From Back to the Future, how?
The Ace-Akainu face off. I'm rereading Marineford right now. Still hate it more than any other arc.

Ahhh it wasn't the best way to deal with that situation but that's what happens when someone doesn't back off when he has to
After Whitebeard got rid of Akainu he should have been out for the rest of the war.
Using a certain move eldon't have to do with buying a shirt. You use the shirt seldomly because it's new. You use a move seldomly because because you sledomly meet those who required you use it.
We should see that the protagonist have evolve his base just like his best. Not that his best have become his base.
This guy gets it also I never really felt Ace was that relevant.
I wish Ace had more fights with other people prior to being captured.
I wish that Moria's looks at Roger's execution be his debut design.
I wish someone would have joined during Skypeia.
I wish the PH children never existed.
Crew member haven't been getting a good amount of development for awhile, especially Usopp. He's been a let down ever since water 7, he had one moment of being brave, then went back to being weak, dopey and scared.

What exactly have you been reading lately?
I wish the Ace/Luffy arm wrestling scene in Alabasta from the Anime was canon, as it helped develop their bond.
My main issue is that the Luffy/Ace relationship and how important it was to both of them was all but implied up to Marineford. While that worked for many people, and the evenutal post-war flashback addressed many of the issues. I find that this lone scene from the anime said everything that really needed to be said about their relationship, and it's a shame Oda did not think to write that, or make it "canon" in the manga sense.
I wish the anime didn't have 3 minute openings.
I wish the anime didn't have 3 minute openings.
The anime has no ending though, so if the opening is shorter they will simply adding an ending again.
And I'm sure this is the manga section, so keep the anime talk out of it

I agree with this, I want the ending songs to come back
Nitpicking? Hmm..
Video den den mushi! Call me weird but i find it a convenient plot device. We didn't even see one till Sabaody,
but since then Oda uses it constantly in almost every arc, even in the latest flashback.
I'm not really against it though, i just find it weird in One Piece's time setting.

Because it wasn't needed before.

Ok, off the top of my head, i'll refer to Alabasta. For example, the broadcast of Vivi's speech. Or just imagine Vivi using a video Den den mushi to avert the armies from clashing.
Oda probably just didn't thought about it earlier
That too.
Also I stand corrected. It could be useful in Arabasta.

If he had used it there, everybody would know it was Igaram instead of Vivi: this way, we only found out when we saw her @ the coast. Better this way, IMO.
On the other hand, there could be other examples where it could of been used before, maybe …
And IIRC, Impeldown was the 1st place we saw one of these, in their control rooms: this was before the Marineford arc.

Right. But you get my point.

Right again, sorry, in my mind i was thinking we've already seen them in the first time Strawhats arrived in Sabaody, but that's not the case.

You do realize that we learn about new tech as the story progress, East Blue didn't have Den Den mushis at all and Devil Fruit's were a myth, the first Den Den mushi appeared in Ch.94 in a Marine Base then as the story progressed we saw that Devil Fruits weren't considered a myth in the grand line and the only ones who had Den Den Mushis were organizations such as Baroque Works and Alabasta who were at the start of the Grand Line but as we get to Shabody we learned that there are different types of Den Den Mushis

I mostly agree with your post, but the comparison of technology and Devil Fruits is inexact. While DFs are generally distributed geometrically in the Grand Line (with most of them in the New World, and almost none outside Grand Line), how come technology should be? If the Marines and World Government are the greatest contributors to OP's technology, New World should be relatively not that technologically advanced, since there are no Marine bases outside Marineford (and except of single technologically advanced islands).
Sorry guys, i don't wanna start a debate here, after all it's a 'without repercussions' thread.

Actually that's how it is, the weakest seas are the four blues because they don't posses the bast variety that the grand line have + the crazy weather, so people doesn't actually need such tech and don't have the means to obtain it either due to the lack of resources (I'm focusing main in the east blue since is the only one we have seen so far), the New World is full of people capable of obtaining different tech due to the black market or they can create them self, what do you mean when you said "there are no Marine bases outside Marineford"?
Actually while we sighted no Den Den Mushi in the oceans - that does not mean they were not there.
I think they became more pronounced in the Grand Line because you can't navigate normally like you can outside of the GL meaning you need alternatives to just sailing one location to another.
I do believe that the Visual Mushi's were a construction of convenience but I think they can easily be added retroactively to the story with no issues.
Why is usopp still a coward you figured he would of grown alot in 2 years but he didn't.
Robin hasn't had many one on one fights.
Why is usopp still a coward you figured he would of grown alot in 2 years but he didn't.
Usopp ain't a coward, all the crap you'll see is just for comedy relief nothing more, Oda cannot just change a character so drastically, so that's why he has Usopp being cowardly when they're chatting about some bad guy but when the time comes he'll be a brave warrior of the see
The characters dont really need to change and i dont really understand the idea that character development should equal a change of personality. thats just not how it works, when the chips are down i dont believe adults will change that much in their essential personality traits regardless of what happens. What is important however, is that they have an arc and get the attention from the writer in order to overcome obstacles despite of their flaws.
Its important that all the characters get proper attention so that they remain interesting, otherwise we will stop caring about them. so far the only character i dont care about at all is Franky, but oda has done a great job with the others (nami and robin probably need to do some more fighting thought).
I dont get Franky. Like, at all. Is he supposed to be Funny? is it some kind of wierd japanese humour? like they think he is funny becauses he uses alot of corny english phrases? i just dont get it, is the SUUUPA FRANKY STRONG RIGHT TACIC OVER NINE THOUSAND stuff supposed to make me laugh?
He is just an annoying douchebag and his entire existance, being like a cyborg with lazerz in a pirate setting is fucking stupid. STOP RUINING MY ONE PIECE FRANKY. I SAID GET OUT!

Maybe the anime just ruined the character for me. i really cant stand the voice actor. jesus, put arnold in there or something. and put the current guy in a tall booth where he belongs.

that's the reason why I don't enjoy the anime, I still watch it but I skip a lot, it takes me like 10min to watch a 23m video, they make Usopp look like a fool which I detest
the woman voicing Luffy is amazing. Truly spot on for the character. Zoro, Sanji, Robin and Chopper are also great in the anime imo
Okay to mention on something others said = yea, voice actors tend to ruin the animes for me… and usually its the English ones not Japanese that are horrible. Seems for some odd reason when translating into English they have to give horrible voices to certain characters, esp charas that the vocal fans see as jokes. That's one reason I never watched the dubbed version of Yu Yu Hakusho and One Piece. In YYH, they have Kuwabara the most horrible voice, more horrible than that stuffy nose/fake brokelin (yes spelled that way on pursose, that's how broken the voice was!) voice 4Kids gave Sanji
And yes, the anime usually takes the supposed 'joke characters' ( I don't agree with that but tis what some call them) that isn't the highest popularity and makes their more negative qualities worse. I only glimpsed through the anime during FI but was able to see some moments they made Usopp act as the old self of cowardice (shaking knees ect) where the manga did not have that. I quickly stopped watching so can't say what ep those were
So CP9 is the strongest and most secertive CP group of all time….
Except for CP0, which is stronger, wtf

Well it seems like you haven't seen the fight against the Dragon at Punk Hazard, that was really really painful to watch

oh no.. I refuse to watch it esp the English version. The manga had some moments of humor ala Usopp in that scene so I assume the anime take those and magnify them to unrealistic proportions and add more that wasn't there :getlost: just give me the manga and I'm a happy fan

They were the strongest incarnation of that group (CP9), not the strongest of all CP agencies.
@wolfwoof:

Weren't they suppose to be 9 with 9th being a secret to the public?
Weren't they suppose to be 9 with 9th being a secret to the public?
Yes, When they were first introduced in the Water 7/Enies Lobby arc, there were 9 levels to Ciper Pol.
CP1 through 8 were known to the general public and CP9 was the secret one as they were assasins that dealt with the politically sensitive missions while 1-8 groups were more like police or CIA ect. How the newly revealed CP0 fits into this …shrugs shoulders
I agree with wolfwoof, of all the incarnations of CP9, Lucci's group were said to be the strongest incarnation.
Weren't they suppose to be 9 with 9th being a secret to the public?
The one who created them didn't know how to count, so they went 0, 1, 2, 3, 5, 6…
The way i see it, not even the CP9 knows about the existance of CP0, only the Tenryuubito and top dogs of the world gouvernment does.

Im bothered by the fact that so many fans dont realize how intelligent and eloquent Doflamingo is. His speech about Justice, good and evil during Marineford was a perfect summaraziation of Friedrich Nietzsche and Nihilism 101 for pre-teens.

Doesn't everyone like that speech?
Blackbeard being count as part of the worst generation.
Blackbeard being count as part of the worst generation.
Never got that part myself but he was unknown and expended the same amount of time on Paradise as the Worst Generation, so I think that counts for something
More Urouge. Seriously, there isn't enough Urouge in this manga.
Where are the Foxy pirates. They made this series more fun than it was supposed to be and we were robbed of it when they just disappeared and never got mentioned again. The fuck, Oda.
Rebecca is a good thing. This is more nitpicking the fanbase. The hell, guys.
I feel you, the Foxy pirates were awesome, I don't understand the bashing the DBF arc gets. Foxy himself was the more amusing villain ever, I love him. But they'll reappear for sure, in a cover, some panels, the final war or whatever.
I agree with the second point as well.
The way i see it, not even the CP9 knows about the existance of CP0, only the Tenryuubito and top dogs of the world gouvernment does.
For such a secret organization, they sure didn't have trouble to hold a public speech.

The worst generation is supposed to be the new title of the 11 supernovas and proving the expectations people had on them. There was no reason to had Blackbeard. The fact he is yonkou is intimidating enough. To me it feels like Oda forcing the idea that Luffy and Blackbeard are from the same generation.

I'm sure he is a faithful commander of a yonkou crew.

The citizens know CP0.
It needs to turn out that Apoo was a female that had a run in with Iva all along.

Could be but keep in mind that the guy was a nobody, no one in the world knew him and when he Killed Thatch he went directly to the beginning of the Grand Line and started as a fresh but strong pirate, is true that he shouldn't be considered a rookie but he brought havoc to the seas just like the other 11 guys that were labeled alongside him

I doubt shichibukai can be considered rookies. Or that crew full of level 6 can be considered a rookie crew. Plus the guy hage spend 20 years in the new world and killed Whiteveard commander. Plus he wasn't at shabaody which is why they group the 11 together in the first place.

He wasn't a Shishibukai when he moved to the grand line (Jaya and Drum Kingdom), he became a Shishibukai around the time that Luffy was on Amazon Lily, so that's a long run for the nobodies and he also obtained those level 6 right at end of the first half, like I said he have expended 20+ years with the Whitebeard Pirates as a shadow (Unbelievable ahh), so that's why he is considered a rookie captain/crew and he created more chaos than those 11 rookies
