Chapter 770: Elbaf's Spear

Do you really want the smug-o-meter to explode into a gajillion pieces?
lol I always find his smugness as a funny remark, Zoro is an idiot most of the time, almost Luffy's level idiocy. Just look at the idiot wanting to go fishing fishing at such a crucial time with his mentally-challenged sense of directions :)
-
Sorry Razh, I answered a direct question about the name of a character, and took pains to not reveal any crucial information.
Gosh how you guys remember those names, I only remember 'All Mighty' then everything else is just faces on my brain and names I came up with for each hero.

Even at that, you incorrectly remembered All Might's name as well:ninja:

is there a release this week?
Yeah, but i heard that the chapter might be late due to scanlator related reasons since it is holiday time for them too.

is there a release this week?
Yes. It's the last one before the usual New Years madness with Jump.

Robin is so annoying sometimes. She should've at least told them some stuff about the Revos and Dragon, not to mention SABO! or KUMA!! Kuma might still have yet another secret mission programmed into him, so I may overlook that, but anything else she's holding away too much info from the crew. It's not like they'll go around telling stuff only-they know to everybody they meet. -
thanks for your answers..

Characters always keep things to themselves until the right time comes in OP. It's something I got used to, but I consider it among weaker points of the manga.
Of course, sometimes it's done for a legitimate reason, like Robin did before. And maybe she has a reason to withhold some information too, but it just seems awful repetitive. Other SH are keeping mostly silent about their 2 years of time skip too, but Robin is the worst example, because she spent a good amount of time in the organization led by her captain's father. And while keeping quiet about Sabo would make sense if he wanted to tell Luffy he was alive himself, keeping quiet about everything else makes no sense.
Of course, SH are probably talking about stuff off screen, but if they talked about anything important from that time period it would sure as hell been shown. Or we'd get treated with a scene where SH, for example, knew about Luffy's new gear or Robin's Fishman Karate (fingers crossed King Cannon ) all along. Hope the latter doesn't happen. -

It's been pretty much go go go with the crew post-timeskip.
Anytime they have been given a chance to sit down there's all been more pressing issues to discuss.
-
You do know that the moment Oda let Robin speak we will learn a chunk of information all at once, right.
Yeah, in Raftle after reading/completing the Rio-thing she'll tell them all the history in one go without mentioning anything beforehand. I hope we live long enough to see it.
ps: I don't think any member of crew even knows what a poneglyph is! they wouldn't even be able to recognize it if they've seen one. You know why? because Robin never told them. Even Luffy who was there in Arabasta had probably long forgotten about it. -

Also in Ennies Lobby arc Spandam didn't stopped talking about she being a cursed woman for being able to read the Poneglyth.Well, Robin is the kind of person that didn't even said to them that the Skypiea Gold Pillar was an offering, and that found an island while traveling in the sea and didn't say nothing to anybody until someone asked if it would take much to find one.
Her character was made like that on purpose. -

Yeah, they've been jumping from one situation to another and it's fine if they don't have time to relax and catch up, but Oda is the one that sets the pacing. Maybe it would have been better if SH had at least one peacful day in NW, before being surrounded with marine battleships. So we get to hear if Zoro travelled with Perona alone or was Moria with them too, what the deal with that scar is, if Sanji defeated Ivankov, what did Franky discover in Vegapunk's lab, did Robin have a chat with Dragon, did she find out anything at all that would be important for their trip, did she see any more Poneglyphs…
Or maybe this route was the better one, it's not that big of an issue. I just hope we don't get fake suspense situations. You know, some angry dangerous pirate appears and just when it looks like he's going to shoot at Sunny and sink it, it turns out it's a big fan of Brook's who attented several of his concerts. It's a shitty example, but I know you guys know what I mean.
I know everything will be revealed at due time, but sometimes I wish things weren't being held out on us. We've been following SH for 3 arcs now and they've spent most of their pirating career off screen. There's a big chunk of their personality missing. Maybe Zoro would be more likeable if we knew what kind of hells he went through during Mihawk's training. Maybe Sanji's nosebleed would be more acceptable if we saw a little bit more of his hunt for recipes and all the hells he had to go through to get them. Or maybe Robin's silence would make more sense if we got a glimpse of what she saw during her time with Revs. It probably wasn't too pretty.
I'd compare this with how retarded Ace looked when he stayed behind to get killed, before the flashback made it more acceptable.
In short, boring day at work.

Rob's hit it correct here. I hear people yelling "Robin's not told them anything! How dare her!"
Well, remember while its been years for us readers since the reunion, in-story? It's only been 3 days. That is correct, Robin has been back with the crew for only three days! And every day the SHs has had a big fight.
Day One= Reunion at SA, travel and arrival at FI and fight with Hody, party with royal family.
Day Two= Encounter with Pekoms & Tomago, left FI, arrive at PH, battle with CC, alliance with Law, capture CC and deliver ultimatum to Doffy.
Day Three= Morning starts with Doffy's (fake) agreement to Law's demands, arrival at Dressrosa, and everything up to now happens on this day.
So RobZilla is right, really SHs have been go, go, go! since leaving SA.

I get what you mean, but really we've so far had only 1 complete arc in the New World which bled directly into the one we're currently on.
We'll get some answers after Dressrosa I imagine.

The point is moot, since Oda is the one who writes the story and chooses how much time SH spend doing this and that.
However, there was plenty of time to talk about stuff, when you remember SH had 2 big parties, one on FI and one on PH.
So yeah, it depends on what the author wants to show and withhold.
-
My assumption is Robin has a good reason for withholding any information she doesn't share. I don't see any reason to assume she is being obtuse or disloyal to the group by not sharing.
Also, Dragon seems very secretive and probably runs a tight ship. I imagine he wants to meet the Straw Hats and assess them before allowing too much information to be released to them. The assumption that Sabo asked Robin to not say anything seems reasonable as well.
There's also the fact that Robin doesn't say certain things because Oda apparently doesn't want that knowledge in the story yet. Robin is under a strict no spoilers clause.
-
^^That and also this was the perfect time for her to spill the beans.

It's the page where she says Kuma's name after hearing Franky describe his efforts to help the crew.

Thanks.
Regarding Kuma, I would again assume Dragon wants that information classified as need to know for now… or until Oda wants it known. Dragon is Oda confirmed.
-
and beside that, i can't se luffy caring less about all that robin saw
-
If you think about it you'll notice that there isn't dialogue between crew members. The only one able to speak to the entire crew was Franky after the timeskip. Franky has matured a lot in these 2 year.

The fact that we don't know what they have done or been up to for 3-4 years since the time skip happened is shocking to me personally.
-
It hasn't even been a week since they got back together.
-
The fact that we don't know what they have done or been up to for 3-4 years since the time skip happened is shocking to me personally.
Uh, we do.
Luffy trained Haki with Rayleigh, Zoro with Mihawk, Sanji fought 99 Okama Kenpo Masters, Nami researched weather books and tools, Usopp learned to use and collect Pop Greens and lost his fat, Chopper researched medicine, Franky reconstructed himself following Vegapunk's work, Brook went into a world tour.
Except for Robin, everything they did in those 2 years was explained before the timeskip itself.
-
Robin was with Dragon, Sabo, Hack and Koala?

Luffy knows a lot about Zoros 2 years of training. Oda even gave that some panel for start of Zoro telling Luffy his story and after just start it was cut off. I think that Oda will show us training glimpses when Strawhats will go all out and show off their strongest/ new moves.
To some people complaining at Robin not sharing info etc its very early in New World. Lets just wait patiently and enjoy the ride.
Btw I am finishing up Blade of The Immortal that I started when OP had last break and just WOW what a Great Manga. If somebody didnt checked that Seinen then you should, for my taste its really absolutely great manga in all departments.

This right here! Robin is pretty much a time bomb and If Oda allows her to say something she will most likely spill so much knowledge that we won't be able to handle it all, so we just have to wait and see what happens next. I'm 70% sure that she'll have a talk with Mingo and Trebol before everything is set and done.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---

This too! It has been shown throughout the serie that Luffy does not give a shit about the past, he lives by the minute, so If it doesn't happened in the present time, he will not care one bit.
-
Robin was with Dragon, Sabo, Hack and Koala?
We know Dragon wanted to meet her and we also know that she spent some time with Koala per Koala's reaction to Robin. We don't know for sure that she met Sabo, but it is heavily implied since she knows Koala.

It's clear that Pica's punch >> Bellani's.
Luffy coughed blood, while Zoro tanked the punch without any damage. You keep using that word. I don't think it means what you think it means.

Were there panels shown where he was clearly floating? I think making his shield lighter doesn't enable him to float. Maybe the panels where he is shown to "float" are just an extra amount of hang time and nothing else. I guess there's no choice but to wait for an SBS regarding his DF.
Well even kilo kilo no mi user used umbrella to float.. I think shield plays role but sure thing we need some kind of clarification on it from Oda. Maybe next chapter we will get something like line or two from some character
I don't think Machvise can actually float up in the air. He can glide through it using the momentum from his own propulsion from the power of his legs but he can't fly/float. It would be impossible for him to because he's manipulating the weight of the object not himself.
Miss Valentine made herself lighter to the point she could be swept away by the slightest breeze
-

She used her umbrella to slow her descent, not float. Remember that the lowest weight she could go was 1kg, which is not enough to keep something floating by itself in the air.
If Machvise follows the same logic, he couldn't go under 1 ton (or 10 ton, which would be Ms. Valentine's max limit and it is the lowest weight Machvise has shown so far).

So now that a giant won a fight, perhaps we can finally have a vice admiral winning a fight that isn't named Garp.:ninja:

Franky said that M floats, so 1 ton guy floating?

1. Machvise frequently goes "Ton Ton".
2. Machvise is described as a "Super Weight Human".
3. All his moves so far were based on tons. -

We dont know if he controls weights of objects or his body(I bet on objects) so Oda should clarify on this DF.
As for ton ton we cant be sure if he cant go under 1 ton, If it would be just bigger version of kilo kilo and that would be lame move imo from Oda, making objects weighty would be much more interesting and would give more options when it comes to explanation on Ms floating. -
He can float, if his weight is 0 ton :ninja:
