@maxterdexter:
But then, there's Lola, who puts any "you'll die if you set foot in the new world unprepared" things to doubt.
And what makes you say that?
Because you assume Lola was super weak and managed anyway? There's no major reason to think that.
[hide]Lola's crew came from the new world where, presumably, they were under the protection and help of her "really strong mother" most of the time… but it was getting their shadows stolen by a warlord that screwed them. That'll mess with anyone, no matter how good you are.
we really have absolutely no context for how strong Lola's crew actually was. No, it obviously wasn't a crazy Supernova style crew and it certainly wasn't the strawhats, but it might have been decent strength for the new world.
Yes, we've gotten used to Luffy going toe to toe with warlords, but that is not the status quo. As far as we know, he's the only supernova that's done that, let alone on a regular basis. (Even counting Law versus Dofla... Law has planned for YEARS to deal with him and is just getting his but kicked left and right.)
Moria may have been a shadow of his former strength, but he was still extremely powerful and did have an unstoppable zombie army... and he had the shadows of Lola's crew so there wasn't really much she could do. Maybe Lola and her crew would have been fully capable of slaughtering Kuro, Krieg, Arlong, Mr. 3, or even CP9, but would have been beaten by Crocodile or Enel, or obviously, Moria.
Being beaten by a warlord, even the "weakest" of them (not counting Buggy) isn't a bar to really measure by.[/hide]
