Dope himself then whats stopping Doflamingo someone we've seen as strong, smart and very much interested in DF abilities not do the same?
This is one of those, mastery of the fruit moments and I honestly think it works well. He can control his strings in any way he likes, plus for someone who wants Immortality, it doesn't seem like a stretch that he'd try to make use of his DF this way.
-
Actually forgot something… So Law shambled with some fodder, who was shot instead... Nice guy
Was it the same guy killed because laughing at Pica?

@Daz:
Ah, I misread the placement of the "time passing" black panel indicator, you're right, this was just a single attempt at Doffys life, not over an extended period. My bad.
Doffys death-defying has nothing on Enels, By the way.
Enel's was cooler though because at that moment he sort of went from a guy with a powerful fruit, to a guy with a powerful fruit who has mastered its use.
-
Either Oda should've let Law kill Doffy or just kept him down and let Luffy beat him instead. Really everything up to Doffy standing up again was pretty decent, but after that the chapter felt pointless, as we are in the same place as before it. Law killing Doffy would've been a bit anticlimatic, but unexpected in an acceptable way.
Trebol is as useless as ever, and we still haven't seen the person Sabo is going to face, so that will take a chapter as well.
Also Law's fruit is really starting to get way too strong. He has been fighting non-stop, and in no way should he be able to sustain a "room" so big. Also, his energy attack didn't fit, as someone else pointed out. Doffy's fruit has been cool so far, but him stitching up his organs felt a tad too much. To be fair though, we don't know how much damage Law's attack really did.
Furthermore if Luffy beats him now, how much credit can he truly get? It seems like a pretty big handicap Doffy has, and it asks the question: How strong is Doffy compared to enemies in the rest of the New World? If Luffy barely beats him in this state, how is he going to fare from there on out?
-
Like Daz already mentioned, Doffy tying his organs together really isn't that big a deal when we had Enel restarting his own heart before.
-
Mangastream version is out
The Room was not invisible it was just so big that dolfa and trebol didnt noticed like it was stated here beforeAll over great chapter Law did great now Luffy stands a chance i guess against a wounded dofla
-
Wait, I am confused about something. So Law was the actual person whose arm was cut off by Doffy then he switched himself with the dude below the floor. Wouldn't Doffy notice the dude's got an arm (whereas it should be cut off)?
No, because Law intentionally lay with his back to DD so that he wouldn't notice the switch.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
@Myu:
Law's pose allowed his left arm to hide anyway. Still Doffy should have been able to notice he used shambles.
As far as i can remember they had the openings in the building the see outside of the palace.
how would he have noticed? Shambles works instantly, there is no delay between the switch.
-
Also, the biggest change from last chapter is that Law's spirit is now broken. Law just threw his most deadly attack at Doflamingo and collapsed from exhaustion but the bastard just stood right back up. He's crying because no matter what he does he can't bring down the man who killed his hero.
Luffy has consistently gotten most serious not when someone he cares about is beaten or injured but when they feel helpless and hopeless. Law just reached that point.
Good point.
I liked the chapter the only thing I didnt like was the , I'm repairing my organs with strings bullshit.
Hi Jinbe and 10 kid.
Doffy himself outright said that it's not like he was "healing himself"; rather holding his internal organs together and the only reason he's currently not dead on the floor.
-
I actually told me to never ask again something about Law's haxxed fruit… But still 2 questions
1. How Law could know there is a random fodder down there with similar clothing... Can he even see everything in his room? Hax to new level.
2. How could he talk with Luffy?Ok this is my idea. First and foremost, I think Law is aware of everything that's in his room or a more simple explanation would be, Observation haki.
The guy didn't have similar clothes, Law shambled him into his clothes and vice versa.
When Luffy went to check on Law, Either Law had already shambled back, waiting for a chance to ambush DD or he shambled just as Luffy reached him. But the main point was, Law was behind Luffy when he talked to him.
-
that final staredown omg
-
It might just be me, but I have a feeling Law might be done after this arc. His whole purpose for everything that happened was to defeat Doflamingo, and after that happens, he doesn't really have a purpose. After he gets healed he might just part ways with the crew after this arc, they'll still remain Ally's, but I think they'll go their seperate ways.
Actually he still does have a purpose. To be the Pirate King. This will be more of burying his past and now being able to dedicate his life to his goal and not avenging Corazon.
You have to remember that we still don't completely know Law. From what we saw, his crew seemed to have done him a lot of good.
-
What Can I say? Like the arabs commentators cheering for Lionel Messi on big games…...
PAAA PAAA PAAA PAAA PAAAA!!!!! Shit's getting real... This chapter is just insane!
Thank you ODA! el Mejor del mundo!
-
Actually forgot something… So Law shambled with some fodder, who was shot instead... Nice guy
Don't remember him claiming he was nice:happy:. Plus he's a pirate and that guy was Doffy's henchman anyway.
-
Doffy himself outright said that it's not like he was "healing himself"; rather holding his internal organs together and the only reason he's currently not dead on the floor.
That's some medical knowledge. First he would have to know exactly what Law's attack did to his organs. Then, without a way to see the damage, hold/stitch his organs in a way they actually work while he fights. Maybe he has the knowledge to do that, and maybe Law's attack didn't do as much as he stated, but it still seems too much.
-
This post is deleted!

Like Daz already mentioned, Doffy tying his organs together really isn't that big a deal when we had Enel restarting his own heart before.
Er, sorry, but the point I was getting at was that with Enel it was fresh and neat and tied better into his DF, whereas with Doffy its a bit of a rehash, with a slightly more BS explanation.
-

To be honest is not too much, if he has strings inside of him, he could potentially know the exact position of his organs, you can't feel it from the outside but you could from the inside
-
Pretty much the only thing that changed after the events of this chapter was Trebol's position and credibility.
Apart from that we've still got Luffy and Doffy squaring up to each other with Law down and out.
It does seem like a waste of a chapter.
Luffy's block non-chalant block was still pretty cool though.
It reminded me of Sakazuki standing on Whitebeard's bisento.
Really though. Seeing Law try what amounts to one last big attack to defeat someone he has vowed to defeat and fail utterly, didn't matter?
I thought one of the flashback's purpose was to make this moment stand out more?
Eh it worked for me.
-
Luffy is just from another level after the 2 years time-skip… We didn't see much interesting power-ups in FI and PH... not a new special technique I mean, like Gear 4 or something... I think it's time to give it a try! :D
I'm just surprised how easly and epicly Luffy belitteled Sai back at the coliseum and now Trebol lol... Man.. Trebol has to fight himself lol.
-

One hour is pretty much time to finish Do Amingo.
-
Bye bye One piece. It was a good shonen.
Its too bad that you're leaving us but before you go. Mind telling us what went wrong and how you'd have wanted it handled?
-
@Daz:

Lol fair enough.
Personally, I can buy the string guy essentially stitching his own organs back together more than I can buy the guy who's heart has stopped still being able to use his powers to restart it.
-
@LordEnel:
To be honest is not too much, if he has strings inside of him, he could potentially know the exact position of his organs, you can't feel it from the outside but you could from the inside
Maybe, but he would still have to operate fast enough to avoid organ failure, unless his ability does it automatically, which would be a better explanation.

Law is Wiper. Wow, I can't believe I just said that. Both character landed a 'killing blow', but the villain just stands right back up, repairing their injuries with their Devil Fruit Powers. That got me thinking: is Dressrosa the New World's Skypeia and Alabasta? Personally, I've come to the conclusion that this arc is not meant to parallel just Alabasta, but Skypeia (and Jaya for that matter) too. As most of us already know, Dressrosa is an obvious parallel to Alabasta. Its villain is a malevolent, plan driven Shichibukai, it has a royal family being scape goated for the countries problems, it has subordinates with similar powers, it has a reunification of the protagonist with an older brother, and it has a marine lead who doesn't do much. Less obvious, but just as apparent, it parallels Skypeia: it has a villain with a sense of mad entitlement, a murder game brought on by the villains devil fruit, and the return of characters introduced in Jaya & Skypeia (Bellamy, Burgess, Blackbeard, Norland). Truly, it is rather obvious that Dressrosa is just as much the New World's Skypeia as it is its Alabasta. With that said, I expect a few things from the finale of the arc, primarily because of Dressrosa's relation to Skypeia.
1. A 3-4 Chapter Flashback of Doffy's life after killing his father right before Luffy deals the final blow. This would parallel the Norland FB in right before Enel's defeat and the ringing of bell that followed in Skypeia in various ways
2. A 1-2 Chapter Mix of Bellamy FB and Norland's adventures in Dressrosa

Well, Doflamingo substituting his organs is at least less bullshit than his full body clone with everything made of strings. Nice chapter I think.
-
Really though. Seeing Law try what amounts to one last big attack to defeat someone he has vowed to defeat and fail utterly, didn't matter?
I thought one of the flashback's purpose was to make this moment stand out more?
Eh it worked for me.
We've already had x, y and z between Doffy and Law.
They've already talked about Corazon and his murder being Law's reason for hating Doflamingo.
They've already has some brutal fights that invariably ended with Doflamingo standing over Law and shooting him repeatedly.
In this chapter we got nothing new in terms of Law and Doffy's relationship, and it ended once again with Law down and Doffy just about to start fighting Luffy.
In fact we're actually in a less tense situation now, since Law has gone from Schrodinger's Law to Exhausted Law.
-
The problem I have with this chapter is Law's devil fruit ability leaving kind of an asspullish impression. Maintaining a giant Room, jumping naked into other guy's clothes, and moving a naked guy into his clothes, reversing the procedure, using a Gamma Knife, creating another Room, using Countershock. All that after he was already mostly spent. But ok, this time he's "shortening his life" to do it. When all else fails, you can always count on a manga character to use up his life to fight some more.
Another problem is Dofla standing there being an easy target. Where's the string net? Where's the footwork?
And I was kinda hoping Luffy will fight Dofla at his best, not while he has internal bleeding.
-
i´m getting really tyred of this arc
let´s see what oda will invent now that doula is fighting for real
cause, to me doula is too op -
Wow interesting chap. At least second half, first one was a bit slow. Really shocked with Law… And it was obviously too easy for Doffla to be defeated so "easily" :P
So final battle now? :> Maybe Law is finally down for a count. But what about Trebol? Btw. it was iteresting how he was scared that Doffla will get on his knees…
And that Luffy stopping DOffla's leg was awesome or what ? :D
-

It seems that Do Amigo was ready to block, dodge… Luffy's attack. But when Law used Shambles, he got confused and couldn't react.

He was ready to block or dodge, but he still got stabbed right in the chest by a one armed man?
He can be surprised, but his fighting sense should be able to take over, you know. For someone so strong and fast as Dofla, he sure as hell has shitty reflexes. And Observation probably isn't something he's good at.
He obviously had to have his feet firmly planted in the ground for Law's attack to succeed and it just seems Oda went about it lazily.

He was focused on Luffy and then bang Law, the dead guy who he just shot about a gazillion times pops into existence right in front of him wielding some weird energy knife.
I can understand the fraction of a second he had left to react before he got the knife in his chest being somewhat overpowered by sheer surprise.
-

I think it more the "guy who should be dead just popped up in front of me totally made me freeze for a split second in shock." At this point he has cut off Law's arm, shot him several times and for all intense and purposes should be dead. He was expecting a rubber boy to hit him, not an overly hyped corpse.
-
So Law wanted to finish up Doflamingo with "one arm Counter Shock" while as he said on Punk Hazard it didnt worked on Vergo.. hmmm…
As for chapter - situations that took place were only barely possible with level of hax that most likely only Laws Devil Fruit has.
It was neat seeing very resolved Luffy going at it, next chapter should be more of an exchange between Luffy and Doflamingo directly.I guess that Burgess is going at the top to try and take Doflamingo on as he cannot escape island with Birdcage being all around it.
-
Missed opportunity to have Doflamingo's eyes burst through his glasses in an Enel Face.
-

Doflamingos shock was also part of reason why attack landed Razh.
-
It seems one of Doffy's weaknesses is sudden shambles. He's always shocked as hell. It was even a bit hilarious.
His other weakness is knowing how to properly shoot Law with a gun. Corazón was no problem, but Law is trickier, his internal organs harder to reach.
-
I don't like Law's powers I think they're dumb. All the 'room' and 'shambles' things are okay but these 'gamma knives' attacks just seem kind of bullshit. Didn't care for this chapter but I am very much ready to have Luffy and Doflamingo duke it out.
Also Doffy for fucks sake just do what Arlong does. DO THIS TO KILL. STOP MISSING LIKE AN IDIOT.
-
And I was kinda hoping Luffy will fight Dofla at his best, not while he has internal bleeding.
Point of Doflamingo strings is to piece his organs together same as stopping intrenal bleeding.
As long as strings hold up Doflamingo is going to be pretty much okay.Strings are reason why he looked to be just fine after taking Red Hawk and Injection shot, continuing to fight properly- no bleeding in place where he was hit if we look at it.
-
Plot twist, Law actually removed all his own organs in preparation for fighting Doflamingo.

If he would shoot their vital spots they would be dead right away- both Law and Corazon.
If you want to really execute somebody you shoot like Arlong I dont think that Doflamingo would miss those vital organs if that would be anybody else than Corazon or Law in front of him.To be it felt like Doflamingo still was somehow hesitating even at moment of "killing" Law.
-
Also, good on Doffy for finally admitting that he's a huge sociopath and that Rocinante really meant nothing to him.

If the mook survives then you get the point, before him he was still trying to get law to cooperate. And cora did die very slowly.
There's the small but likely chance that laws internal organs are in another mook as well.
-
In One Piece philosophy a character frustrated in his honour is punished worse than being dead. @_@"
-
The op fruit is in the bullshit category of paramecia, with the mero, nyku, hobby.
The shadow fruit and hollow fruit would be in the category as well without their weakness, and the art fruit if giolla was competent.

He thought that Law was dead… Seeing a man you just killed seconds ago in front of you, will confuse anyone and will leave them in a shock.
Plus, Law's Shambles is instantaneous (It already worked on Do Amigo before, he couldn't react that time too).
