Finally, the remakes of Ruby and Sapphire have been announced. Can't wait for it. Just like Y and Y they'll have the same release date worldwide.
Pokémon ORAS and Spinoffs: We Go!

Woooot.
Hopefully the games get some mega tweaks.
I guess I'll probably be getting the water one again.
-
Aight, there's my Kyogre. Got Ruby last time, was convinced it was the better of the two, and now think it's time to change.
Although, it would really be cooler to own both originals and remakes. Silver-SoulSilver and Ruby-OmegaRuby.
-
I had Ruby, and now i will have the Omega Ruby.
-
I wasn't a fan of Ruby/Saphire, so let's see. Depending on the additions, I might end up buying one of those (Saphire, since Kyogre is one of the few uber legendaries I like).
And although I am a mega hater, here I am already hoping for my Mega Butterfree, Mega Beedrill, Mega Donphan, Mega Lanturn, Mega…
At least I think Mega Sceptile and Mega Swampert are a given, I can't see Gamefreak releasing a game with only one of the three starters having an extra evo. -
Not really a "new adventure" when it's a remake.
-
So they've finally done it, eh? Cool.
Gotta go with Ruby again. One file off my GBA cartidge (which I still have) was super lucky: Pokerus and three caught shinies.
-
Not really looking forward to the gen that made me lose all interest in Pokemon for years till Black, but maybe it could be redeemed.
-
Finally, it's confirmed! Kinda torn on which one to get, my Ruby was stolen and my Sapphire won't read anymore. Hopefully they will have the battle frontier from Emerald represented, I loved that place.

Not everyone is going to buy the remakes, and people who did couldn't import the new Megas over to X/Y because they're simply not in the game.
Unless they patch X and Y to include them, but I have no idea whether that's possible or not with the current technology.
-
New new new NEW NEW?
If you were born after 2003, I guess.Whatever. Still pumped. Maybe they can fix some of the annoyingness of waterworld. Fun pokes in gen 3, but the game was ehh.
-
Interestingly enough, I feel like I've done playthroughs of Ruby (and Emerald) the most of any generation, and that made me get sick of the games for a while.
Part of me wants to reconstruct my favorite team, while part of me wants to start fresh.

What about Mega Latios/Latias? I think they were confirmed to be in the X/Y code by hackers but I don't think they were officially confirmed. Helps that they were from this gen too.

Hmm, yeah, maybe. If there are unreleased Mega Evolutions, they'll obviously come out now. With Blaziken already having its Mega, I wouldn't be that surprised to see Sceptile and Swampert also getting theirs. But any more than what we already know of and know to expect is most likely not going to show up.
-
The new forms of Kyogre and Groudon look really badass. Because I played Sapphire as a kid it's obvious that Alpha Sapphire will be my choice.
-
Da da DAAAAAA!
-
Hurrah! I loved the original games, definitely looking forward to these.
-
Here we go again.
I approve of the worldwide release concept. A smart move by the company and at the same time beneficial to the players. Oh and I'll be going with the fish of course.
-

Well, there are two unrevealed Mega coded in X/Y, that could be a terrible indication that they are the only ones we'll get in OR/AS.
I hope it doesn't work that way 'cause I think it would suck to have a Mega Blaziken but not Mega Sceptile/Swampert. It would ruin the supposed balance among starters.
Out of curiosity, how does forms work with the previous games? Like, Kyurem's fusion, were they coded into B/W already?
-
With the 3DS software, it does not seem to all that of an issue to add data to a game's code via patch :T
-
-
Well, i'll wait for the patch that make BOTH GAMES NOT SUCK.
(yeah, i'm gonna have a field trip with this).
-
I'm so fucking hyped and fangasming so hard I've just been staring at the announcement with teary eyes since I found out.
-
They fixed a bug in X and Y so I see no problems patching.
-

Yeah, this is what I'm wondering about.
There have already been two patches for X/Y, but I was under the impression that they mainly just fixed some bugs in the coding and prepared the games for full Pokébank functionality by enabling something that was previously left disabled, not adding new content per se. Not sure how feasible that is when most of the data is still on the cartridge itself. If there's space to add in more stuff, then absolutely, but if it's hard-coded to include only what has been stored there before it's locked, we're probably not going to see new content.
-
I'm curious to find out what made Ruby and Sapphire "suck" for so much people, when they were actually solid entries.
Yeah, the time function was taken out (which'll most likely return here) and there was ALOT of water paths…. and there were also the first games where you couldn't transfer your old 'Mons and had to start from scatch. But other than that, they were good games.
I think people are confusing their lost of interest with the Pokemon fad seemingly dying down by the point of the original games releases. Because the actual games are really no different from all the other ones.
-
It looks like the games will have red/blue packaging. -
Now where's my Colosseum and XD remake.
-
If these were going to be plain old remakes, they wouldn't focus on "NEW ADVENTURE" in the reveal. I think that they are going to go the route of B2W2. How did they word the reveal of those?
I promised myself to not get any more games after Smash this year.
-
I want the old Battle Frontier back, I want Feebas not to be an absolute bitch to find, I want Mega Kyogre, and I want a secret battle with Miror B.
-
Funnily enough I really didn't like Pokemon Silver and Gold as a kid but loved Pokemon Ruby, maybe it was because it had a run button. I have fond memories of pokemon Ruby, like breeding my army of Milotec, and Ninetails. Also my surprise when the little steel pokemon Aron that I just captured because I was running out of pokemon whilst in a cave eventually grew into the beast that is Aggron. My nostalgia boner is strong with this one so I'm actually looking forward to this quite a lot I hope they add a bunch of cool stuff.

I agree with the Feebas part and who's Miror B?

It would be impossible for me to point out what I didn't like because I barely remember anything from it. I remember a tower where Rayquaza was, I remember searching on shallow waters for the stone to evolve Lombre, I remember hating dive.
If there really was as much surfing as people say, that could be a reason since I hate it as much as possible. If I remember correctly, only a very few old pokémon were available in the games and that could also be a problem since back in that time I wanted to use my favorites (unlike now, when I prefer to keep my team with only pokemon from the game's generation).
Also the ammount of interesting Bug types seem to be directly related to how much I like a pokémon game and I can't say I like 3rd gen additions. That aside, I liked some gen 3 pokémon and I liked Kyogre and Rayquaza (I usually hate uber legendaries, so liking 2 from a same generation is like a miracle), so I guess it was not that bad even back in the time.
-
I agree with the Feebas part and who's Miror B?
-
Gamefreak, you guys are too late on this April Fools joke
-
mirror B with Mega Ludicolo, please gamefreak
-
I didn't mind the region itself but I wasn't a fan of any of the Pokemon for the gen except the legendary pokemon, Treeko, and Mudkip. as long as we aren't limited to mostly gen 3 pokemon (which I strongly doubt) I will be satisfied I mean either way I will be getting it
I also really hope they put secret bases back in that was my favorite thing about gen 3 closest thing we have had since then is that resort house
-

That plus the broken Exp. All would make it extremely easy to level. But I wouldn't count on it. I'll be satisfied as long as we get a Trick Mansion
-
Mega Ludicolo will be normal Ludicolo hooked on X or Cocaine. Dance all night baby!
-
After all the little hints and teases they gave us on X and Y, I knew they were going to have to make that remake xD I'm liking the new looks so far, I hope player customisation gets even more upgraded!
-

I agree the fact they used "new adventure" and "explore a dramatic new world" (though that could just refer to graphics) definitely implying strong changes.
Oh and I hope Steven is the champion again
-
After X/Y, I have reason to believe every Pokemon game is going to be at least as gigantic as the one before it
-
I hope we can use the space center in Mossdeep to go to the moon or something to get deoxys.
-
Good news. This time, I'll probably get a digital version.
I don't remember much about the originals so even in the case it's just a remake, it would be like a new adventure to me.
Hoping for new Mega-evos if possible. -
Yeah I think it's gonna be a BW2 type deal, buuuuuuut so much hype anyway :DDD I'll be getting Omega Ruby, like I got Ruby back in the day… Really looking forward to hear more about this!
-
Hold me damnit, I can't believe it really happened.
But hey, don't Groudon and Kyogre look different in those boxes, design wise?
-

Yeah they look a little different, I don't think they're megas, but definitely something off
-
I'm only dissapointed that this is coming out so soon after Dragon Age 3.
Still a day 1 purchase, but…
Mightyena, Cacturne and Absol, here I come!
-
Awesome, Hoenn as a region should lend itself really well to a 3D makeover. Improve the Pokemon selection a bit, maybe make some shortcuts in traversing the sea, throw in night-and-day, and I'm ready for my Wingulls and trumpets.
-
I Just want to point out that the idea of ddingmegas that aren't in the mainline games of the gen isn't exactly unprecedented. While not megas, there have been a few forms that weren't coded into the first games of a gen. I'm pretty sure giratina origin form wasn't in the code of DP, and same with the two alternate kyurems in Black and White. The only complicating issue is that they don't change during battle. But this could be solved somewhat by playing the mega evolution animation and then not changing in appearance. And of course, just patching in a few extra models could solve even that
