@peeko:
Dude please you think moria was on par with kaido? really? I know we don't know for sure but comon lol, im staying with my conclusion that kaido wiped the floor with moria, EZ
Lol well that's what was implied when Moria's battle with Kaido was mentioned. Bear in mind that Moria previously had a bounty of 320,000,000. Higher than any of the eleven supernovas pre-timeskip. Though bounties are based on your danger rating, it's unlikely that Moria could gain that kind of notoriety without being pretty strong. Like the other guys said, this was back when Moria depended on his own strength, and didn't just rely on the strength of others.
Going by the timeline, and the fact that Kaido is never mentioned alongside the old timers such as Roger and WB, it's fairly safe to guess that Moria and Kaido were part of the same generation or thereabouts. Meaning, once again as the other guys suggested, that Kaido was on his way to yonko level strength when he obliterated Moria, rather than having already peaked.
Considering that Moria, after having sat on his ass for a decade, was still able to give Luffy major trouble and only lost because of a number of factors not to do with actual fighting ability, I don't think it's at all hard to imagine Moria fighting on equal ground with a prospective yonko level fighter.
I'm actually really looking forward to Moria coming back into the story. Considering the job Oda has done redeeming Bellamy, imagine the kind of redemption we'll see for Moria, a guy who shared Luffy's dream and loved his old crew as much as Luffy does his own, and had it all taken away from him in the most horrible circumstances.
