In the bottom left panel of page 8 we can see that Sano has a rather large scar on his face through the helmet opening.
Chapter 737: "The Executive Tower"
-
-
I don't think it's from Colliseum. It's not like you can't take your own weapons in there. Think about Durandal. Or Ideo's exploding knuckles. Those came from outside.
Burgess' and Boo's have a similar design but Boo wasn't shown firing off impacts from his elbow. Anyway, since Burgess casually did something that took that Elizabello hours to prepare for and since there was smoke coming out of those holes, for now I'll assume that armguard was a contraption that can fire shockwaves or whatever that was. Looked to me like Sabo went in with the intent of breaking it. Might be even based on dials or something similar. We know Skypiea isn't the only sky island and gof knows how many weird things like that can be found on NW islands. Or it's just mechanical.
I suppose there's still a chance it was pure strength, but I doubt that. We'll have to see if he can do that kind of destruction without the armguard.
-
Man..he crushed his armor not his arm.
-
Oda created a better version of me. (nickname) xD
-
I still don't really get this.
They want to render Sugar unconscious so that not only will the toys revert back to people, but the people will then be remembered.
Does Sugar not sleep or something? Has she been not only a child, but constantly awake for all this time?
-
I'm also confused with Sugar. Does she have to be "shocked" in order for her df to be cancelled? I thought just knocking someone out would do that, didn't that happen with the art lady? (I forgot her name) Why is her df different from all the others?
-

Man..he crushed his armor not his arm.
Who said that?
I still don't really get this.
They want to render Sugar unconscious so that not only will the toys revert back to people, but the people will then be remembered.
Does Sugar not sleep or something? Has she been not only a child, but constantly awake for all this time?
Might be a side effect of that ability. In turn for keepeing people as toys constantly, she doesn't age, nor can she sleep. Don't really have a better explanation.
-
Burgess got his armor shattered easily was disappointed from somebody who is with a Yonkou crew. Sabo took his redeeming chance.
BB became a Yonkou b/c he knew well about WB territory and took over with those two hax df. That doesn't mean all his crew member is super strong.
-
I'm also confused with Sugar. Does she have to be "shocked" in order for her df to be cancelled? I thought just knocking someone out would do that, didn't that happen with the art lady? (I forgot her name) Why is her df different from all the others?
Jora.
Sugar's DF is seemingly pretty unique, and is most likely tied into why humans and toys can't live together/the toys have a curfew.
Seems that we've finally been given confirmation that even the Donquixote crew aren't protected from the memory wiping effects of Sugar's abilities.
Doffy is really going to regret it when those toys turn back.
-

You don't lose consciousness when you sleep.
Or else, nobody would ever be able to wake up a sleeping person.
-
he had to fight off 3 other yonkos, so my assumption is, yes, they are pretty strong.
He could have used his knowledge of WB's territories to evade the yonko, as well as to conquer said territories.
I doubt Teach actually fought any of the main yonko crews in the past 2 years, except for maybe the former WB pirates.
-
i think all of doflamingo underlings has devil fruit ability
-
I mean i don't know either languages, and maybe the word for beard/mustasch and bird are similar.
But how does a One Piece translator not know who Blackbeard is
Don't know if it was already adressed but Blackbeard in Japanese is "Kurohige". They don't call him by his English name. So yeah, MP are a bunch of dumbasses.
-
You don't lose consciousness when you sleep.
Or else, nobody would ever be able to wake up a sleeping person.
It's a matter of view. And there are some conflicting ones. And yes, you can awake someone from losing consciousness. Well, they managed to do it to me, anyway. Don't really think I'm special in that way.
-
That Fighting Fish is flying for a very long time, no?
-
So yeah, MP are a bunch of dumbasses.
Possibly, but they're also obviously not native speakers of English (beard->bird is obvious and stupid to us [and to those non-native speakers here who are super great at English], but the mistake didn't even catch any of their eyes during their presumably non-existent editing process, because hey, it's pretty close phonetically), which makes doing even an amateur translation into English very difficult.

I think sleeping doesn't count, she needs to get knocked out forcibly. Shiki's power worked the same way, even if it's not canon. Once he was beaten by Luffy, all the islands of Merveille fell!

LOL at Rebecca hide behind Barto as shield.
-
Super chapter! Really gets me pumped for the next one. So tidbits:
-So Pica's power is pretty much like Kid's, except he attracts rocks. As logias tend to just generate matter, it is looking so paramecia to me. Viola's worry about them never reaching Doflamingo if Pica sees them first is justified, as Pica can just easily trap them within a maze by manipulating the castle walls if crushing them won't work. It seems like the trio will beat Pica together, since the staple 1-v-1 match-ups is almost getting avoided in this arc.
-It is exciting that Burgess can just throw those King Punch class elbows on a whim. And it definitely gets better as Sabo stopped it by one hand! Bartolomeo crying once again is just pure awesome. Rebecca can carry her own against the fishies, but she is just really hanging in there and playing it safe. Diamante feels underwhelming right now, but he definitely has something up his sleeves as Doflamingo trust him a lot to be able to beat anyone in the Colosseum. Even with that, I still think that this is gonna be reduced to 1-v-1 between Sabo and Burgess.
-Not only did we learn Pica's fruit, we also learned Trebol, but its still too ambiguous to categorize whether logia or paramecia. The fact that the tatababasco grape plan sounds really easy and the constant reminder that if Sugar is knocked out every toy is gonna be free sounds so ideal, brings uneasiness that this SOP will fail, big time! Well, Toy Soldier has his own will, I wonder when will other toys gain theirs. And where's Chinjao? Is it possible that he's left out on purpose since Haoshoku haki can potentially knock out Sugar? Also, Sugar is most probably not a helpless little girl.
-

Yeah, I think so too.
It's probably been mentioned already (sorry, can't be arsed to read the whole thread) but Zoro's line "So he's not just a Stone Man" is pretty much hitting us over the head with "this guy =/= logia." It's a slightly more nuanced power than that. -
So a rock logia or Paracemia. He will be quite problematic to deal with since he can use the whole palace. Zoro should cut lsuper fast if he doesn't want to get crashed but Luffy should manage as blunt attack has no effect(except if Pica use haki)
So did the fish avoid Champion's attack or not? Sabo is doing good anyway.
Sugar power sure is way too powerful. a simple touche and you not only make him become a toy but can force him to do what you want. Sadly Cavendish is already transformed and sent away while Robin and ussop are at the door. He probably won't get to do anything for the rest of the arc.
I really can't feel anything but a feeling contempt for Ussop. Planning to run away if things go bad?
-

You weren't actually unconscious then.
If you are unable to respond to any outside stimuli, then you are truly unconscious.
-
I'm confused. How does Soldiersan fight while the others cannot even resist?

Hakuba is probably not bound by the contract as he is a separate mind.
-
Good chapter overall, lots of content. Disliking the jumping of storyline more and more at every chapter after Sabo's reveal.
-
Did Rebecca seriously got throw by a mere fish?
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Hakuba is probably not bound by the contract as he is a separate mind.
But he just got sent away while Ussop and Robin are already in the middle of the SOP operation.

God bless ODA! Amazing Chapter.. had pleasure reading and checking every detail of it..
Cover is amazing! :D After defeatin' all the baboons, Zoro also challenged their best alcohol-drinker lol!
Picca is awesome! Reminds of me GOLEM/ONYX of pokemon lol! Love the stone monsters! But Come on.. Luffy is the captain, and he aims to become Pirate King.. and he's with zoro & co. Winin' against pica is possible! They need to find his weakness and defeat him asap! Some New Luffy's/Zoro's attack + Haki = Pica defeated.
Sabo is so strong! and its confirmed that he's working under Dragon, (He's been saved by dragon) and one of is attacks(Dragon Claws) + Koala's presence explains it all. What you've seen is SABO destroying Burgess defence; Burgess didn't use Haki and is going to lose this fight. (He seems worried too)
Diamante starts to realise that Lucy ain't Luffy… and is absolutly SURPRISED by Burgess & Lucy's strenght. (He's gonna fetch the fruit I guess and run to DOFLA) ..
Its Bartolomeo who's standin' behind Rebecca, Not the opposite. (When she realised he was after her, she was about to fight him, then he crossed his fingers); Barto, Is going to defeat Diamante and all the other fighter-fishes by makin' a lot of invisible barriers like Hidden lasers. He's will probably Put rebecca in a barrier cube to protect her and wreck havoc teamin' with sabo.
Leo is going to miss his shot, and Ussop will finish it for him. Robin could handle Trebol for a few minutes since she can clone her body (won't get stuck by the beta beta fruit)
Once Suggar is down, SHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW TIIIIIIIIMEEEE IN BOTH PORT/EXECUTIVETOWER/COLESUEMZZZZEEEEEEEEEEE HaHaHaHaHa !!!

You really think operation SOP will run smoothly and not go any kind of wrong?
I'm sure Oda didn't give Cavendish a second personality just to have Rebecca win D-Block.
-
Chapter felt short but darn that was awesome.
-

I don't imagine it running smootly. But I don't imagine taking enough time for Cavendish to go where they sent him work a little, fall asleep and get back to the chamber as hakuba. I'm not even sure if Hakuba can properly fight or has enough duration to get there.
-
Hakuba is probably not bound by the contract as he is a separate mind.
Yeah, I'm liking this theory. It fits with the structuring of everything in this last chapter and the last few to have Cav's little psychological problem be the key to resisting the "contract" (only Cav heard the contract, but not Hakuba, so Hakuba doesn't have to follow the rules).
When the tatababasco fails, as it must, maybe toy-Hakuba will be rampaging and end up scaring Sugar half to death (which would be karmic justice, of course).
-
I'm confused. How does Soldiersan fight while the others cannot even resist?
My guess is that Sugar somehow got distracted before she could give him instructions.
-

Sugar won't have reaction about that grape/tatababasco :ninja:
Awesome chapter btw. Can't get enough of Sabo, I'm too interested

So wait, would Cavendish be turned back into a human if Hakuba took control, or would it just be Toy Hakuba raising hell all over the factory?
If the latter is true, that'd make him one of the coolest action figures ever!
-

it would be funny if the tatabasco gets eaten by cabage which will get him unconscious which will result in the above. all this from ussops fail scared shot which he will then explain it was all according to his plan lol
-
Nico vs. Trebol will be a thing, a beautfiul thing.

I don't think Hakuba will be the one to knock out Sugar. The way the Usoland thing was build up makes me think, that the initial plan will fail and Usopp will somehow solve the situation (probably just by being lucky), and the dwarves will hail him once again being the mighty Usoland.
Hakuba probably has another important role in this Arc. -
Has it already been discussed that maybe Trebol is a Snail zoan? It doesn't seem unlikely…
the fruit is named in this very chapter dude
-
That toy in "Hakuba mode"- it has potential to be very creepy toy
I am looking forward to it!
-
Boo and JB use the same weapon/armour ?
I thought about that, it does look almost identical in shape
-
I wonder who the 10th commander is, judging by Burgess' conversation with BB, Kuzan isn't affiliated with BB yet but is trying to. Maybe Stronger is, well, stronger than expected?
Hopefully Burgess doesn't go down this arc, it's too early and will kill the hype of the BB pirates. I'd prefer if Oda did what he did with Sanji vs Vergo and Zoro vs Fujitora for Burgess vs Sabo: show that the former is clearly outclassed and will surely lose if the fight went on, but don't have them get outright defeated.
You mean the Blue Pheasant has teamed up with Blackbird? yeah i guess that makes sense
Haha, this quote wins the thread.
-
whats the meaning of CoA?
probably already got the answer but it stands for color of armement
-
Vergo says howdy.
Is that so? Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't remember that question ever being answered. The tendency of spoons and hamburgers (iron-rich red meat) to stick to his face, the way he flew down the hallway, even Sanji's comment that his body is like a mass of iron. That last point may be explained away with CoA, but the first two points indicate some sort of iron-body or magnetism fruit. Did we ever get a concrete answer on that one?
-
I thought about that, it does look almost identical in shape
It might involve some sort of dial, we have yet to see if he can throw an other "sugon elbow" without it.
-
I am looking forward to it!
And since toys don't sleep he wont change back after transformation, or at least be in that form for longer.
-
im guessing blackbird is going for bird theme crew. we have bluebird, blackbird himself, and probably hes going to recruit angrybird+flappybird+bigbird+twitterbird+tweetybird soon
-
I kind of like that Pica has not spoken yet (unless I have missed it). Would be interesting if he were to never speak and be a rockmonster not saying anything.
-
For a moment I thought Sabo was using a devil fruit power called Dragon Claw. Damn.
