@Vegard:
So basically… They want to create an entirely different character. Because when last I looked, a black homosexual male is about as close to Mary Jane as Iron Man is to Luffy.
If he's a sassy supermodel, he'll be like MJ.

They've been doing this gender and race switch pretty succesfully lately.
And of course we all remember that MCD was THE best Kingpin we are ever likely to see on screen
And that was in a complete shitepile of a movie mind you

I agree although it really is weird for him to not be some racist white cracker.
@The:
Those comments man, those comments…
It's a really bad (and silly) idea don't get me wrong, but my reasons are not the same reasons a lot of those comments are suggesting.
This is a bad idea. The biggest problem I see with it is really there's no justifiable reason to do it. There's no precedent for it in the comics, and it really seems to be coming out of left field, more like a let's do it just because it's controversial. I don't feel that's good writing.
This is something that would just upset and/or divide the spiderman fan base like emo Peter Parker and One More Day did.
Is Venom that complex/confusing of a character to get right on film? This is their second chance after Raimi flubbed on the third film, and they still want to try something risky with Venom? I really don't understand the rationale behind this. But I'm getting ahead of myself. This surely cannot be a serious consideration.
I don't think Venom is actually in this film tho. I just thought of the villain who most clearly had a homosexual interest in Peter
Well unless you count Jameson. He's absoposituvely something for Spidey
You know what i hope they make Rhino gay. Him and Jaime Foxx as lovers
Every villain should be Hisoka from Hunter Hunter.

Venom sux no matter what unless it's Flash Thompson AKA Agent Venom.
Imagine how much fun you could have if you were the director of a major adaption
Just twitter something like the entire cast will be Mexican and watch the show unfold
Uncle Pedro got shot in a drive-by in L.A

There's a guy who already does something like this and makes it a reality:
Uwe Boll.
I suppose it's similar. But doctor Boll never gets anything good
Nobody ever says hey let's give doctor Boll a crack at Superman
And we reach page 100 arguing about a gay Venom. headdesk

That's a fun hypothetical. If Boll ever got a crack at Superman, it'd probably look like the Super Mario bros movie.
And if he was ever offered spiderman, it would probably resemble Eight Legged Freaks. And we'd all be sitting around in this hypothetical universe and wondering how Boll ever makes connections between the source material and whatever nonsense comes out of his head.
Fox has registered the X-Force domain name and today Liefeld confirmed that an X-Force movie is in the works. Time to get EXTREME with some giant guns, pouches 'n belts.
Also, Marvel Comics announced an event in which "millions" of humans suddenly turn into Inhumans and they all form into houses ala Game of Thrones and "“It’s giving us a chance to get back to a classic Marvel metaphor of alienation…We’re telling science-fiction stories, but really it’s about race, gender, sexual equality. It’s a very relevant, pertinent metaphor.”, so expect the soon to be announced Inhumans movie to be the beginning of Marvel Studios' attempt to integrate their own second grade version of the X-Men/mutants into the MCU.

The shocking thing is people were arguing over Venom in the first place.
I don't know what the fuzz is about. They'd never to that anyway.
Of course IF they did it, it would be so funny that i'd totally accept it.
Jamie looks…interesting as Electro. Looks more like a black Mr. Freeze to me. :ninja:
Wait didn't you get banned like yesterday?
Anyhow i guess the glowy skin works. Doesn't beat a yellow star mask but it works

Xavier, Magneto, Colossus, Bishop:
Pat and Matt are going to be so jelly.
And Wolverine even has grey streaks like in the comic:

I need to get around to seeing Amazing Spiderman.
And I know nothing about Electro.

Electric dude, used to be a dick 'til his dickishness caused him to get electrecuted. Now he's a superpowered dick
Wore a crazy awesome green and yellow outfit with a huge star mask on the face.
Nowadays probaly wears a black leather jacket like every other updated marvel villain
Hot dang, apparantly the Fox Comic Con panel is getting pretty great.
uge applause for "Marvel" coming across. Xavier's voice, Wolverine, Storm, Bobby, Rogue, Kitty, a "glimpse from the past." Bishop, Thunderbird, Blink looks straight out of the comic. "Side by side to end this war before it ever begins." Wolverine will be sent back into his younger body by both Xavier AND Magneto. Xavier says "I was a very different man. Lead me, guid me, be patient with me. "Patience is my strongest suit," he deadpans. Lots of Mystique shots, kicking some ass. Magneto vs. Mystique at one point! "We need you to hope again," old Xavier says to young. Crazy applause.
There’s a huge guest list. There’s nobody conspicuously absent. Again, Dinklage is getting the best reaction. If by best you mean people hurting my very bones with their screams.
Omar Sy, Ellen Page (huge applause), Shawn Ashmore, Anna Paquin, Halle Berry, Ian McKellan, Patrick Stewart, Hugh Jackman, James MacAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Holt, Peter Dinklage, Evan Peters! Ladies and gentlemen, the X-Men!"
Just a mention of Usual Suspects sent the crowd up in a cheer. Really, this panel is getting the greatest, most excited response I’ve seen at Con this year.
Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen getting a shared ovation. This might calm down in a minute so we can get on with things.
Ian McKellen lead the crowd in a cheer that California dispelled Proposition 8 since he was last here. He said he’s now looking for a husband, turned to Fassbender and said “Nice to meet you Michael.”
Recap of Marvel's panel.

ULTRON! Oh god, I hope Hank and Janet get twisted in all this before the Ant Man movie, and we have drama between the three of them in the Ant Man movie itself.
I want to see Hank and Janet in Avengers 2. If they make Ultron Iron Man's creation, that wouldn't feel right to me.
Huh…I'm not a marvel lore expert, but does Ultron tie into Thanos or Guardians of the Galaxy in any way? I thought that was gonna be the next red thread through phase II.
/nerdranton
What I don't get is why Ultron is going to be the main villain of The Avengers 2, which comes out in the summer of 2015, when Ant-Man is the person who created him, along with Giant-Man, and it comes out fall/winter of 2015. I sense a retcon coming. A retcon involving Tony Stark creating Ultron instead of Ant-Man/Giant-Man.
They could however make the first Ant-Man movie a prequel to the events of The Avengers 2, but I think that would take away from the awesomeness of Ultron's creation in the movie, because he would already be defeated in The Avengers 2 which will be released a couple months before.
Also. With Ultron being the main villain of The Avengers 2, I get the feeling more and more that Vin Diesel is going to play The Vision: the creation of Ultron; we know he's been in talks with Marvel. This would help to explain why Scarlet Witch was put into the movie, because The Vision and Scarlet Witch end up falling in love and getting married to one another.
/nerdrantoff
It could be that Hank and/or Janet is going to exist as a scientist before they become Ant man/Wasp, and create Ultron among their projects. It gets lose, they get caught up helping the Avengers stop it, both of their powers are hinted at in Avengers 2, and after Ultron is defeated, he returns in the Ant Man movie, leading to his relationship with Janet and Hank having to stop him.
Or it could totally be Tony's creation, which it's still possible to have him be connected to Hank and Janet.
Huh. I thought we were going straight to Thanos.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Also every time I see mention of Janet for the Ant-Man movie I can't help but think of Hank's most famous moment
I could see Ultron being a Tony Stark thing with him wanting to build a robot for peace and all…...but it just seems like it would be strange for Ultron to be built by Tony instead of Hank since Ultron seems so involved with him and Janet. I suppose it would be like taking an iconic Batman villian and making him a villian for some other hero.
Jarvis will be Ultron. More character development for Stark.
What's that? You want Marvel Cinematic Universe to not be too Iron Man-centric for once? TOO BAD, MUTHAFUCKA.

Never thought I'd see the day "Lose" would incorrectly be used instead of "Loose":ninja:. @Cyan:

Robby summed this up in an another thread you're not the only one who can't think of anything else but this. Or Ultimate Marvel's version.
No Hank Pym in Avengers 2: Age of Ultron? I'm not interested. I really enjoyed the first flick and all of the Marvel movies so far, but I refuse to take part in this Stark/RDJ worship when Pym is such a good character. This is a huge waste to me.

Sometimes I wonder if actors really enjoy this kind of thing, or if they just want/need the extra cash, or if they're under contractual obligation…

Depends on actor. For Hiddleston…I think he actually does enjoy being Loki (not to mention it significantly throwing him into the spotlight and boosting his career tremendously).
Don't really like this idea at all since I wanted to see Thanos by then, but come to think of it the infinity gauntlet, if that is what they will be doing by they time they get to him, have a lot of characters involved. heres some more news about it http://insidemovies.ew.com/2013/07/20/marvel-captain-america-thor-guardians-of-the-galaxy-comic-con/

A lot of actors love playing villains. Especially dramatic ones.
I just want to see Scarlet Witch and the Vision to do the deed with one another, and piss Ultron off because his "perfect creation" isn't listening to him. :ninja:
Women, man… They got the power!
A lot of actors love playing villains. Especially dramatic ones.
Oh sure; I was just referring to showing up at conventions.
From what I know of Hiddleston . . . . I think he eats it up. That and fangirls. Loki has sooooooooo many fangirls.
I want to know maybe this sequel can work. What if the story line takes place a couple yrs in the future, by then there is a couple new characters that were introduced in between, including Scarlet Witch Wasp and Hank Pym.
Too be honest. I see Ant-Man and crap being in The Avengers: Age of Ultron, then, once the first Ant-Man movie comes around, it will be an origin story movie, and we will see Ultron being created during the course of the movie.
That…or, like someone suggested, we see Ant-Man before he was Ant-Man in The Avengers 2 create Ultron, and the Ant-Man movie itself will still be an origin story, but, Ant-Man won't get his powers until after the defeat of Ultron in The Avengers 2.
