I would really have preferred to get Berserk's new chapter, but if taking a break from Gatsu & co. is good for Miura, it's gonna be good for us in the future.

And in those 6 chapters, they might have made a tiny bit of headway towards fishman elf island!
At the pace Berserk runs at anymore, a couple of chapters just really doesn't feel like much. I'd actually prefer it if Berserk just wrapped up in the next couple years and Muira did crazy random one shots like this every year.

I've been getting the manga since 2000, and the english trnaslations since Darkhorse started running them in 2003. The series was on volume 21 at the time. Its at 37 now. While a lot has happened in that time and the series has basically doubled in size over 13 years… it also feels like NOT a lot has been happening. Its only gotten through a couple arcs in all that time.
16 volumes of progress and it feels like its barely made a dent. guts gathered a group, killed a giant butterfly, got some berserker armor, Griffith was reborn, merged the two worlds, and both of them have putzed around doing things and killing stuff but... it just does not feel like 13 years of progress. (Heck, Caska is STILL insane, and she's been on the road to a cure for years now.)
I love Berserk, but I'm kind of ready for it to wrap up too. Muira can do short contained stories once a year that do similar things but provide new worlds and characters instead.
Especially since "10 more years" Still doesn't guarantee it finishing at its current pace. (Whereas One Piece I'm fine with 10 more years, since it keeps on going.)
I expect Berserk to last 25 years by now.

I tend to go by the "spirit of adventure" is fine for a plot. There's been character development and growth and change, just not a whole lot affecting the main plot. The stuff that got people interested in the story in the first place. I do think now maybe they'll finally get back to a lot of it though. I mean we just finished a flashback arc.

i haven't read HxH since Gon's body 'grew up' in grief…but it never felt a difficult story with many ends to take care of....

Technically speaking, it could have ended in the chapter right before the last hiatus.
But instead Togashi decided to leave another chapter with another large plot point to deal with.
HxH is never going to end within 2-3 years from now unless it's a really abrupt ending. Same with Berserk, but at least Berserk has Miura showing that he still gives a damn.

Mangatopia has the chapter translated in spanish! If you understand the language than you can read it.
Is in this times that I'm happy that Portuguese and Spanish are practically the same :). Well not the same, but they are so close that a Portuguese person can talk in Portuguese to a Spanish person or a Spanish can talk in Spanish to a Portuguese person and they still understand each other, except some strange words.
I already read the chapter and I understood 99.9% of the chapter, only one or two words I didn't understood very well(but google translate came to the rescue :) ).

Togashi can't properly end it in 2 or 3 years… even if he started coming out every week for the next three years. He's got a crazy number of loose ends. The only way to end it that fast is with an open-ended "things aren't resolved but their lives and quests keep on going" sort of ending... which he kind of already had.

The election arc actually took care of a lot of things, aside from the Spiders and Gyro.

Sure, we want and assume he'll destroy all the god hand one by one and restore the land and whatnot, and we WANT him to get revenge on Griffith and for Caska to be restored, but... the Berserk world IS kinda dark. It could just as easily end with another Eclipse, Guts dying, (after killing Griffith) and one of the kids picking up the quest after him in a never ending vicious cycle.
Heck, the series STARTED with Guts fighting Griffith again in a mini-summoning...

It may be writer's block or simply the author getting tired of his own creation. Him wanting to start new series, even loli Nausicaa's rip-offs, is commendable, at least he is not fooling himself. Hell, maybe a year vacation would help to clear his mind.
And yeah I rant too much about this series, but thats only because I care (or cared)

Yeah… at least Oda in OP changes the setting, story, and secondary cast about once year. Muira... is still stuck with the same handful of characters in the same setting as he did when he started.
I'd be sick of it too. Especially working on it day in, day out, at the complete cost of a social life? Especially as dark and twisted and messed up as it is. The things that interested you 20 years ago just can't be what holds you still that much later, no without some change and variance.
I'm sure that while he's comitted to, and wants, to finish telling the story that he started, properly, especially after all this time... he's gotta be wishing it was over too, ready to just cut out an arc or two in some spot. I don't even work on it and I'm tired of it!
To Miura Berserk means his life, not only because he earns his living from it but because that's the work he commited most of his life to.
For him to realize that he cant keep doing it (on a proper way that's it) must have been a devastating blow. But as I said at least now he is trying to escape the Berserk brand instead of pulling dull chapter after dull chapter.
It's for the best to let Berserk rest, for a while or even forever.

I don't see Togashi tieing up everything , after all the main plot was pretty much destroyed by him when Gin decided to show up out of no where , even though we were supposed to see Gon character growth as a hunter when he met his father . I guess he must have gotten tired of the series when he worked on that crappy / pointless arc for 10 years .

The arc was only good for the world building ( Dark Continent was pretty much an asspull from Togashi ) and for the most part it was a pretty typical shonen battle arc that was resolved with Gon getting a random ass power up ( Nakama power up ) through Kite death which was only used as a plot device for Gon anger ( and brought back by the end of the arc ) , despite the fact that his relationship wasn't even build up to the point of him going out of his character to revenge him . This is a very known cliche in shonen demograph . And HXH storylines have been pretty weak and non-exist from the beginning and seem to change from an arc to arc , i don't really see how this can come off as a surprise since i highly Togashi can tie those stuff when his level of writing isn't near someone like Oda ( who is well known for his connecting plots , subpots and foreshadowing events ) nor Togashi seems like he give a shit about HXH anymore and probably will rush the ending like he did with the overall HXH plot.

Though looking at your post, most of your criticism seems rather shallow and I cant believe you seriously think Togashis level of writing as something below One Piece. But might give the HxH thread something else to discuss then the anime or how lazy togashi can be.
Going back on-topic: I dont really care about his newest series, even if Miura publish some berserk chapters afterwards. But then what? Another year-long hiatus with maybe another patch of unrelated stuff thereafter?
If he really is tired of Berserk or writing in general, he should come clean with it. He can just announce that he will stop for three or four years and enjoy his life (he should have more then enough money) or write something else if he feels like it. And when his interest for berserk reignites, maybe he can stockpile some chapters for the times when he continues writting the series.
As for the arc with the Priests, it felt way too much like one piece, the quality didn't live up to its predecessors either. Repetitiveness, another summoning of Griff; toned down a lot, and had some cheap shots.
I might be a minority but my favorite was the Lost Children arc. As much as it was "not really about griffith"
Now: All these new griffith characters are super cool and all, especailly Grunbeld, but I can't help but feel this is going in a really lame direction. I liked Farnese and Sirpico's flashbacks but after they joined up with Guts it's gotten a bit boring and not in a "build-up" kind of way, which I actually enjoy.
On the far side, Grif's side of the story is just getting convoluted. Or it seems like it.I have no idea where this is going, but it could be really good, or really bad.
And I think I'm lucky catching up and the manga's back… but lol another togashi writer with a MONTHLY manga.

Finally up in English.
Quite interesting start, I like the main characters and the goofy attitude they display at times. The art is - as usual - amazing and it has even more Nausicäa vibes than i thought it would have from the RAWs alone.
When it was first announced I thought that it would be more scifi, instead he still uses more of a fantasy setting. It's still enjoyable, I just would really love to see him do something completely different to berserk.
Not madly impressed with this just yet. So far it's adventures of strong dude and exposition text dump girl. Pretty art tho.

So can we assume that Berserk will truly continue after this mini series is over? I just want it to go on a bi weekly/monthly schedule again. Hell, its finally getting somewhere good (Caska hopefully gets her memory and sanity back, and more about Griffiths Kingdom). Literally the only other manga I deem worthy besides one piece. The whole starting from nothing and ending with killing gods is such an amazing concept. I just hope he can finally continue this without cutting corners or cancelling it. As far as I see it it's only 1/2 way or 2/3rds through its story. There is still so much more that can happen.

Even in real life some people experience some really shit: like being imprisoned and raped for years and they are still sane. Those people normally have some kind of trauma, but overall they are pretty much sane!

I agree to an extent. I would assume that she will at least become "sane enough" to be able to process thoughts, speak, fend for herself, and have general intelligence. Hell, just a normal human being withholding the eclipse incident and if that's were the case, would probably include her past as well.
On the other side of the spectrum, I would very much love if she were involved in the final battle vs. the gods. Although considering she is not on godslaying level like Guts, but she should still be able to assist in some form or another. She is technically a vegetable, but she IS branded, and has survived the eclipse. (This is speaking as if she does become sane.)
With that being said, if a final confrontation with Griffith included Casca. (with her memories withheld) You could also assume this would bring forth those hidden and repressed horrors of the eclipse. You have to consider the worst possible scenario for this manga, and that's why it's great.

Now she might not turn insane if she got that memory, it's true. But needless to say the PTSD is going to be intense (just like how it is right now as she's lost her memory). Raped by a demigod who was originally someone who you really respected and loved in a dark and desolate field of demon flesh and blood as all your friends lay slaughtered and your lover helplessly watches from only a short distance away?
The biggest hint is probably the words of the Skull Knight who mentioned basically that maybe she doesn't want the memories (or at least those ones) back.
