kureha is still alive,so it's definitely not her
I think he/she meant she was the one the ability was used on.

Crazy theory time! Former Ope ope doc used his ability on Blackbeard before he died. 2 fruits, damage tanking. :ninja:
I wouldn't rule that out, the hint has been thrown so who knows If that's why the guy is weird as fusk
That Castle on page 3 is definetly Lvneel Castle. Looks exactly like the Castle Noland has visited to inform the king of Shandora.
Great catch ! amazing, amazing how Oda always connects the dots.
Great chapter.
And omg, a kid with number 10 in his back is climbing Jinbe's coat.
A hint for the 10th member!? Haha.
You know what's even weirder…the humans aren't reacting with any sort of rejection for Jinbe. They're just talking to him like normal. Pretty cool progression of racial politics.
I wouldn't rule that out, the hint has been thrown so who knows If that's why the guy is weird as fusk
I don't know about that. Just remembered Magellan.
It seemed he would have been toast if not for Shillew and antidote.
I was expecting you guys to have found Diez Barrels in some panel around chapter 200-300 or some random cover but the connection between him and Drake makes a lot of sense.
Any speculations about Cora-san and the Revolutionary Army?

Doesn't seem like there's going to be any connection. Making him a triple agent at this point would be a little too much, I think.
Also, tried to look for Diaz Barrels in the Z movie spread, but my initial search didn't find anyone with a chin like that. Maybe someone would like to try their luck with it?

I also think there is at least one immortal person in the One Piece world otherwise they wouldn't know about the extent of this power,
the DFs are far beyond every power or invention in their world only comparable to the ancient weapons and I think both are the products of the D Clan kingdom which was destroyed by the world government because of their advance technology.
the world government fears it so much that they would destroy whole islands to keep their existence a secret or at least a legend.
I have two ideas who the imortal one could be
1. The head figure behind the world government the one who united the 20 nations against the D kingdom and formed the Gorusei as his direct subordinates.
He could be a D member and betrayer or just someone who gained this power by force or accident.
2. It could be the creater of the DFs himself only survivor of the fallen kingdom waiting for someone out of his lineage to defeat the world government (Roger maybe meet him, Dragon could fight for him and Ruffy may be the one he is waiting for)
I don't know about that. Just remembered Magellan.

That's the thing immortality is eternal life, it doesn't say that an immortal can't be killed.
Maybe Roci plans to eat the fruit, sacrificing himself to cure Law as much as possible while ensuring he will get the new Ope Ope.
Maybe Dofla's gonba stand around, let him die from his wounds, maybe kill him himself.
Cora-san stated that he intends Law to eat the fruit, besides, eating two fruits is lethal and we know Cora-san was killed by Doflamingo.
Great chapter.

Nice catch! And yes, this is what it means.

It depends on Oda's concept. Dofla talked as if he needed the immortality to obtain the national treasure. Don't see how longevity alone would allow him to do that.
Maybe the person just becomes harder to kill. Regenerates fast, becomes immune to diseases, poison, radiation… I hope we at least find out a little bit more about the treasure this arc. Oda needs to start revealing some things, even if slowly.
Doesn't seem like there's going to be any connection. Making him a triple agent at this point would be a little too much, I think.
Then why is Rosi still stating he isn't a Marine even tho we found him on the film Z cover and the obvious cooperation with the Navy? I agree the triple agent would be too much, btw.
You know what's even weirder…the humans aren't reacting with any sort of rejection for Jinbe. They're just talking to him like normal. Pretty cool progression of racial politics.
Well…When you've just lost everything after a bunch of angered sea kings trashed your hometown, a fishman is comparatively as normal as they get. No big surprise there :p
@Kyoji:

Maybe he just means he's not a true marine. He might have been employed just because of his connection to Dofla, for that specific mission, and given a rank for practical purposes.
Or he's simply lying because he's grown attached to the kid and don't want to risk losing him.

Dofla was actually talking about how Law's ability to switch personalities could have allowed him to gain control over that national treasure. Then he added the bit about the fruit also having the ability to turn someone inmortal.

Because Law dislikes the Marines.
Isn't that obvious?

He has a registry profile and an official rank, so for all intents and purposes he is a Marine regardless of motives.
Ranks wouldn't work for practical purposes. He could work undercover with any rank.
In fact, if he joined the Marines only to work undercover, it wouldn't make sense to even have his registry or give him a rank.
Dofla was actually talking about how Law's ability to switch personalities could have allowed him to gain control over that national treasure. Then he added the bit about the fruit also having the ability to turn someone inmortal.
If that's true, why does Corazon think Dofla is going to make him sacrifice himself when he eats Ope ope? Switching personalities doesn't make a user die, as we've seen on PH. I really doubt personality switch is the key. And if it is, why does Dofla even mention immortality thing when talking to Law? It's pointless if it doesn't serve a purpose in the plot.
Great chapter! That silent fruit is extremely useful for surprise attacks, but I am interested in knowing if oda will put it to use in battle, or show how good of a fighter Rosi is.
You know what's even weirder…the humans aren't reacting with any sort of rejection for Jinbe. They're just talking to him like normal. Pretty cool progression of racial politics.
Different culture, different values. Tom never faced any prejudices in Water 7 aside from Spandam's remark.

Yeah, it's good for surprise attacks as long as the one you're surprising doesn't have observation haki.

Like I said, maybe he doesn't consider himself a marine. Well, that one is a given, unless he's lying to Law, which I doubt.
And there's a possibility he can have access to certain tools only as a marine. Like if he needs to call the nearest marine base or ship for help. He gives them his serial number or something, they check with HQ. Turns out it checks out and it's actually Commander Rocinante.
Sure, it could work without the rank, I suppose, but maybe Marines are stuck in the trap of bureaucracy just like the real world institutions.
I don't know.

Oda has revealed a few thing this arc man and he will probably keep on doing so now more then ever.
Oh
BTW
It's X Drake's birthday today in Japan (they are ahead, 10/24)

Holy shit .
What kind of sorcery…
It's like he's beating us in the head with hints.
didn´t drake get like 3 birthdays? was it decided already that the 24th was the official one?

Two. Blue book listed 10/10, but volume 64 corrected it to 10/24
Ty Aohige for explaining about the Drake-Doreeku stuff. Now it's more clear why Dory can be Drake

And yesterday in Japan (i.e. today in the west) it is/was Doflamingo's birthday, isn't/wasn't it?
And it was Law's birthday a few weeks ago, too.
if rocy really is a marine, how did he enlist and work as one without doffy knowing? did they live seperately at some point?im going to be sad when he dies.
If X is 10 then D is 500, find a language that has a d-word for 500 then go theory crazy, if, you know, this whole X(Diaz) Drake thing has been an over-looked hint this whole time…
.

There was probably a period of time when the Doflamingo and Roci separated and that's when Doflamingo met Vergo and why he was the Corazon before Roci.
That's been my guess.
Awesome chapter… Love Corazon even more.
But one question, cuz I missed a lot... Is the the shitty manga mentioning the previous Ope Ope no Mi User... a doctor? Or is it it just a fucked up translation.
what iiiifffff roccy isnt actually dead and hes in witness protection. but of course his clumsyness would out him xD
now i know why law called his pirates the heart pirates….corrazzon means heart in spanish and the ope ope fruit looks like a heart...:ninja
damn.....the The Chapter was awesome....
Rocinante is gonna die by the end of this flashback, abyssal.
I agree, but haki in general is rare in the four blues, and the first half of the Grand line. Even then it would depend on how strong it was.

Is Bad translation, in another good translation he is talking of doctors through the ages that got the Ope Ope no Mi and were able to find and cure a lot of diseases, not the specific last user.

That's a hilarious thought^
There was always a possibility he's a spy for marines, like Corazon. Interesting paralels in this flashback, don't you think?
His dad's background might have been used as a convincing argument to any pirate who doubted a former marine. Like father like son.
This just reminded me of the conversation between Kizaru and Drake back on SA. Kizaru said something o the effect of Drake eleft the Marines and turned pirate because he was curious about the other side.
But if this is Drake, he would already know what tis like to be a pirate!
So making him a spy sort of makes sense.
Maybe there's an immortal walking around in One Piece.
Crazy theory time! Former Ope ope doc used his ability on Blackbeard before he died. 2 fruits, damage tanking. :ninja:
Maybe two immortals. After all we've not seen any human (giants don't count here, different life spans) that's reached 100 (we know that Whitebeard was 71(72?)) much less someone reaching over that.
But we have Kureha that's 141 and still has the body many women would die for (body not face )
Add to that she's the only one (Chopper doesn't count since he's a reindeer) going around the Sakura Kingdom without bundling up for the bitter winter cold. Heck even the ox DF used Dalton bundles up!
…. and she's always asking if someone wants to know the secret of her youth! But its never been answered.
We've always thought its a gag of Kureha's ... but what if it was a foreshadowing :ninja:

Realize this is probably a joke, but we do find out the secret to her youth. SBS Volume 18. The secret to her youth is…
! Be happy! Dr. Kureha is probably going to be around for a long time

[hide] " Dr. Kureha is probably going to be around for a long time"?
XD that will only fuel the speculation that she's immortal! XD
…
Seriously I forgotten that SBS. But it does support the idea she's immortal!
Now that's hilarious, I make a joke but there's the possibility (just that, nothing more) it may become truth? XD [/hide]
Happiness. That's the secret to her youth. It's because she's happy she'll be around for a long time.
Aw Roci. All his falling was precious until it got him into so much trouble…
Absolutely loving the dynamic he has with Law. He's the big brother that Doffy should have been and that I think Law wanted to be for Lamie, and that just hits me right in the best/worst places.
