The Bosmer are absolute bosses when it comes to bows lol.
I was an archer in my last Skryrim run as well, though I spiced it up by being a Breton who summoned her bow. Really enjoyed doing that. So much so that this playthrough I'm a Breton again, this time going two handed and summoning a battle axe.

I haven't done an Argonian in Skyrim, but that is exactly what my original character in Oblivion was. That was my first time with an Elder Scrolls game, so I had no clue what I was doing. Certainly was fun though.

Pokemon X and Bioshock infinite
I haven't done an Argonian in Skyrim, but that is a exactly what my original character in Oblivion was. That was my first time with an Elder Scrolls game, so I had no clue what I was doing. Certainly was fun though.
My first character in Oblivion was your general smash 'em up Nord. No unnecessary thrills.
What an excellent excellent game though.
I picked up the Jewel of the Nile DLC for Serious Sam 3 during the sale recently. I played for like an hour and a half and still haven't beaten the first level in it. I quit because I kept dying on this part where they keep throwing enemies with me-seeking glowing energy balls of doom. Also playing with "hippie" gore setting which turns all blood decals into flowers and all gore into large carrots and pumpkins.
Well I cleared out my house of the huge piles of JRPGs I had sitting around gathering dust and now I only have a rather sparse selection of a few platformers and some horror novel games.
I started playing Kirby Triple Deluxe but I'm pacing myself. It's such an easy and straightforward game I'm afraid I might finish it in an hour or two if I get too serious about it.
Other than that I started playing Imabikisou, by Chunsoft 1/2 of the team behind Dangan Ronpa and the creators of the most prolific horror novel game; Kamaitachi no Yoru. Imabikisou is a little hard to 'read' since the way they decided to write the game is that the actual dialogue is un-written and instead actually plays in the background while you read the narration. This allows for some interesting bits because you're reading the narrator's reaction to someone saying something AS they're saying it, so it lets you get a more realistic look into the main character's mind than if you were just reading the dailogue and then what he thought about it.
As a horror game so far it's raised my hair more than once and I'm only about 3% done with it. There was one scene where the camera just slowly zooms in on the burnt outline of a human at a crime scene on the news that just gave me the willies. There was nothing outstandingly crazy about the scene, it just reminded me a lot of something that one crazy horror manga writer would draw.
… though I can't get over how ridiculous it is to be reading a horror story centered around drugs when Japan is like the most drug-free country in the world. So a bunch of college students are getting their hands on this drug that is well-known enough to be discussed in Pharmaceutical lectures and yet no one has been arrested for possession or distribution yet? mmm-hmm. Maybe Chunsoft originally meant to set the story in America.
Clocked like 100 hours in Disgaea D2 without really noticing it. Item World is ridiculously addictive, and it's funny since I keep seeing new shit despite thinking I seen everything. Currently on the final story chapter and kinda just plowing through it. I could slide the difficulty up to max in the cheat shop, but I feel going through high leveled items in Item World is just enough challenge for me. This is why I like this game so much. There's just so much control and no apparent wrong way to play it(except when it comes to maxing, but I don't even think that's important unless you are a super OCD/completionist)
Thinking of wrapping up the main story soon. If I play the randomly generated portion too much, I might be burnt out from tactic based RPG for another 6 years.
I thought I was gonna wait until I got a PS4 to pick up Assassin's Creed IV. I KNEW I could handle the wait…until I saw it marked down to $30 for a new copy at Gamestop. Now I gots me a new copy of Assassin's Creed IV~
The fact that I caved on that means I almost certainly will after the release of my most anticipated game, Ground Zeroes.

I just finished playing through Syberia (point and click adventure) which I bought on GOG on sale a while ago. Has anyone else played this?
Overall I thought it was pretty cool, with some good puzzles, decent voice acting and an interesting plot. But it had quite a few problems, including crash bugs and a poorly designed cursor system which makes it really easy to overlook areas you can walk to on some screens. I also had an inventory issue where an important document I had to read wasn't showing up in my documents section.
From a purely gameplay standpoint, I feel like a lot of the puzzles were either too straightforward or too isolated. They weren't all easy, but even the harder puzzles were rarely what I'd call clever. It got really easy to tell when an item would have to be used again later because they disappear from your inventory after becoming useless. And items had a pretty short scope in terms of how much further in the game they will be needed.
Maybe my biggest actual gameplay complaint is that only things that are absolutely required can be interacted with. I'm used to being able to at least examine all sorts of objects, and get a short description of them even if they can never be picked up and they don't hold relevance to the game. Hell, in this game I can't even examine items in my own inventory! Really? I can't get a one-sentence description of the thing I picked up? That really kills the immersion and world-building, as well as character development.
A more minor gripe is that conversation trees are super static, to the point where even after you've talked to someone about a subject, a different dialogue choice might lead to an exchange that completely ignores the information you just learned etc. Or, for example, a locked door where your character says "It's locked, but I still need to get in there!" even after you've found an alternate way in and finished what you had to do inside. Kind of meh.
But overall, a solid, creative game.

Too many wonky puzzles or mediocre conversation trees and nagging issues to reach the LucasArts heights, but pleasant enough to top the terribleness that is King's Quest/Space Quest (speaking as someone who still has a soft spot for both series). Especially thought Syberia was ahead of the curve in having a likable, strong, and matter-of-fact female protagonist. And the story is sweet, if a little awkwardly told.
Syberia II is very much more of the same. It's worth your two bucks at least.

Playing "The Wonderful 101" on the Wii U and it is a good game.
The learning curve is steep but once you can play it it becomes so much better. It problems lies mostly in the fixed perspective with difficulty to see the leader character in big skirmishes and the Terrible Wii U screen sections, the framerate goes up and down depending on the amount of enemies and number of teammates. However, the personality of the game flowes in every screen and the over the top moments are fantastic. A particualy memeroble moment is when the player tickels a giant enemy robot off the ship to save it from destruction.
Also, wondering if the new Mario 3D world is worth getting.

I love the King's Quest series, especially 2, 3, 4 and 6… but those are way more sadistic and can lock you out of being able to win in a million ways. I'll pick up Syberia 2 if it's on sale, but it is not 2 bucks right now, it's 10 bucks.
As for a strong, likable female protagonist, The Longest Journey soundly takes the cake and it predates Syberia.

Guilty Admission: I've never finished The Longest Journey. I always get bored about a third of the way through. And I find April likable, but I was never nearly as enthralled by her.

It's one of my favorite games ever, and I say that having only played it for the first time last year. The thing is, April comes to life in that game. And a huge part of it is in examining your surroundings and hearing her running commentary, which as I said is missing in Syberia and leaves Kate feeling hollow to me. And all those phone calls you periodically get are so heavy-handed – I could tell exactly what was going to happen basically from the first call from each (boss threatening to fire her, fiancé leaving/cheating on her, mom's boyfriend being important, etc). April colors her world through her own eyes, not through contrived dialogue, and in the end I was totally sold on every part of her. I was her. If you only got a third of the way through you probably didn't even get to see a lot of her development, which is kind of sad. One of my favorite parts, I don't know if you got that far, is where she has a conversation with her "dark side" in the Spirit Dig.

Yeah, I'm fine with that. It might have come off that I was suggesting that Kate was superior to April, but really, I was just saying both games deserve some credit for being ahead of that curve. I didn't particularly care for April, but in part that was just a reaction to my inability to get into the game. I only liked Kate because I liked the game's sweet-if-simple arc…and, well, her relationship with Oscar.
But it's been a long time for me with both games, so that might be different now.
Oscar was great. Sort of ironically, he was the only character that had a real colorful personality (and humor) in the whole game. But Kate, for her part in their relationship, was mainly just yelling at him for being a stickler about protocol. Anyway to mirror what you said, I'm not trying to make Kate seem like a bad character, it was just frustrating to not get more.

I'm having a love affair with the Binding of Isaac. For a simple flash game that has been touted as one of the most disturbing games in recent memory (who the hell finds this disturbing, I have no idea), it's incredibly good fun that has ridiculous replayability with the amount of items that it has. And the entire game is designed to be so hard that you will die and have to start from the beginning (a rogue light), but since the difficulty only keeps increasing ever so slightly with every new floor and with the actions that you take, dying doesn't feel as frustrating in some platformer.
It's so good. To think that I only got it on the Winter Sale because I happened to see its name and thought that I could buy it because I had an extra euro or two on my paypal account at that point.

Picked up the Infamous collection from GameStop a few days ago so will be playing that soon. Wanting to get a feel for the series before I pick up a PS4 to see if I'd want to go for Second Son or not. I've heard a lot of positive about the games though. I'm optimistic about it.
Though will be downloading the Lightning Return demo also (the FFXIII series is a guilty pleasure of mine).
inFamous 1 is merely OK. inFamous 2 is vastly improved. Both are pretty flawed games, but Sucker Punch is a very good studio at fixing prior mistakes on new iterations, so I still think Second Son will be the first truly next-gen game for the PS4.
Played through Last of Us over the weekend. Quite good.
Also doing a run through Okami HD, planning to platinum it. NOT looking forward to the fishing minigame or grinding money up to buy the two taunt attacks again however, those were some of the only things I didn't do in my original 110 hour PS1 run just due to the sheer time expenditure. (I know, its like a 40 or 50 hour game… but I explored EVERYTHING and ran around for fun... and found 95 or so of the 100 beads on my own without a guide.) Enjoying the replay it otherwise... speedrunning through most of the story stuff to get most of the abilities (I desperately want to run on water again) before I spend too much time exploring or bead hunting or whatnot. Just beat the first spider queen, have a chunk to go before facing Orochi for the first time yet, so I've still got a lot of game to go.
Doing a little bit of OP Musou 2 on the side since that was on sale a Christmas. Eh, its okay. Better than the first one, but no where near the best musou game around,and I don't care for most of the characters. Definitely NOT platinum-ing it. Getting S rank on every single stage to get the secret coins, including all the ally stages is just stupid. (Beating hard mode on every stage? Sure. Doing it without taking any damage while getting 1200 kos AND doing it fast in every stage? For like 100 stages? No thanks.) Shame, since OP and Musou SHOULD be a match made in heaven for me... but I've had way more fun on other musou titles.
Its possible my knowledge of the series is actually a detriment in this case since instead of being random characters I know nothing about where I can just enjoy the moves, there's instead a sense of "ugh, I don't want to play THAT guy. Sure he's strong, but ugh." combined with a heavy dose of "Why isn't the character I like playable?" for about 30 characters that only have partial movesets. And I know the story is complete nonsense stupidity... which isn't as big a deal with Gundam or Dynasty or Samurai Warriors or Basara.
ALSO some Starcraft 2. And Animal Crossing. And Pokemon.

Finished Disgaea D2, and is looking forward to playing the post game after purchasing several DLC characters. I don't know who they are, but Zetta and Metallia looks like fun. Also NISA whenever she's released in the west. That's like… 9 dollars? It seems kinda pushing it for a character in a tactics based RPG, but I got the game as a gift... and I want to support Nippon in some way. Hopefully the gameplay is enough to keep me interested until Dark Souls 2 is out.
Well, I was able to get everything in Super Mario 3D World in a week (well, except beat every level with every character. Yeah, no, not anytime soon, if ever). I sure did spend $60 on that.
Nah, actually it was a pretty fun game. Probably the best of the "New" Mario games.
Anyway, as for now, I broke out the old SNES for the first time in years and I'm replaying Super Metroid.

Really glad to hear you're enjoying this one! It really is a wonderful achievement in both visual and gameplay design (not to mention the terrific soundtrack). I hope you stick with it to the end of the end. The sense of accomplishment over what had probably seemed completely impossible at the start is really something satisfying.

Now I'm trying to beat Super Mario Bros. 2/Lost Levels (Super Mario All-Stars version). My god this game is retardedly hard. How anyone can be expected to beat the original non-saving version is beyond me.

Finished 358/2 Days (the Kingdom Hearts game). Solid gameplay (although a bit dull at times), and while the story started off slow and had its stretch of weak moments, it finished pretty strong towards the end. But man oh man, the replay value. Able to play as the Organization AND Donald/Goofy/Riku/Mickey/Sora? Yes please.
Figured I'll try getting 100% on every mission, although I'm tempted to go back to Professor Layton for a bit.

Last time I tried to play that game (NES version) I could only get as far as world 8 before storming out of the room. "For super players" indeed. Just remember not to use any of the warp zones, otherwise you won't get to worlds 9, A-D.

Well, you're a lot better than I am. I gave up around World 2 or 3 last time I played the NES version.
And yeah, I know about the Warp Zone thing. I'm actually on World D now.
Got a little further in Crysis and reinstalled Stalker CoP with a few mods so I can replay it.
Beat the E4 and Champion in Pokemom HeartGold, which officially puts me farther than I've ever been in HG/SS before. Now just gotta make my way through Kanto.

Started playing Mafia 1 again. So far I've done more driving stuff than anything else. I want to get to some shooting already.
Trying really hard to like Minish Cap, but it feels so stiff and almost shallow. Maybe it would pick up after dungeon 3.

Personally I felt the big part in this one was the sidequest stuff like the figurines and keystones. They were addicting
Got to some shooting in Mafia finally. It's pretty good but it's pretty stiff compared to more modern games. Wish all games had procedural animation for this kind of stuff like Euphoria in the last few Rockstar games.

The Fatal Frame series. By far the scariest games on any of the PS2/Xbox/Wii era systems.
Also if you have a PSP make sure to get Corpse Party and its sequels.
And for PC check out Higurashi no Naku Koro ni which is available in English. However, for this one I recommend you look into getting the fan patch that fixes the soundtrack and gives it the PS2 art since the original art will take you out of the spookiness of the story due to looking like a grade schooler's attempt at drawing anime.
If you have stupid amounts of money to spend you can also look up Rule of Rose which is creepy and surreal and runs for way more than it's worth on Amazon or Ebay.
Edit: Crap how could I forget Siren? Siren and Siren 2 (as well as the remake) are amazing. Though they're as balls-breaking hard as they are scary so be warned. They've got the best commercial ever, though:

Im playing battle of Z after a while the game grows on you. When i first played the demo i hated it then i played it four more times now i love the game.
Playing Dark Cloud 2 "still in chapter 2" and Captain Tusbasa on PS2. Man I forgot how much I loved these games and how awesome the PS2 games were.
I really wish they'd make a remake of Dark Cloud 2 for PS3 or Vita as it's the best RPG game I've ever played .
