There'll probably be some filler this episode (or a longer recap), since Caesar's defeat was already fully covered last episode.

Thank you .
Welp, Toei really doesn't like the Lucci-broker-theory, lol.
Actually if you look at the manga really closely you can see that they're two different people. It's in the shape of the hats and "hair."
16 char of TONS of filler
Buffalo sounds way different from what I imagined.
I don't liked it.
I really liked it :D
What kind of filler did they add?
I liked the episode, especially the last few minutes.
I didn't imagine Buffalo to sound like that either, but I think it was pretty good. A rather distinct and unusual voice.
What lacked impact on the other hand was how he blow away Shinokuni. How high did Baby 5 have to jump to be in the air for so long, lol?
Also nice details on Doflamingo's Den Den Mushi, besides the one for Buffalo, there was also one for Vergo, CC and the little girl. The other ones I couldn't make out in the short amount of time we saw it.
Franky's entrance was also very nicely done and the fight next episode looks promising as well. :D
! Can't wait for Dressrosa. The few bits in this episode hyped me up, a lot.
Decent episode, I guess.
16 chars of Yawn
Yeah, I don't really like Buffalo's voice. Might take some getting used to.
The first half of the episode can basically be summed in three words: running and recaps
The second half had Baby 5 and her wacky gag. I need a gif of her twiddling her fingers. lol
Cool entrance by Franky Shogun, with awesome new music to boot.

Oh god, Buffalo's voice reminds of Billy from Billy & Mandy, i guess the voice director must have been watching Billy & Mandy while they were in the casting process
Am I the only one who wasn't caught off guard by Buffalo's voice? I think it fits him, actually, since he's kind of a dweeb.
Buffalo's va is Yasuhiro Takato, same guy who does Bepo. Also Wanze, Mr. 9 and Satori.
Well, this episode wasn't too bad. Just felt like a standard transition episode. Everyone is pretty much gathered at the exit area, and we're introduced to Buffalo and Baby 5 (which was done quite nicely). Also noticed how they trimmed down the Luffy vs. Ceaser fight in the recap…and that was actually done pretty well! I can buy Ceasar being "high" off his power of science, only to panic as soon as Luffy's attack hits and just starts to plow through his arms. They should've just done it like that instead of making it a grappling match...but oh well, at least we got it done decently, albeit in a recap. Overall, decent episode. Art was a little wonky in places, but not enough to really distract imo. ^^

don't forget billy from strong world, he sure get a lots of roles in this anime for an annoyed voice
Franky's intro and the setup for next week's battle were the best parts of the episode.
Cool entrance by Franky Shogun, with awesome new music to boot.
This, especially the cool new music.
Yeah, Buffalo's voice was weird. Well, moreso his way of speaking than the voice per se.
Great that they're using the new music that was recently released.
Buffalo's voice was annoying.
Last scene was cool!
Better than last weeks' but a pretty average episode with some serious highs and lows.
Apparently the director of this episode realized how shitty the Deguchi's arm wrestling match was because it is pretty much gone in the recap and the new animation adds more of a one-sided beat down in easily the best animation of the entire episode. The rest of the first half had some very spotty direction with quite a few flashbacks, including a flashback within a flashback. The sense of time is pretty muddled there, but Luffy gets some hilarious dialogue as the episode's highlight.
The second half was kinda okay with Baby 5 having some very funny scenes, but everything outside of the art regarding Buffalo was pretty bad. His voice has the most grating "brain-dead cartoon boob" voice in recent memory. It was very one-note with an odd monotone quality and ends up being a chore to listen to. His facial animation is extremely static even though he's suppose to be conveying shock in a few scenes and the flying animation is about as cheap as it gets, about as bad as the FI debut episode of Sanji's sky walk. Franky's entrance was a pretty sweet scene that all but saves the ending of the episode from being a major letdown.
619 looks better but we'll see. My enjoyment will largely depend on how much Buffalo speaks.
Animation Director: Masahiro Kitazaki (new guy)
Hmmm, I guess that explains why Usopp and Brook looked slightly off-model.
Gotta say that Buffalo's design looks even stupider in anime. (And yeah I know he has same colors in the manga) Love his voice tough, more over the top the better!
And Baby 5 is just adorkable!
I find his voice really annoying. Which is a shame since I've been loking forward to this episode :/
So the broker that resembled Rob Lucci in the manga…he had a different moustache in this episode.
Meaning he isn't Lucci, right?
There was a shot from the side of Buffalo's hair rotating around his neck, I found that pretty funny.
Loved the episode (seriously reading the manga the night beforehand really helps you figure out how it will be paced) and considering the episode is the strawhats joining back together i got that sense of "we did it" warmth that was also captured in the manga. they went back and fixed CC's defeat (i didnt hate it but thank God it's Gone)
what would have been cool would be to get some anime-only material (courtesy of Oda) as to exactly how brook got kine'mon out of the gas and the process of changing.
onto the second half. i felt the episode shined alot here too IDK how people dont like his voice, it had me laughing pretty hard. and it's One Piece expect some vocal oddities. i think the only voice i Didnt like from this series was Fukuro or whatever Zipper-face's name was. regardless i learned something… Toei Loves general Franky lol epic entrance and if I'm not mistaken new music for him.
overall? 8/10
i really liked it
(but seriously send Deguchi to an art school and the filler team.)
So is it safe to assume that the brokers were after all mostly unknown?
Good episode of One Piece
Am I tripping out, or did Toei actually take out Usopps main epic scene in this arc???
!
Why? Why would you do that? Just why?!
Baby 5 This week was very cute.

"Baby 5, will you marry me?"
"Oh i don't know…" {thought bubble: "He needs me (´ ▽`).。o♡ " }
knock on door
DD: "Shinu Yaro…" (die bastard with my barely japanese :)
(i had to)

i always thought the purpose of most brokers was to show how many involved in the underworld and most are unknown and in the shadows like a proper underworld.

I'll give Toei the benefit of the doubt that they are saving this for the next episode. (since they showed them crying, they maybe left it open for the opportunity)

That's kinda impossible, since it don't fit in the story anymore… They skipped it, and now that Ceaser is defeated, the next part would be them asking to join him in the escape so... yeah

Not exactly the mooks look kinda pissed off at Usopp, so they may actually get to showing usopp doing these things (don't worry i noticed it too) since the next chapter is a lot of action they may need it to fill up space. It can actually be added inbetween that scene with chopper running and Usopp leaving before they beg him to go with him. or early on in the episode.
or it could just be added in a flashback. either one works fine.

exactly what i had in mind. if Toei actually planned this then they are quite smart (or at least the new director)
So guys Youtube has exploded with the therory that there will be a filler arc after this one (15 or so episodes). Makes sense seeing as how the anime is 34 chapters behind the Manga. but would the next arc benefit from some filer before it? just curious as to your thoughts? i mean if it's done right the next arc can keep the ratio and extend the fights smoker v. Virgo style
I kind of think that filler has to happen, the anime so very close to the manga right now, and since it's highly doubtful that Toei would just take a break from making One Piece, some filler arcs seem to be the most likely solution right now.
They could go back to doing episodes where everything is supposed to be like Edo-style Japan, or they can return to the Chopper-Man episodes (this time with Brook involved).
! I could also see them having Law give DD a week to quit as Shichibukai as opposed to tomorrow morning, and in that week's time, Law, Kinemon, and Momo get themselves involved in some classic Strawhat shenanigans at some random filler island that will probably have some annoying little kid as the main ally of that arc.
I literally laughed when I saw that old man they put up there instead of "Lucci." Good for Toei; I despised that oh-so-smart notion of "top hat + curly hair = LUCCI!"
This was a pretty okay episode. Animation was downright beautiful compared to last week's. I just wish they had introduced Baby 5 and Buffalo better. That music and their dorky shtick didn't really jive with the rest of the episode's atmosphere. Though it's straight from the manga, so you can't really fault them. Also Buffalo's voice.. Doesn't irk me as much when you consider just how many chapters he's gonna be in. 's a'ight
So guys Youtube has exploded with the therory that there will be a filler arc after this one (15 or so episodes).
Oh joy, a brand spanking new theory from the educated and highly logical people of Youtube?! Say it isn't so..
The anime has had ample room to make filler arcs for quite a number of years now and have not. They prefer the formula of sticking filler into the episode itself now. The only reason that god awful .. Lilly Stomach fetishist circus happened was because of the Z movie.
! And having Law stick around for an entire made up arc is nasty

Please tell me you're joking. YouTube is the last place you should go to have a decent, intelligent conversation (especially with One Piece fans these days).
As said before, the anime has had many opportunities to insert multiple filler arcs within the last several years. Toei seems really comfortable with the way they're going with the anime now; they can slack as much as they want and it'll still get high ratings. From a business standpoint, it's genius. There's really no reason for them to put in the extra effort… Despite the show exploiting the low budget and effort spent on its production, there will always be people watching it because it's One Piece.
Don't get me wrong, I'd love a filler arc. It'd do the anime wonders. This easily used to be my favorite show, but I really haven't enjoyed many episodes produced in the last 4-5 years because Toei turned it into a shell of its former self.

Not a joke, but it did spark an interesting thought.
! how would one handle a filler arc with Law? you could just have him not be in it ORRRRRRR just make a bunch of OP slice of life episodes. idk, something interesting. I even went and made a thread about the ideal filler arc. any short anime story worth watching.
no there are some pretty smart people on there if you know who you are talking to. while i will admit the masses are a bunch of sheep who bandwagon based off what others think as opposed to themselves. (just look at any forneverworld video- never mind the fact that FNW is a mindless jackass himself). they assume one piece has always been this really fast anime that always delivers forgetting they marathoned the whole thing. (it was fast once upon a time but around alabastia the pacing started to slow down)
also the forums are more educated on these matters but ive seen some pretty stupid comments from forums too.
the anime has had opportunities but now they are treading on thin water. only 34 chapters? thats cutting it a little close isnt' it?
They need to make at least a small filler arc(like that lily crap) sooner or later beacuse of Oda's constant breaks.

Pretty sure I saw a future episode list on this very forum saying otherwise.
The titles only go up to Chapter 694 so far, so filler is still possible, but highly unlikely.
Very well done episode. Only complaint would be the cutting out of Usopp's thing but if they include that next episode all is forgiven. Buffalo and Baby 5's scenes were great. I disagree with the hate of Buffalo's voice. I thought it fit him quite well. General Franky's entrance was done wonderfully. Great music choice.
The problem with a filler arc now is the 3 days countdown to the tea party.
And Law's plan sets motion the very next morning…
I agree with the people saying Buffalo's voice is annoying… kinda. It's not so much that his voice is annoying, it's his intonation that's obnoxious as fuck. Accent on the wrong syllable taken to the extreme, man…
That aside, pretty okay episode. The mid-episode narration was dumb though. And don't go telling me "But it was in the manga!", it's still stupid.
