yea that was another thought i had, very interested to see how that turns out because i feel Oda is definitely setting it up both with the marines mentioning no fighters coming out and the dwarfs mentioning that the Colosseum will be the sight of the ultimate battle. I'm thinking the straw-hats will end up saving a lot of their former nemesis' from whatever fate it is awaits them under the Colosseum. Or maybe DD has simply paid/rewarded all of the fighters to remain after the rounds and take on Luffy once hes tired from the tournament as he did with Bellamy forming his own army?
Law should have knowledge about all this since he was close to doflamingo and might even have been with him when he took over Dressrosa and all this went down.

Not a bad theory. If she can see peoples memories and show hers to others, and even create tear-whales with her eyes, being able to go inside someones mind and erase memories isnt too much of a stretch. She also seemed pretty sad and regretful over something, wich might stem from guilt over brainwashing an entire island.
Oh, and I had a thought (though it's very most likely wrong as all hell) as to the aforementioned treasure.
Maybe it wasn't actual gold and diamonds treasure… Maybe, well Rayleigh was mentioned, and he's got a certain 'treasure' who keeps her own bar. Seeing the link? Oh, now, this was fun. So many separate developments, including the colosseum battle.
It seems Chinjao's tragic backstory might be really tragic after all…certainly he's been set up enough as a character to have earned one. It also provides a way he can end up being sympathetic towards Luffy, and maybe yet another one of his allies - which would match his statement about the Pirate King being the King of Kings (which makes me wonder where Jesus Burgess is...).
Law is having trouble, but that was to be expected from taking on Dofla (who has been massively built up by now, given his organisation) and Fujitora (who is proving he's as strong as our original three Admirals).
The dwarves could do with a little more personality beyond Leo's, and I'm worried Robin is being silenced a lot, which stands out even more given that Nami's barely appeared this arc.
Good to see Bastille again. The lack of fighters coming out being highlighted does suggest something is going on, probably under Diamante's supervision. I'm not sure what though - perhaps they're being turned into toys, but for what purpose would be beyond me. These fighters would include Rebecca, Elizabello, Bluegilly, Dagama, Hack and possibly even Maynard, so if they're being caught up in this, we may well not have seen the last of them (and it'd be good to see more of Maynard given he got a chapter named after him but was defeated off-screen by Bart).
The toy backstory is really dark, which is something I enjoy. Look forward to learning more details about this, but just those scenes with the two toys were wonderfully heartbreaking. As for the midnight curfew (which feels a bit Cinderella), I wonder if the toys cease to be toys for a bit? Perhaps that's going too far, and they simply regain their memories. Hard to say when we don't know what devil fruits are in play. Given Violet and Jora, though, the Donquixote family do seem to have a tendency for the non-combat, reality-warping powers (which also fits Laws' fruit, if not Buffalo, Monet or Baby 5). It's almost a shame they never hired Miss Goldenweek.

I hope so too. There's a lot of subplots and fun culture going on (though to an extent, this was true for Punk Hazard around a third the way into that arc) so it would be a shame for things to go all Enies Lobby on us. I'm hoping that all the complicating factors (Fujitora and Bastille, CP0, Chinjao, Bart, Cavendish, the dwarves) mean that it will be more complicated than that, but I guess we'll see.

To be fair that subplot couldn't have been delved into too much deeper without becoming realy unpleasant to watch. As nauseatingly (?) so.
Anyway I wouldn't have minded if turning into toys made the people lose their memory, but somehow all people forgetting the existence of those people is weird, especialy in the case of a woman not questioning the fact she doesn't know her son's father, apparently.
It reminds me all too much of a certain other series with a self centered douchebag altering people's memories in ways that don't make logical sense, yet which were never questioned by said characters (not saying Doflamingo is a self centered douchebag, just attempting to describe Tsuki-san without coming to to find everything covered in blood and another house pet missing). That's what's mainly concerning me at present and sort of "compromised" my enjoyment of the rest of the chapter.

Otherwise, I liked Bastille actualy getting an in-story introduction and possibly some relevance, but I do think the Dwarf culture should be dwelved on more before we go into any kind of battle royale.
Also, I am a bit worried that the other Doflamingo Family members introduced during the tournament (Machvise, Lao G, Senor Pink, Diamante and Dellinger) may go the way of Saldeath, that is appear for one chapter, not do much of anything, and then only have an appearance of like two panels, and also not doing much of anything.
We also have CP0 still walking around, plus what Sai said about their "true purpose".

Again, let's wait untill that's explained a bit more. There does some to be some people that don't question their "manipulated memories" one bit, like the ones on this chapter, but Rebecca clearly knows something's going on, even if she, too, can't remember if Kyros even existed; and back during Block B, an old man in the audience clearly remembered something when he saw Ricky fight, and was quite sure he had seen that before, just that he couldn't come up with any details about it. So, maybe, something can trigger people's lost memories?

Now, this, on the other hand, I wouldn't worry too much about. Maybe they won't get the full treatment, but no Saldeath treatment for them, that I'm sure. Diamante, specially, has been shown as one of the 3 most important Dofla underlings. No way in hell he won't be somewhat relevant, even if only fight wise.
The others have been shown quite a bit already, they'll have their screen time, and I'm even willing to bet that they'll all have a fight against someone. All of them. Which brings me to my next point. . . . .

Fingers crossed that theres two seperate factories: The one Violet told Sanji of thats below a toy house, and the factory below the Coliseum
. . .sorry, man, but there's going to be fighting. Lots of it. And we should see that coming already. CP0; marines; VA Bastille; Fujitora; Dofla; like, 10 or more named Dofla underlings, most of them with DF abilities; an army of dwarves; the whole SH crew + Kinemon + Law; probably, Law's crew; Burgess; Bartolomeo; Cavendish. . . . . . . .
And I'm not even counting the Kanonuki guys or the fighters that already lost, but even them can joy the fray.
There's going to be hits flying left and right. Better start accepting this. I'm not saying this is what I hope to happen; both the toys and the dwarves deserve to be paid full attention. But there's going to be action on a big, big scale, of that I'm sure.
I'm also sure, though, that Dressrosa's flashback ain't going to be shorter than 7-8 chapters, and that'll include, for sure, Dofla taking over the country, why did he do the whole toy thing, who did it, how he/she did it, the memory thing, the factories, what's the deal with Kyros, why kidnap 500 dwarves and their princess, Rebecca and the toy soldier backstory. . . .So, yeah, I'm quite sure that, at the very least, a bit of everything will be brought to light.
If said flashback also includes Law and Vergo, then maybe we'll go towards a 10 chapter flashback or something like that. And if we are going to explore Dofla's roots as wathever the hell he has to do with the celestial dragons. . .well. You get the point.
What I do agree with, though, is that I also hope there are 2 factories. It does sounds unlikely, seeing as how that's not been foreshadowed at all, all the talk is about a single factory.

I think the drugged kids did get spotlighted, it was just done in a weird way, with Oda constantly backtracking to events that took place 5 minutes ago instead of showing everything in real time. But, yeah, Mochia got an entire chapter for herself and her struggle with the rest of the drugged kids, and how she ate all the candies to avoid the rest of the kids to contaminate themselves any further.
And I also remember how quite a lot of people didn't like that because "why are we wasting an entire chapter on these useless kids?". But that's like a usual thing in here, almost to a comical point, seeing as how some people (not many, luckily) thought last week was bad cause only fighting and no plot, and this week is bad cause all plot and no fighting. Hard to please, are we. . .

Well fuck, the arc suddenly got a lot darker. I'm willing to bet that there's also some serious brainwashing behind the scene. With so many toys going around, there's no way all their familes could have suddenly forgotten everything out of the blue like this. Either it's a side-effect of the Devil Fruit power, or Doflamingo and his crew somehow managed to do it with another method.

So the toys were humans who were turned into toys by a devil fruit user. Saw that one coming from a mile away! However, I'm quite surprised about the factory being under the Colosseum.
Anyway, this was a great chapter! Not as good as the last one but still great.
