@BingBang:
Bad chapter. Since Punk Hazard Oda is doing boring and empty chapters with no emotion in it,
This chapter had no emotion to it? What are you, a rock?
it's like he's is trying to stretch the arcs with irrelevant stuff. The relationship Rebecca/Toy is not that important for the story (the story of Rebecca ONLY yea)
Rebecca and Toy Soldier are major characters in the arc. Therefore, if the flashback is important for the character's story, it's gotta be important for the arc's. Characters are not just cut-outs that are there to fill space on teh screen. They need, uh, characterisation. Backstory. Life.
- 13 page to explain it is too much.
That's a very concise backstory, actually. Weighing in at less than one chapter is pretty short and sweet.
It's like Oda doesn't know how to handle bad designed characters and try to give them a more dramatic backround and role to supply the lack of charisma and design. Another kingdom princess? Repeating a concept over and over pfff ( Arabasta, Amazon, Fisherman Island) now it's too much.
How would you tell if the character is badly designed if you don't even care to read through their backstory? Yes, amazingly, Oda wants to draw in Rebecca's childhood both to give exposition to Doflamingo's seizure of teh throne adn to explain Rebecca's motivations and emotions. He is … developing her. But you would rather ... there was no development?
Also, we have had princesses over and over now (but Hancock is not one of them . . . ), but they do all appear to be unique, both in terms of their character and their role in the story. You could equally moan about how we visit an island for each adventure . . .
- Another break? How many in the last 6 months? Punk Hazard and Dressrosa are the arcs with more breaks and the arcs with more useless chapters. Oda knows how to handle the big traits of the story but now is lacking of ideas on how to treat the details
Count the breaks through Dressrosa and PH, take out those for illness, and you'll get pretty much teh same as any other arc.
I don't really know what this concept of a 'useless chapter' is. One second you're saying that this chapter's adding nothing to the overall story, next you're saying that the overall story is great, but it's the details at fault?
I think you have zero idea what you're talking about. Or you have xero ability to communicate what you actually mean.
