I wouldn't even mind if Buffalo randomly showed up at the Flower Fields. Just let Robin take someone out, Jesus. 13 Executives on this island, 5 Straw Hats, and still no opponent for herself.
Chapter 774: Tontatta Warrior Chief, Leo

Hm… I don't know, the chapter was not very interesting compared to the prior 4-5, but given how important it was to the plot and how well it finished that annoying dwarf rescue story I'm still glad it was there and I will aplaud Oda for finally ending all the discussions about what Jora was doing. It seems as if he has come to the realization that basically everyone just hated the dwarves story and wanted it to end.
--- Update From New Post Merge ---
Nope, actually this was a 15 page chapter. Counting the cover page. Just counted them.
And yeah, not only does that happen, but 760 and 761 both had only 13 pages.
Oh, I guess you're right. I forgot about the chapter titles and commercials and shit. :P
-
I'm happy that we have a conclusion to the rescue the dwarf princess side story . It looks like We're just might see Diamante bein' taken out.
I liked the chapter for what it was . -

Oh, you think so do you?

I'm guessing Robin or Franky will take some tears from Mansherry, give them to Chopper, who will later learn how to make a cure for every disease based on the formula of her tears.
-

Well, 761 was actually 15 pages. 760 is really the extreme exception. I'd assume it was unfinished when the due date came or something like that.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
It's because of full spread pages. They are always 17 pages :)
Along with what Kouch said, page counts usually range from 15-19, with exceptions such as 760 (with 13 pages), and "special" chapters like 2, 598, and the Gaimon chapter that had pages in the 20s. I'm sure there are a few more, but those are the ones I can think of off the top of my head.

Yup, totally right, 761 was 15. And yes, I too thought 760 was unfinished or something.
Didn't know the Gaimon chapter had extra pages. Well, he deserved at least that much considering how fast he went by.

This chapter could have been much better.
Luckily I enjoyed Jora's evilness, Mansherry's reactions and Leo's attack.
And I've enjoyed every other Tontatta chapter. -
Y'all talking about Magic Dwarf piss need to get off the R.Kelly train.
I'm looking forward to Doflamingo's plans being backfired as per usual this arc and his secret weapon being used not to heal his own team but all of his enemies. He'll probably start generating tons of string clones to fight everyone.
-
This just had no spark.

So I think I got what Oda is doing right here:
Law lose his arm >
Oda puts on the same arc a hax df that can operate in everything like a god (in the hands on some very good doctor), a healing df and a df that can stitch everything >
Law gets back his arm with the combination of all above powers but he needs some time to rest and be in form again.
So no more Law with SH's > SH's go on Wano and Whole Cake Island = No Kaido for now and Big Mom goes down first
Kaido comes later whe Law is ready
What do you think guys?
-
I don't like the heal heal fruit but i hope they use it to heal the poor giant of Elbaf :)

Kin'emon wants to go to Zou too, buy with Sanji getting kidnaped is quite hard to think about Zou arc but they're still going for sure and then Wano where all the serious shit could happen.
-
Did we really need another crying princess Oda?
Underwhelming chapter for an underwhelming subplot. -

They can go at Zou and there will be separate
-
i'm still urging for the Sanji all-out plan! This arc is getting long but i think it's an important start for the world rampage.
-
Anyone else thinking that Leo failing his move would've been awesome?
-
Did we really need another crying princess Oda?
The number of them is countable on one hand… so what's the issue?
-
I'm surprised that a healing power showed up in this arc. We're bound to get a near-duplicate in the future, like Machvise to Miss Valentine
@xan:
And then we have Burgess just chilling out somewhere.
He is a Yonkou's top commander who just screwed up his main objective and got no way to leave the Island anytime soon… shouldn't he be kicking somebody's ass right now?
The only person I could see him attacking is Sabo. That'd be a great way to end a chapter.
-
So is next chapter the moment we have all been waiting for, where Manshelly cries on Zoro, healing his eye to reveal his Sharingon? :ninja:

There is no doubt about Burgess, he's gonna face Sabo.
Great power up for the SH. I think that Princess Mansherry will be more helpful than you guys think, sure DF are hax this arc, but that's the hole point. Dofla is providing them to Kaido, he sure must have some great DF for his own purpose.
-
Imagine if it was Oda's intention to have Jora succeed and the officers revived to take on people (like robin and rebecca) to extend this arc even further, lol
Uh-oh…I may have just came up with a filler idea there.I liked the chapter a bit, made up to know Oda remembered Jora and closed that book, now I'm only concerned about Buffalo (I'll accept a cover story arc in future) so let's keep the ball rolling. I know people are displeased about Mansherry's powers but we knew she'd have some mary-sue stuff going on as she was a crying princess and had powers (shirahoshi was similar too...) but I think of it like this. This chapter has closed the save mansherry plot, showed us where a vanished executive has been, explained where more of the KO executives are at and also gave us an update on king Riku and Violets roles so far. I loved how violet was almost like Oracle in batman with her sight and communication usefulness on the den den mushi.
This has been a very big arc with so many characters introduced, plots to tackle and resolve, I'd have exploded to conceive this so god knows how Oda copes.
I'm still banking on me some Robin Vs Trébol action in fantasy. Perhaps Doflamingo calls Diamante and realises he is in need of help as he's has three opponents now at present and our cocky Dofla will just send Trébol into action while he stamps on Law's severed joint and enjoys Bellamy Vs Luffy. Us Robin fans live in hope, even just one chapter even with a little Kyros vs Diamante in the background would be ok. :P

Maybe he left before the birdcage

Too obvious for Toei to do it.
They'll probably pad this chapter and turn it into 2 anime episodes, with the cliffhanger of the first episode being Jora about to heal the other officers.
Throw in a flashback to Jora being defeated by Brook, just because.

The flashback thing just because is something of Naruto anime not One Piece anime.

I am curious to know what Mansherry used to heal people so far if not her tears. Saliva? Vomit? Pee? It reminds me of Nel…
-
Wadatsumi looks so sad :(
-

The One Piece anime adds random flashbacks all the time.
For example, Kuma telling Moriah about Luffy's actions at Enies Lobby certainly did not warrant a full flashback to Luffy defeating Lucci. Or Rebecca randomly flashing back to Kyros training her more times than the flashback appeared in the manga. As long as Toei deems it "somewhat" relevant, or a character mentions it, it's fair game for a padded flashback (hell, they'll even flashback to stuff that happened minutes before sometimes!).

If I had to choose, I would like Luffy to take down a Yonko by himself after he and Law take one down together, to show his growth. Either way, any battle against a Yonko should exceptional.

Yeah, last chapter was awesome. We have Robin being awesome via blocking the superfast Hakuba, while defending herself against multiple attacks, then ending in easily reflecting an executive officer's attack. She kicked ass and did it in style. Really, after that I'm not sure how much more anyone wants. Oh, and all the characters involved in that chapter were great. Cabbage and Bart are fun and I look forward to seeing more of them.
This chapter…not so much. I don't care too much for the dwarves. Jora sucks, and it's even worse since at this point--as a combatant--she's just Brook's leftovers. Of course Leo beats her, cause why not? In shonen when you lose once, it only gets easier the second time. The princess is the only really interesting thing. I like her character design. I wouldn't worry too much after the DF fruit for now. I'm sure it'll be used well. I can't think of another DF fruit in this series that's been abused too much, so why start now.
All in all...I'll wait for the next chapter and chalk this one up as a dud.

Small criticsm
Are you have the same feeling as me, that the DFs introduced in this arc are too focused to trigger the whole story in this arc?
Just look at it
We have the super Law and his legendary DF
We have Pica's fruit moving an whole island to seperate everyone
Viola and her I can see verything fruit
We have Sugar's fruit, which explains itself
Trebol and his sticky fruit to fix all the people
Flashback Corazon and his silence DF
Bartolomeo and his barrier fruit
Now Manshelly and her cure fruitI have nothing against unique powers, but instead of actually being there just for fighting purpose they seemed so forced to tell the plot
That's why I'm not counting DoFla… DoFla is the main villian and I get the birdcage stuff... Same as Crocodile in Arabasta, Enel in Skypia or Moriah in TB. We had DFs connected to the plot but not this much in one arc.
In Arabasta you may count Mr 2 and Mr 3 as well... Same as Blueno in Enies Lobby... But overall?
Call it bitching but it feels so forced... Same as I blame Oda to introduce way too many characters in one arc.
I never had this feeling before...If anything

…It sounds like to me...
…Thank you i am in our debt...
I refuse to further prove aid to you people
Now wonder the enemy wants to keep her
MY GOD!!! that English is more horrible than mine.
-
Surprised that so many people haven't realized that Rebecca is only 1 level above useless. Sure she "knows" how to fight but she doesnt have the requisite instincts, she's way too soft. I definitely do not want to watch Rebecca go 1 vs 1 with anybody.
-
Yeah, drop the fight that's been built up for the entire arc so that Robin can fight Diamante instead for no reason.
Having her move on to fight Trebol, I could understand that, but giving Diamante to her instead of Kyros/Rebecca?
That's just plain silly.
But Trebol is still there. The fight has been forshadowed
-
I was expecting more of Robin's badass entrance. But the rest was cute.
Just wondering who in the family can withstand the Grou Canon. Their thoughness look pretty inconsistent IMO. -
Guessing Manshelly's healing power is like. Saliva/tears… er... other... fluids... potentially? Or maybe she can turn water into like. Give it healing properties?
That's some ATLA/LOK shit right there.
But I love her.
She's a cute little button v u v -
Why do I feel Mansherry is going to be really annoying soon?
I'm suee I dunno, Could it be EVERY DAMN THING ABOUT HER SO FAR? A continuosly crying, uber-kawaii looking
king princess (in a country just FULL of them) and the sudden appwarance of a possible game-breaker DF healing power? One with a squeaky voice and a crush on the oblivious Leo? What the hell could there be not to like? Not that I'm trying to hate her too fast, she may be perfectly lovely and will settle down when she gets some personal panel time
-
i want to see robin's fight i don't give a fuck about these midgets
-
Small criticsm
Are you have the same feeling as me, that the DFs introduced in this arc are too focused to trigger the whole story in this arc?
Well, I'm okay with most of these powers. However, there's of course…
We have Sugar's fruit, which explains itself
Sugar gives me exactly this vibe. I really hate how she basically was a living self-destruct button for Flamingo's long-time empire build all over the years.
Besides, she's basically unusable in a proper 1 vs. 1 fight given that she's a close quarter combatant. (unless she'd get more limitations, of course.) Whereas I liked how Usopp got his haki, Sugar's role in that fight was… not that awesome.
-
Giolla? Zamasu? Translations are bad this week.
-
I'm pretty sure Stephen uses Giolla too.
-
What the hell is a Zamasu?
-
It's what she says after each sentence, like Machvise's -in or Neptune's -jamon. You can check it out in the anime.
-
Wow, this thread.
I thought it was an okay chapter, but the complaints here are kinda… yeah. So, here are my points:
1. We knew Manshelly had to have something special about her, we knew it for a while now, too. What's the problem?
2. Why the screams of "broken"? We don't know how her powers work! We barely got an explanation.
3. I'm kind of disappointed she didn't end up with a slightly spoiled personality, but I guessed it also might be the case when she was first shown. This isn't out of nowhere either. We also only saw very little of her personality here. Like, Haijurdin and Bellamy were kind of meh to me, but they ended up having some fine depth. Too early to judge?
4. Why can't Rebecca eventually still prove herself?
5. Why can't Robin move forward to Trebol? She had an encounter with him. People keep mentioning Cavendish, but he already had his limelight. That's why he's done, not because he's sleeping. This is a very common thing with One Piece.
6. This plot point had to be covered eventually. I'd rather have it covered than forgotten. Conclusion: I'm so happy the fans don't write the story. As annoying has some things can be, I'm really happy for that. Also, people love their assumptions before anything happens. A lot. I do agree that it was kinda just a "get it out of the way" chapter, rather than all the personality that was poured into the executive fights, the whole lead-up part to the fights was kind of like this, too, but I'm okay with it. I didn't think it needed more or less attention.
-
I'm betting the whole arc's fight will end with Sugar transforming Doflamingo into a toy (not willingly, probably because of Law' switching ability), and everyone forgetting the reason why they are even fighting. ^^
-
Where the hell did this "Zamasu" thing come from? I'm pretty sure she's never had that quirk before. This is the first she does it.
Oda's just throwing random words into sentences now; he don't care.
-
I believe Jora already had that quirk since the begining.
-
No it didn't I recall exactly that she had something like this as her speech quirk before.
Also, about Law possibly taking on Trebol as well, I don't think he'll be able to heal his arm right away; in addition remember in the flashback - "an helping hand will reach out for you"? It's the point that I think he will be taken out by Dofla. I also think that the healing powers are limited to just wounds, rather than illnesses or giving limbs back or even revival of the dead; along with Leo's help Law could get his arm back and I'm totally alright with it because it's not out of nowhere. Since somebody also brought that up, I think Chopper's achievements might get more weight because they're not with the help of DFs, too.
