The reason why I don't do translations for scanlations are, simply because I'd like to distance myself from an illegal activity with such high exposure.

And yes, some will argue it's not available due to IP restrictions in their country.
That hasn't stopped us from accessing various services in Japan, such as Nico Nico subscriptions.
We also pay for 2ch account to bypass IP restrictions, and I import manga volumes despite the high cost associated with it.
And I'm not rich, not even close.

Bypassing IP restrictions as a consumer is a matter of mere inconvenience, not illegal.
